My baby accidentially swallowed misoprostol

My 16 month old baby accidentally swallowed this tablet. What do I do? ## Hi Seda, Sorry to hear about what happened. How has your baby been doing since they ingested the tablet? Any strange side effects or unusual changes in behavior to take note of? In any case, I would just encourage you to contact your prescribing doctor and/or call your local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222 first and foremost, in order to accumulate additional opinions on the matter. I'd like to think that your 16 month old would be fine in the long run after its effects wear off, but due to the nature of this drug's indications it sounds like it would also be a good idea to assess potential risk factors by researching the drug's side effect profile to know what to watch for. Does anyone else ha... ...

Missed a day

This is my third month taking sprintec. I completely overlooked taking the pill last Saturday and didn't realize until today when I took the pack out of the holder entirely. I've taken every pill at the same time except for last Saturday's. I therefore took two today. Should I be worried that skipping a pill and catching up today caused ovulation? ## Yes, there is a risk of that, though only a slight one. You can use backup protection for the next 7 days, until you've made sure to take a pill each day, without missing any, so you'd be sure they are preventing ovulation, again. Otherwise, the only thing you can really do is wait and see if you start your period, when it's due. Oral OCs may also cause side effects, such as irregular bleeding, headache, irritability... ...

Has anyone experienced nightly nightmares that seriously disturb sleep while taking this medication. ## ABSOLUTELY.... I started having bizarre dreams as soon as I started to take it. I then progressed to very vivid nightmares and now I do not want to sleep because of it. Not the wonder drug they say it is. I want off it and as soon as I can convince my doctor, I am getting as far away from it as I can. It also has caused me to gain over 30 pounds and I am far from a couch potato. ## I have insomnia a lot. Nightmares almost every night. and they make me miserable. They seem to go on and on. Headaches during the day. I was a person who never had headaches and was a very sound sleeper. I always joked that you could take the bed out from under me and I wouldn't know it. We went to various gynecological clinics but they failed to explain the actual cause of the problem. They asked me to go for IUI or IVF process. Though the growth and development is satisfactory for first two months, but after that period her body rejects the baby. Can any one suggest me where I should go for proper treatment in India. ...

Vioxx I miss it

Is anything out there to help/ ## Vioxx was the only drug that relieved my arthritis pain. Since it's off the market now, my doctor prescribed MOBIC, but after taking it 4-1/2 mos., on May 12th, I hemorrhaged severly and ended up in the hospital for 11 days; lost 15 lbs., had many blood transfusions, and was basically bedridden until mid-July. It's has caused several other medical problems, a few that even required surgery! I'm still fighting the battle, and my doctor says it will be a year before I'll get over this. Ultracet doesn't seem to relieve osteoarthritis pain; neither does Tylenol for Arthritis. I have a hard time sleeping, and Tylenol PM doesn't seem to do much for that. My doctor says I cannot take Ibuprophen, Aspirin, or any anti-inflamatories. But I... ...
