Penicillin is generally not the preferred antibiotic to treat either infection. According to the NIH, the preferred one for Chlamydia is Azithromycin or Doxycycline and for Gonorrhea, it's usually Ceftriaxone. Thus, you should see your doctor to get the right medication. I am in a very remote part of Mexico. The nearest doctor is a three day trek and its the rainy season. I have an infection that by all indications is gonerrhea. The only antibioc available is Ampicilina 500 mg . Will this have any effect? ## Based on my research, pentrexyl (ampicillin) won't cure gonorrhea, but it can be used as a treatment option. There doesn't seem to be a lot of info floating around online stating how effective it will be against gonorrhea But it will have some positive effect on it. At least much better than not treating it.
