I got on the shot in February and my birthday was the 25th of February. Maybe a day or 2 later I started my period and it lasted for about 4 months and some change. I notified my OB and she put me on hormone pills but my period still continued so she put me on sprintec. I'm on week 3 so I'm still getting use to taking them on time but so far I've only experienced cramping ... My question is , I only want to take the sprintec for one month cause I'm gay so when I get to the white pills and my period starts , will it then go back to my regular periods? I don't want to be on it for another 4 months ## Unfortunately, no one can provide you with a definitive answer to this question, it may work, but it may not, and no one can know ahead of time. The only thing you can do ...

Long story short I was unable to get my last birth control prescription filled so I haven't had for about two weeks now. Will I just have to start over at the next month and be fine?? ## I was wondering if after taking the IC tri-sprintec tablets for three weeks if i would be protected against pregnancy? ## After missing that many days, you will need to fully start over in order to be protected against pregnancy, generally that requires taking it for a full cycle, IE: one month. Vaughn, you are only protected while actively taking it, so you should continue beyond 3 weeks, if you are actively engaging in intercourse. The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irregular bleeding, mood changes, and weight changes. R...

Can i take norethinderone and sprintec to delay my period. I have taken norethinderone alone to delay my period . But I have recently been prescribed sprintec as a BC. I haven't started it yet and am on my period now - 3rd day. I am traveling next month and do not want to have my period when I'm away. Is there any reason I shouldn't take both meds or would it be to much. I'm just afraid continuing the blue sprintec pills, wont be enough to stop the cycle . Any suggestions? Thank you. ## Have you consulted your doctor to see what would be best, and safest for you? Usually, women can just skip their period by continuing the active tablets, rather than taking the inactive ones for that week, however, this may not work for you, since you are new to taking the birth control, ...

I have been taking sprintec since august of 2011. Before that i was taking ortho tricylen lo but my new gyno switched me to sprintec. Today in march 2012 i started cramping and spotting. I am not supposed to start my period for another week. I take it at the same time everytime except this last week i have been off on taking it regularly. should I be concerned? ## Those can be normal side effects of taking an oral contraceptive, especially if you've been taking it at irregular intervals. However, if you are concerned, there is no harm in discussing it with your doctor to be sure. Other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, acne, mood changes, and weight changes. Ref: Sprintec Information How are you doing, now? Has there been any change?

I forgot to take my friday and saturday of the week 2 pills and accidentally took my sunday pill of week 3 without realizing my mistake. What do I do now? ## Hello, Loren! How are you? If you're talking about the regular Sprintec, which has 3 rows of blue pills and one row of white, then it doesn't matter what day you take the blue ones, they are all the same. The issue is missing those ones, that increases your risk of pregnancy, if you're actively engaging in intercourse. If pregnancy is a concern, you should use a backup method of contraception, until after you've taken 7 full days of active tablets, again, without missing any. This hormonal OC may cause side effects, such as nausea, headache, dizziness, PSM, bloating and irregular bleeding. Is there anything else I c...

How are you? Yes, when you're taking this oral contraceptive, you'll usually start on the first or second day of taking the white tablets. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and weight changes. Is there anything else I can help with? ## hello,i have another question i had been spotting for 2 days since i that day i drinked my second speintec pill and today is my 3rd day and i have had a normal period today,i h...

I had just gotten prescribed these but when I first started I had accidentally started by taking the Tuesday first which is a pill with the b on it instead of the 987 on the Sunday like I was suppose to. Well today I took Monday which was another b one because I saw it went two b's in a row trying to get it back on track. I was wondering if I just go in a row after Tuesday do I need to use a back up form of birth control for an additional day or an additional week ## Actually, if you look, they all have a b on one side, and the number on the other, they are just facing different directions in the packaging, but the pills are all the same. There is no specific day that you need to take any of the blue active tablets, you just need to make sure to take one, each day, at approximately ...

I had what I thought was a light period on Dec 31st till Jan 4. I called my doctor cause I was worried I might be pregnant. I have been on birth control for 2 years and in October this year I switched to tri sprintec after sprintec was giving me headaches. My doctor said I should not be pregnant since I take my pill everyday. I had intercourse with my boyfriend alot a week after my period the beginning of December but I took my pills. lately since the light period I have been feeling sick. For a week now I have had stomach aches and a back ache which I thought was from lifting a Christmas tree. Everyone says I shouldn't be pregnant even my doctor. I did take a lot of aspirin for my back. Like 3 325mg a couple times a day. Could I be pregnant if I'm in so much pain or what? ## He...

I started my period on Monday. Today is Thursday, day 4 of my cycle. Do I wait till Sunday to start taking the blue pills or do I start today? If I start today, do I take the blue or white pills? ## Hello, Billie! How are you? You can start at any time, but if it's past the 2nd day of your period, you will need to take them for a full week, before they will become effective in your body to prevent pregnancy. And you start at the beggining of the pack, with the blue active tablets. The white inactive tablets are intended for your period week. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Hello good day! Iam taking daphne pills and I've started Tuesday. Is it okay or I have to take the first pill which is Sunday? I'm so worried. THANK YOU! :) :) ## i am just gonna start this new ...

I want to skip my period. Can I skip the white pills on sprintec and start a new pack? ## Yes, unless your doctor has told you not to do so, it is perfectly safe to do this, occasionally. Many women use oral contraceptives to skip having their menstrual cycle on special occasions, or other times when it would just be inconvenient. There are even some on the market now that allow you to only have 3 or 4 menstrual cycles a year. Are there any other questions or comments? ## I don't really think you should do that until talking to a doctor, just to be sure.... My doctor is having me skip the placebo pills for two months then taking it the third month so that I'll have a period every three months. You don't want to mess anything up, so talk to a doctor first. ## I have just star...

Tri-sprintec pack of birth control pills my daughter just started this month. She got to the 4th row of white pills and stopped taking the pills. I think she thinks they are sugar pills. What is in the 4th row, should she take the 7 days of white ones? She only missed 2. TX! ## Yes, they are essentially sugar pills. She should take them just as a reminder tho; she may remember this time, but over the months/years one could forget... ## That is correct, they are placebo pills that are meant to keep her in the habit of taking them. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irregular bleeding, mood changes, and weight changes. Is there anything else I can help with?

My boyfriend is coming back from college and he is only going to be in town for the weekend. I started my white pills this past Sunday but want to be done with my period by Friday night or early Saturday. This is my first month taking it so I'm not sure how my body gonna work with it yet. My periods are usually a full 7 days. Do periods tend to be shorter when on sprintec? If not can I start my blue pills on Thursday or Friday to make my period end sooner? ## For the first few months on birth control, your menstrual cycle is actually usually longer than your normal cycle, because your body has to adjust to the hormones. Sometimes, it is even skipped altogether, which may happen if you are lucky. However, once you have started the inactive tablets and not taken the active ones for a ...

So I started sprinted about a year and a half ago after I had my son, and last Monday, decided to stop birth control to start trying for another baby. It was the first day of my second week of pills. Wednesday I was cramping all day, and Thursday morning I woke up with a little bit of blood on my panty liner. As the day progressed, I had to put pads on as it was too heavy for a liner, but not heavy enough for a period. It is a light pinkish color and some brown. Very mucus like. No clots. My breasts feel normal(they are normally tender on my period and my first months of pregnancy). I’ve been constipated all week. It is now Monday again, and still lightly bleeding. I shouldn’t start my period for another 2 Friday’s from now. I’ve been looking online and can...

I forget to start my sprintec pill on Sunday ,so I start it on Monday, is that okay? This is first time am using these pills. ## Hello, Sonia! How are you? You can start it any day, it doesn't have to be on a Sunday. If you start it the first or second day of your period, you will be immediately protected against pregnancy. However, if you start it at any point later in your cycle, you'll need to take it for a full 7 days, before it reaches its full level of effectiveness in your body, which means using a backup method of protection, until the 8th day. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, weight gain and PMS-like symptoms. Hi, I always take my sprintec pill at 9:00 pm. I have been on the pill for a little over a year consistently. Last night I was very tired and wasn't paying attention when I took my pill, and I accidently took my Saturday White Pill instead of my Thursday Blue Pill for my 3rd week. I am wondering what pill am I supposed to take now. Thank you ## Hello, Sydney! How are you? Missing one of the white pills doesn't matter, because they don't contain active hormones, so you should just go ahead and take the active one and then continue as you normally would. If you take an active tablet late, or miss one, you increase your risk of pregnancy and may experience breakthrough bleeding. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Ok so all my pills are blue expect this week pills are wh...

I understand heavy bleeding is normal while my body is adjusting to the hormones, but at whst point should I be concerned, this my third day with extremely heavy bleeding 2 or 3 pad changes EVERY hour. My 6 th day total. I am on 5th day of inactive pills. This is my first time every takong an oral contraceptive. ## 2 to 3 pad changes an hour is not normal, and you should consult your doctor. The FDA lists the normal side effects as possibly including irregular bleeding, dizziness, headache, vaginal dryness, mood changes, and weight changes. NDC code: 0555-9016 How long have you been taking it, now? Are on any other medications? As to the pad changes, are they full when you change them? ## Thank you. I have been on Sprintec until 11/2012 when I got pregnant. My daughter was born 9/2013 and I breastfed (on minipill) until 10/2014. I'm now on the first week of my second pack of Tri-previfem (subbed by pharmacy) and I am dying! I have severe vaginal dryness and itching. I am only 29 years old, so I'm not nearing menopause. I plan to make an ob/gyn appt after the holiday weekend, but was wondering if this is a common side affect of this drug or of it could be related to "my hormones changing" from breastfeeding. ## Hello, Kay! How are you? It could be due to either one, actually. That's usually a sign of lowered estrogen levels. You may need to switch to a different one, for now or add something else to supplement your estrogen. Side effects may include nausea, dizzi...

This is my first month being on sprintec, or any other birth control and i started my fourth white pill this morning and I still haven't had my period. I was prescribed the Sunday start plan but I was confused on how it worked so I ended up not starting the pills until a week and a day after my period. I started having cramps and normal period symptoms about a week and a half ago ( around my normal period arrive date) but no bleeding or spotting or anything. Is it normal to not have a period your first month of sprintec if you start it a week after you're suppose to??? ## Hello, Jenny! How are you? I am sorry about the confusion. Did you engage in intercourse during the first week of taking it, without using additional protection? If so, there may be a chance that you're pre...

I started taking Sprintec on December 26th and I have been bleeding since. It's very frustrating because pads are not cheap (at least the good ones) and I am using box after box. It's not heavy bleeding- but it is constant. My fiance and I haven't been able to have any type of intercourse. My bleeding is the heaviest right after I take my pill and I experience painful cramps. I want to stop taking this medication and last night and tonight I did not take my pill....will this stop the bleeding if I cease my use of Sprintec? I'm also kind of a "herbal" woman. I truly do not believe in medication. So could my body be rejecting it due to not having any type of pill in my system for years? Thank you ## Hello, Mele! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problem tha...
