How Can I Get Subutex Not Suboxone? (Page 12)

Updated

I don't know how to go about this as I am shaking and can barely focus, I need help! Please. I fear that my life is going to end from my abuse of opiates. I am currently taking 250 mgs of oxycontin per day. I have a loving fiance and a stepdaughter that I want to be here for. I sit here with cold sweats, and fear going out just because I may make the fearful turn to the meds. Any and all info on how to obtain Subutex would be much appreciated. This wasn't what I wanted my life to be, and I can not let it end this way..Please help me. I am not a religious man but I pray for help as I am at my wits end with this drug.

I am very sorry to say that u r very wrong about the subs. I was on 6 blues a day.. I was very bad off.. To say my mother's said to me on the phone to get off the needle and quit smoking, the point is when we hung up she dropped dead with the phone in her hand.. I got the call 2 hours later that she passed. I stopped that night, I went two days with nothing till Monday morning and got on them. I had to fly out of state at 4:00 am Tuesday. I was feeling fine and keep that what she said in my head. So when I got back to FL. I got rid of #'s and told people if u r not sober your gone..Well dear and all that read this, that was the best thing that had happened to my life.. knowing that you have to want help, not to misuse it is the key, because the people I helped get on it is not misusing for a buzz and not getting dropped down the amount of pills or films. If the person themselves think they r ready then u can do it and stay off the other pill...but if u don't have the strong will to do it, it won't happen. People Places and Things that trigger it, well it can screw the will power to get better. Not preaching to anyone, but I am sober 4 Year's and on the 24.

who is "very wrong about the subs"? not sure who you are replying to. they need a better system on here for replies. it just goes on as a "reply", but not specific as to whom.

I take prescribed opiates daily. What dose of subutex will I need to cover my withdrawals? I'm at a very high dose and my w/d is really deadly bad. Also, how much do pharmacies charge for subutex (per pill)? Another question... My veins are damaged. Is there is any treatment to cure my veins back to health? I am very sad about this as my veins disappeared. Please help.

who are you talking to? getting subutex is going to depend on your doctor. i assume you are meaning subutex as opposed to suboxone?

Even hello my friend, you are not alone and I can relate to you as I am also in the same or very similar position Myself. I have a local CRI and CDAS now know as STARS in my area. I have become very isolated and I feel the fears you do. It was never my drug of choice. Now 37 I avoided the drug until about a year ago and now I am reliant daily on this horrible drug. I have tried to go cold turkey a couple of times and lasted all of a day as the withdrawals are strong, mentally, physically and emotionally. I have been to my local CDAS and been scripted always a daily pick up and the dedication to the daily pick up is a must and I couldn't even manage to do that due to anxiety :-( The other option is private doctors you can find on the web, though this does cost. I personally would favor in this instance to go for subutex over methadone as the methadone could end up in a double habit double the agony on top of the opiates. Strongly recommend to avoid the methadone. It is your decision at the end of the day and the doctor should go with what you say don't let them sway you otherwise unless you agree with there reasoning. You will have good support with STARS/CRI/CDAS. Also I would highly recommend joining an AA NA or CA meeting there is no one else that will never understand an addict than another addict you will find love, support and fellowship like no other and people from all walks of life it will blow you away like no drug could ever do. This could be a good starting point. You will find AA NA and CA meetings all over the world and if you don't feel ready to go out to a meeting you will find web-based meetings. Please try. I should do the same, it all sounds so easy and it is, we are worth it. I wish you all the very best with your recovery. I hope I have helped even a little.

As far as suboxone, the amount you would need is totally going to be up to you and your doctor. typical dosages are anywhere from 2mg to the ceiling dose of 32mg. but i dont see a lot of people on that high of a dose. now i am a person who had a big habit, so i was on between 24 and 32 mgs of subutex at any time. dont be afraid to tell your doctor if you need more. it took a while for me to get on the right dose, and then it STILL didnt help me that much (my dr. says im a "tough case") so i ended up being helped more by methadone. i got my subutex with the help of insurance, so i wouldn't know how much it is without it.

As far as veins, im not sure there is anything one CAN do, or i would have done it. at the end of my using, i had to fix in my legs, so i hear ya on bad veins. when i have to give blood, lets just say its not pleasant for anyone involved. good luck.

Kaylee I have a loved one needing help with this a very similar situation. But they are not doing it to abuse it what so ever! It's just the doctor won't write him subutex. He's even tried letting them know that he will pay for the drug panels himself and get evaluated regularly to prove that they help a lot better than the subs. He has major depression and no one in our state, kentucky, will help him! They think he's trying to abuse them!! They won't even let him talk, they just say noo we don't and won't prescribe them! Not realizing that they are literally saving a life if they just would help him!! I'm worried for him! He gets sick to his stomach, seems like he gets way more hateful and he's just not happy like he was for the 8 months his dealer at the time gave to him. He still try to find morphine..and at times he does, unfortunately. He's only been on suboxone for 2 months, and they are not helping! These doctors don't gaf! They are obviously paid by suboxone sublingual films! That's why it's advertised everywhere! I guess they think where those would help him better, that he's just lying to get them to mix with morphine! No s***, I'm around him 24 7, except when he's at work and then I take the car so he won't feel tempted, yet and not one time did he talk me into having anyone help him with morphine while he was on the subutex! Not once! And he only took 2mg to 4mg of subutex whereas with suboxone he takes 2, so 16mg a day! Help is much needed! His doctor is soo Intimidating that it's hard for him to even keep trying! He's been talking about giving up, and moving out of state to get "real" help! And I'm getting to the point where I can't blame him! I go to every single appointment, I try talking to him, I do everything! He's badly depressed and now feels that there is absolutely no hope at all in him doing better in life! Please help!

KRISS: Not sure if you are talking to me, but I can at least give you my experience. I stared off on 100 mgs of methadone, and am currently down to 85mgs. I am on methadone tablets, and I am going down 5 mgs every 6 to 8 weeks. They are 10 mg pills, and I am taking 55 mgs in the morning and 30 mgs in the evening. I make sure I am fully adjusted to the new dose before going down again. So it is actually closer to the 8 weeks. My doctor has prescribed me Clonidine, which is a blood pressure medication that helps with restlessness and anxiety....the "heeby jeebies", skin crawling etc. He has also prescribed me Soma, for back and leg pains. Both of these also help me sleep. I take the Soma as sparingly as possible, as they can be physically addicting. I also have Promethazine for nausea/vomiting. If you are unable to get prescriptions to help with the symptoms, try Nyquil nighttime liquid caps and Benedryl. Those will at least help with some of the symptoms, and will help you sleep. MMJ can help too, if you live in a state where that is feasible. I am in Colorado.

If you are reducing your methadone, go as slowly as you need to, DO NOT rush it. You will end up being sick and using or going back up on the methadone dose, which of course is counterproductive. What I have noticed is I am ok during most of the day, but I am feeling a bit "short" on my meds in the evening; I start yawning and sniffling a bit, and my temperature sensor seems off. Also some leg pain. So I take the prescriptions and bundle up with a blanket on the couch. Since methadone is long acting, I am noticing the peak of feeling bad is about 4 or 5 days in, and after about a week I start feeling a tiny bit better every day. Right now, I am on 85 mgs and have been for about 4 weeks. Still not feeling great in the evenings, but over the next couple of weeks, I expect to adjust. After I have one week of feeling pretty much back to "normal", I will go down to 80 mgs. I don't know if I will be able to completely detox to zero, but right now my goal is just to get down to 35 to 40 mgs by the end of the year. Good luck to you and remember, take it SLOWLY.

My husband was on 3 subutex a day for 2 years but they passed a new law making it harder for him to still get them hes now on suboxone and is constantly in withdrawal and has bad bad headaches and complains of his heart fluttering and not being able to catch his breathe they say that he has to have an allergic reaction documented by a Dr to be able to get his subutex back. I was wondering if anyone else is going through this because they are telling me its a new law please help i cant stand to see him in this shape and me be so helpless

CONCERNED: You need to take him to the doctor, hospital or ER and GET DOCUMENTATION. Those symptoms he is having? Get that stuff in writing. The only way they are going to give your husband back the Subutex is if you get those very serious symptoms documented. Describe all those symptoms to the medical professional and stress that this all started with the switch. That you suspect he is having a REACTION TO THE NALOXONE. All this BS with the subutex/suboxone makes me glad I went back to methadone tablets. I had an intolerance to the naloxone, and was miserable the whole week I was on it. My doctor put me on the subutex and the misery went away. I switched over to methadone before all these new rules about subutex. Good luck.

If you took four oxy 80s at once you'd be dead. Get the suboxone, it helps. Only reason you want subutex is so you can still use other drugs cause it doesn't have blocker. Grow up geez, your whinning is getting on my nerves.

STRAIGHTFORWARD: The "blocker" doesn't matter. The buprenorphine itself will throw you into precipitated withdrawals, whether the naloxone is in there or not. I know this for many reasons, including personal experience. The only reason that the naloxone is in the Suboxone is to keep people from taking the Bupe intravenously. Many people (including some doctors and pharmacists) are misinformed on this. So, no, you can't still do full agonist opioids while taking Subutex. You have to make sure the opioids are COMPLETELY out of your system, and you are in pretty decent withdrawals before taking Subutex or you will be hurting. BAD. Just like with Suboxone. The only reason I wanted Subutex rather than Suboxone was because the Naloxone exacerbated my pre-existing migraines and chronic nausea. I have no desire to abuse Bupe.
