victoza victories and side effects

I have been on Victoza for over 6 months. I am 8 pounds away from my first goal weight. Yes, I had a lot of weight to lose, but now only have a total of 58 pounds left to go! I had lost much of my weight before starting on Victoza but could not lose any more weight. I would maintain the weight that I had lost and could lose no further until taking Victoza. I posed questions to my Endocrinologist today. What is the end goal for my taking of Victoza? Can I eventually stop taking Metformin, Glybyride and Victoza at all one day? Will I be able to maintain my weight loss without Victoza one day? Here are the answers he gave me to me (only). Each person's situation may be different. He said that he is switching me to a new form of Metformin which is time-released and taken by pill only 1 ... ...

The most appropriate time to take Victoza

Why not included in Victoza patient help programs?

Are there any programs which might assist me for the last six months each year? Note: Novadisk has two patient assist programs, but for reasons I cannot fathom those of us on Medicare are specifically excluded from these programs. Together, my wife and I earn 340% of the federal poverty level for a family of 2. Thanks. ...

I was on Victoza and was losing weight and my sugar count was way down then started having stomach pain very high and back aches so my dr took me off of it and put me on cycloset..i feel better but im starting to eat like i was and gaining some weight back is this normal..i need to lose wt badly. Ive been on it for one week. thanks ## Cycloset contains the active ingredient Bromocriptine and it has not been shown to cause significant weight gain. How have your blood sugar levels been? This could be just a reaction to their fluctuating from switching medications. If they are higher, because of a rebound effect, while your body gets used to the new medication, then that could be causing more hunger, so you eat more and will gain some weight. However, this should correct itself, as your bo... ...

Digesting alcohol

Since taking Victoza I feel like my stomach is digesting alcohol differently. I feel like I have a hangover the next day even if I just have a few drinks. ## Hello, Terry! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem you're having. Likely, it is due to 2 issues, the first issue, which I am not sure you are aware of is that alcohol can lower your blood sugar levels, thus when you drink, it could be making it drop too low. Have you ever checked your levels, after having a few drinks? The next issue is that alcohol can enhance the side effects of a medication, so you may experience more nausea, dizziness and drowsiness than usual, after having a few drinks, as reported by the FDA. So, there is probably good reasons why you feel that way. Most medications, when combined with alcohol, ca... ...
