Work in an ER dept see this every day not that easy to get off heroin. One thing a heroin addicts need to know is please seek help u have no idea what this does to your body and mind.you are already done reversible damage to your self

Susan, so f-ing what!!! It's not your concern if we recovering addicts are our own demise. It doesn't have one damn thing to do with you and it seems to me that you are upset because you are jones'n for pain pills and is jealous that we addicts can get whatever we want and you my dear weak minded one can not. You sound as if you like getting high from pain pills because you obviously don't need them if you have "minimal" pain. I'm disabled and in horrible chronic pain everyday, all day. I don't take pain pills, I take Buprenorphine and thank God it exists so I can remain sober while tending to my children. It drives me nuts when 'know-it-alls' like you talk as if you know something. Stop judging people,you are far from a judge and if you feel the need to criticize, look in the mirror and start there. Take a chill pill....

First to answer the question because that is what this website is for. Justin6 it depends on a few variables such as how long you've been taking subs and what mg and how much heroin you have at your disposal. But basically you can take opiates whenever you want if your on subs, if it's to early you simply wont feel it. What you dont want to do is go from a gram daily habit to immediately taking suboxone, as that will make you instantly withdrawal and bad. I've done it cuz I was impatient. But now I know.

So to go from subs to dope try to wait at least 24 hours, the longer you can hold out the more likely you'll feel a smaller amount. If you cant wait till your feeling the suboxone withdrawals then your just going to need more dope and even then it doesnt have that rush and wont last as long. I've personally went from just 8mg a day sub use for about 3 months to waiting 24 hours then taking a half gram over an hour still being able to do more. I've heard that it's dangerous however and could cause an overdose. That's why heroin is not a solitary drug. Do it with others and with narcan then I want to say it's safe but that would sound funny even to me.

Then to go from dope to subs wait till your in serious withdrawals before taking subs sweating profusely, s***ting, agitated, yawning, restless legs. Look up COWS induction chart. That will tell you when you can take your first suboxone based on your symptoms. If you dont wait till withdrawals then you will soon be in withdrawals and its intense and because of the intensity and short time frame you last used you'll want to use to stop the torture only to realize you wasted the subs and the opiate of choice. If anyone wants to see what precipitated withdrawals are about or you were impatient, you can take an opiate and it will calm down the withdrawals. It wont stop them completely and you wont feel euphoric but you wont be in complete agony anymore. Xanax works great in that situation.

To susan and anyone who thinks God can help or that this person even wants your religious input or an opinion on the question left. This is going to say a lot I understand but I answered the question and im not going to continue to clog up the answer section with a bunch of bulls*** opinions especially if the question asker asks me politely to not post anymore opinions. So God left this planet a long time ago if he/she/it ever was here. If god was here people wouldnt suffer, get raped murdered, babys wouldnt die, governments wouldnt be corrupt- hell if god were here there would be no need for a government or cops or jails because people would do the right thing. Idk it would just be so simple for god to come down and talk to people (apparently hes already talked to people so why not again) so he comes down and lays out "not laws" but how people should treat one another and then no laws would even be needed. And people shouldnt do or not do things because they are afraid of the consequence they should behave a certain way because they wouldn't want someone else to treat them that way, or their son or daughter, or any other family member in any way bad so you should not treat someone a way you wouldn't want to be treated. Next god then says o yea now that you see I am in fact real because I created intelligent creatures I understand you would question my existence I mean a wild claim of a magical man in the sky certainly would need a fair bit of proof before you should believe it. Any intelligent person should question that, I understand that. I made intelligent people who should search for truth. (God still speaking): S*** unless it was one of my days off and you turned out retarded then I expect you'll question my existence, it's a wild claim. Ok so now that you all see I'm here and real you can bet I'll throw your ass in a lake of fire and brimstone FOREVER if you don't treat others fairly and with respect. Even though I will always love you and created you in my own image I will condemn you to eternal suffering if you aren't a decent human being. Gays I created you too but you wont produce children to work and pay taxes and your way to happy so you can burn for eternity also. (For the simple minded, yes that was sarcasm) So he says that from the beginning and no one will get out of line because people are taught (and I suppose fear hell) from the beginning how to treat others with love and respect and not hatred and prejudice. Hate and prejudice are learned behaviors.

Answer 1 you fat f*** you shouldnt eat anything with the word cake in it. Answer 2 wtf do I look like a baker, ask god to deliver. Answer 3 You are dumb as a speed bump it's more likely god will deliver the cake then you making it right. Just give up now before the house starts on fire or like the first poster said before you die of obesity. And we wouldn't want that because we all care about you. Wwjd how would you feel.

Sheila... Just FYI this thread does show up in a Google search for the same question that was asked. As far as him trying to get attention, where do you get something like that?!? It is a question that a large percent of heroin/pain pill addicts all question since it seems like everyone has a different answer or experience to this. At least he asked the question instead of finding out a horrible way. Subs can be a life savor and yet true hell if not taken correctly. I recommend to all addicts, if you don't feel you are truly ready to quit then get subutex not suboxone. Subutex doesn't have the reversal(naloxen-spelling sorry) as the suboxone does. I wish you all luck, I am still battling fighting the chase for that red dragon myself. One day at a time helps!

Wow people like you, what makes you any better than an addict, the mental part of addiction is exactly what it is. I take drugs to quiet my head and it allows me to function and feel Luke a normal person, I can promise if you as a "normal person" is using medications for pain then all of a sudden your pain is gone and there is no need for the medication I know for a fact you wouldn't have been able to just stop. You are addicted to it whether you like it or not and will withdrawal and it will suck and you know if you take that pill you will feel better. If someone can detox and stop taking the medication and have no more pain that's great. When a person who's not addict has this happens they can continue with life and everything will be ok. An addict not so much, addicts have an abnormal reaction to substances that alter the mind. When we just stop using and take drugs away my life doesn't get better it gets worse, I am miserable, this is my experience. After being sick that's when the mental part kicks in and the obsession is so strong that my mind literally can't handle it. I go insane, so at this point u don't have a choice because when I do I can be "normal" and do life basically and no one can tell. Opiates give me energy and allow me to do everything a normal person would do. Addiction is a disease and there is no cure. But there is a sufficient substitute and every alcoholic or addict needs to find it themselves and they need to be ready and do it for them selves not for anyone or anything. I am an alcoholic/addict and I have alcoholism, which is cunning, baffling, and powerful. Using drugs and alcohol is a symptom of alcoholism it goes way deeper than normal people think. If I don't treat it it will treat itself. Just like a diabetic if you don't treat it it will treat itself and you will loose limbs and eventually die. Why don't you do your own research woman before you go and judge someone and entire group of people who are not who they really are in active addiction but are some of the most loving and caring and great people you'll ever meet. I never thought I would've had crack heads and heroin addicts show me the light and give me hope in being sober and showing me that I can be happy and I can live life without drugs and alcohol.

Susan. You are very unsympathetic. "Us good people" Susan you are not behaving as a very good person. Why are you on this site, to judge and insult people? Does this somehow help you to feel better about yourself? I believe you might do much better attempting to work on yourself with the help of a trained professional rather than subjecting others to your issues. It appears that you are not aware that addiction/alcoholism is considered a disesse not a moral deficiency thus it's treatment is covered by health insurance. The countries that have done the best at reducing drug driven crime, HIV, Hepatitis, death from overdose etc. Are the countries which have begun to treat addiction as a health issue and yes as well as being an addict having had 12 years clean my education is in chemical dependency counseling and I have worked in the field with other recovering addicts as well as non addicts, most very good, responsible people. Susan, many of the heroin addicts you are spending your precious time and energy shaming were addicted to the pills prescribed by their doctors you good people are having a hard time getting. You are no different than anyone on this site and your negativity is not welcome. I pray you find help but I do not believe you will find it through the behavior you have displayed on this page. Look, ive been on drugs off and on for ten yrs. I recently stopped taking my subs and started taking opioids for the first time. Being an addict is hard but withdrawal is hell and if u haven't been thru it then u don't know.

I feel sorry for you but why not get so help rather than going to get dope? My son is taking many different drugs and heroin is one of them. Xanax is another, oxycodone 30 mgs and suboxone 8mg is another. It breaks my heart to see him on this crap. He gets very sick if he doesn't have anything to take and I think that is why he can't stop because he gets so sick. He has been doing this for 10 years and goes into very bad neighborhoods. He has been mugged at gun point 3 times. Once they made him give up his sneakers and phone and jacket, wallet all his money. He still goes back for more. I'm know someday I'm going to get a call from the Philly police telling me he was assaulted or killed. I can't help him, he has to want help. And screw that rock bottom crap, some people's rock bottom is death. I pray for him and I'll pay for you too. You guys can get clean, I did it many years ago. I used to drink pretty hard, but I went and got help. I went to Eagleville rehab and they got me through withdraw which was the hardest part. If I can do it anyone can do it. I just started sub monday and then Wednesday they started to wear off so I took two and a half and then Friday is today and I had to take almost four why they were off yesterday so dope sick I was wondering how long before I could use Boy again it again without getting sick like you would pills
