Kvk Tech Oxycodone 30mg Ir (Page 2) (Top voted first)

Updated

I was taking activis 30mg IR for a long time. It worked really well on pain with minimal narcotic effect. Now they only have KVK brand oxycodone. This is by far the worst medication for pain I have ever had. It has a strong long lasting narcotic effect with no pain relief at all. I'm taking it back to my Dr and getting a new perscription. Does anyone know who carries Activis and/or a brand that is comparable?

Hey,
Hello,...the poster was complaining about KVK, NOT ACTIVIS...you have your reply answer backwards, I believe.

I got the kvk-tech 20 mg for the first time. It only makes you high like a street drug it makes you very high for a few minutes but does absolutely not touch the pain at all now I'm gonna be forced to suffer 23 more days like this it was a new Sam's Club because my normal Sam's Club shorted me 30 pills a month before last then this last month the didn't report to Dea it was filled so I almost didn't get my meds this month. I don't know what to do

You are right. I just started getting the kvk and they are the worst. I was getting the Actavis, the best, and another that was a 215 that was really good for pain. Now I get these and they are junk. Guess I will have to find a new pharmacy.

I take five 30mg oxycodone's per day and was having recurrent urinary tract infections for two years. After Walgreens started using ACTIVIS brand instead of KVK my uti's stopped! I have not had one almost 2 years! I am certain the KVK brand caused my urinary tract infections!

I recently received a refill on my 30 mg oxycodon tablets. I've been with same pharmacy for years, never a problem, in fact she told me I wss receiving kick truck the whole time, but this batch wss different, it made my heart race wouldn't let me sleep, couldn't eat. This went on for 10 days, I was ready to commit myself, till I called my doctor and he took me off them, perceived a sedatives, which finally let me sleep, I haven't taken another one since, but out wss like they were cut with speed, like the one guy said street drugs. I'm still sick and slowly recovering but it a long road ahead. Please don't get kvk tech meds, find another way. They will ruin your life like they ruined mine.

Kvk Tech 10 mg oxymorphone is terrible. I had been using another generic for Opana for at least six months with no problems period but because kvk has flooded the market with their cheap garbage it is impossible to find any other generic manufacturers, at least not without pre-ordering from your Pharmacy which can be problematic. My advice is to check the pharmacy beforehand if possible or you will run into serious problems yourself.

In Florida Walgreens carries A215. But good. Luck the pharmacist is now a Dr. And can magically diagnose you by looking at you

I feel for you all. Three days ago I never heard of KVK Tech. Then my pharmacist sold me one of their medications, dextroamphetamine, for ADHD. I experienced next to no medicinal effect, had horrendous side effects and went into withdrawal taking their crap. I found this thread looking for evidence of KVK Tech shorting the active ingredients and including adulterants in its medications. Today I filed a complaint with the FDA.

Google "KVK Tech employee reviews" and read what former employees have to say about this company. KVK is ruthless and does not give a crap about their employees either.

In my FDA complaint I included a link to a former KVK Tech employee post staying how management circumvents FDA regulations and when the FDA visits, the CEO runs and hides because the FDA has banned him from pharma work, per the former worker. It's that bad. I'll never take one of their products ever again.

Rong, several of my friends and myself have different types of chronic pain illness. We have been sold KVK Tech Inc. pills, that we all call the "poison pills" by Kroger (which is also King Sooper) Safeway and Walgreens. I was also told that this is within the law, that the FDA allows a scale of effectiveness and that these pills are on the low end of the scale. Suggest you contact your doctor and ask for a different pain medication. Walgreens employee told me that they purchased millions of these knowing they don't work, and that leads me to believe that Safeway and Kroger did the same. Have your doctor prescribe something different and let these corporations "eat" their own greed.

Ash,
I look through different places on the website, cause really good information is sometimes posted in some strange conversations LOL. Several people have mentioned that the 30mg, 20mg etc., aren't working in controlling their pain and they aren't sure what the problem is. Some seem to think they have built a tolerance very quickly, some think the problem lies with their whole pain management program, some think it's the doctor, and for a long time I wasn't sure why I was having such a problem with my medication being effective. I was prescribed 30mg oxycodone 5x daily and was able to function and able to participate in my family life. I am a chronic pain patient and without effective pain control, I do not function.
Took a couple years of my problems and others input to put it together. The KVK Tech manufactured oxycodone are not effective for me in relieving my pain and cause me to experience side effects. I live in the mountains of Colorado and there are three pharmacies within a 25 mile drive, but now all three carry only KVK oxy. So I now drive a 70 mile trip to the nearest large city to an independently owned pharmacy.
Cutting pills in half and taking different dosage at different times etc., my doctor suggested all, and none of that worked, but the brand was KVK LOL. Someone on this site explained how the FDA allows a "fudge factor" on the effectiveness on medications, and not just pain medication, all medication. Talked to the pharmacy, and they explained the same thing, that it's legal for different manufacturers to have less effective medication on the market.

Pharmacy explained that normal fudge factor is around 12% but sometimes pain meds are up to 20% less effective. Different buffers/fillers are used and as this is what transmits the actual medication to your CNS, the pain medication may not even be getting there, but it's in your body so you can still OD.

KVK TECH is the worst brand for Oxy-IR.

Seeing when this thread started, it's quite ironic that I started having problems with my pain medication in March, 2014, when Walgreens switched FROM Actavis to KVK Tech because it was "cheaper for them". I had the worst month of my life, STUCK with a month's worth of KVK Tech pills.

My doctor said I probably built up a tolerance and wanted to increase my dose. I said I doubted it was a tolerance issue because of the timing. My last pill with Actavis worked just fine. My first pill with KVK, I felt zero pain relief, and I mean ZERO, taking 15mg tabs, about 8 per day. I declined the increase because the Actavis works just fine and I am not ready for an increase related to tolerance issues.

Needless to say, I found a very large chain pharmacy/retailer, that will order what ever brand I request and keep it in stock. I am the only person using that pharmacy who is on this medication and dose, so it has not been a problem getting my medication monthly. He always has it there. This was nearly 1 year ago and I have not had a problem since. I STILL do not require an increase in my dose.

I hope all of you will boycott KVK TECH, no matter what it takes. It is an absolute sin, what they have done with their pills. For you KVK-tech, think about this.......Someone could suffer severe withdrawal, including seizures and it will be all on you. Think about this. For people who start off with KVK Tech, they don't know the difference. If the pills don't relieve the pain, the doctor will increase the dose. However, THINK ABOUT THIS...........what if the person on KVK tech switches to Actavis or another brand with the CORRECT amount of the drug in their pills (or the correct release as it relates to binders)and that person suffers an overdose because they were not used to getting the new CORRECT dosage? So, for the FDA (who allows this 12% BS), think about that!

My mind is blown that this is even allowed. It's all math. If a manufacturer cannot put together a 15mg or 30mg pill with the correct amount of the drug, they should not be licensed to manufacture it. What is the reason for this allowance? It's not our technology, so what is it? Who is getting paid off? You can blame the binders all day long, but it all comes down to bioavailability. Instead of examining the pills for content and milligrams, do a study where blood levels are checked at 2-hours, half-life, and steady-state. You will see for yourself that KVK Tech is obviously skimping on the amount of drug they are actually using. Being on my dose for so long with complete relief from pain and then all of a sudden SUFFER terribly with the 1st to the last dose of a new brand and then going back to my old brand where relief is felt immediately with the first dose, is total proof that something is terribly wrong with KVK Tech. If you want to blame the fillers/binders, I should have been pain-free once I reached stead-state with the new drug brand KVK. But I never was. Not once in 30 days was my pain relieved.

I did not file a report with the FDA because I knew it would go nowhere. My blood still boils that I suffered so much last March, 2014, needlessly, and because of greed (IMO). Who knows, there could be other motives as well. If KVK gets enough complaints, (and I'm sure they have), why wouldn't they change their "fillers" (since that is their excuse). Because the FDA doesn't demand it. It's probably an inside job where someone is eating the difference - pun intended.

FDA, PLEASE reconsider your allowance of 12% give/take if this is true. There is no reason for it, and zero excuse with today's technology. There should be zero allowance on the difference between brands. Math is math. 15mg is 15mg. This can be fatal to someone dependent on a critical heart medication also. I really don't know how the study is done, but it needs to be changed to monitor blood levels if you're going to blame fillers.

The studies need to be done more frequently, and without KVK's knowledge that it is being done. This will prevent them from changing their formulation, knowing a study is coming up. PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS PROBLEM!!!!!

Hi. Everyone who is looking for Actavis oxycodone IR, you are going to find they make the 15 mg. I was just switched TO 20mg oxycodone kvk tech FROM 15mg oxycodone IR (Actavis). It sounds like Actavis may not make anything higher than 15mg pills in Oxycodone IR. I PERSONALLY, am very pleased with the Kvk in 20mg as far as pain relief....actually I was happy with the 15 mg Actavis too. IT WAS WHEN ACTAVIS TOOK OVER PERCOCET THAT I, ALONG WITH THOUSANDS TO MILLIONS OF OTHER PEOPLE, WAS HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED. I hope this helped.

Re: Joe (# 39) Expand Referenced Message

It is truly amazing how each one of us seem to either get great relief or none from the exact same pharma mfg co. for the exact same medication. I have to take several 30 mg Instant Release Oxycodone daily for my post surgical chronic severe pain in my back. I only want KVK Tech Oxycodone as it is the best I have found for my pain. Yes, I have taken other pharma's manufactured Oxycodone for the same script above and they DO NOT work nearly as well as my KVK Tech Oxycodone 30 mg IR. BY FAR IT COMES DOWN TO THIS: our body chemistries are all different and what may work well for one patient may not in the next patient. In addition, how we all metabolize the same med is all different for all of us. Surprisingly, many doctors are unaware of the differences by different pharma mfg's for the exact same type and strength of a narcotic product. It is TRULY SCARY and incredible what the hell is going on out there regarding this whole scenario. The feds allow a 10-15% variance of even the main ingredient in the manufacturing of yes-- oxycodone!!.... and many, many other med's main active ingredient as well....absolutely ridiculous what is going in the pharma world. Some of these companies are pure and purposely manipulating the making of narcotics. Huge felonious acts by these companies. Another contributing factor in all this is that many, many manufacturers use different "binding agents" which are part of the "recipe" or making of this particular narcotic pill.

I once had my 30mg IR Oxycodone script filled by a small chain pharmacy approx a year ago and they filled it from a mfg named "Sun Pharmaceuticals".....oh my goodness, I got no relief from my pain and I learned a big lesson...only use what works for my body! I was just informed today by my current pharmacy where I found KVK Tech Oxycodone that their supplier can no longer acquire it for their particular pharmacy....so here I go again....trying to find a pharmacy who carries it or CAN ORDER IT FOR ME......and that is a another story in itself. I have also learned many manufacturers are acquiring each other like mad.

I do hope this will give some of you some helpful information of my knowledge and experiences in the pharma world. Nothing like experience with products and "word of mouth" is still the best way to learn of pros and cons of a particular product(s). I wish we all (especially chronic pain people like many of us) did not even have to be concerned with all these pain meds. Oh, that would be so nice. We just want a good quality of life........and I bet I would be seeing all heads going up and down if we were all in a room right now.

Good luck to all of you...and just remember there are always some good folks out there who have conditions worse than our own....Somehow that gives me a little peace of mind when I think about myself...maybe it will help you, too.

Is this thread still active? I am amazed to run across this as I was searching to find if oxycodone came in a 30mg tablet. I was on 20mg tablets and they were workong, then the pharmacy switched to another brand. I had surgery at this same time. Since I hav3 a tolerance to pain med from long term use, I was in horrible pain. The surgeon said tlmtake 30mgs every 3 hours by breaking the 20s in half and taking one and a half. It made me really sick! I had to choose between suffering horribly or feeling like I had taken a toxin. I chose to suffer. The 20mgs did not go, back to working for my chronic pain (since they were not really before). I assumed it was more tolerance build up, until,I saw this discussion. I'd love to find a brand that would simply go back to relieving chronic pain, no side effects, and being able to,think and function normally. I'm seeing that isnt going to happen with my walgreens kvk generic brand. What options are there, if any?? We have very few pharmacies where we are. They all seem to carry this same kvk.

you have a serious problem see a specialist.. When I was majorly hooked on perc's I had same issue. I would Google the brand to see if its good and gives a good high. Reading all the treads increased my anxiety and my brain made me feel the pills won't working. Now I do the opposite. When I read these threads I think it's going to kick my ass. And guess what it does. If you re building all these stress hormones thinking the pills won't work you re swimming upstream. stay calm and mellow and all will be good..

I too was switched to the KVK Oxycodone 30mg tablets. I have a comment regarding the Walgreen's employee who told Susie that Walgreen's purchased millions of these tablets by KVK. I raise an eyebrow to that statement as I am very close to the pharmacy manager in the Walgreen's Store where I fill my class 2 meds. One time I asked him about the amount of meds that Walgreens orders for their stores and why they stopped dispensing the Activis brand? The manager told me that they are not privy to this information and they have no clue when they will go back to dispensing the Activis as the distribution centers do not disclose any information to the pharmacists. Also, the pharmacists cannot request certain brands be shipped to them. On the other hand, I used to go to a mom and pop pharmacy and the owner told me he could request Activis or Mallinckrodt.

My last comment is about the difference in the KVK Oxycodone 30mg tablets and the Activis tablets. I have found the KVK to be weaker than the Activis but absolutely no side effects. This is a very common complaint with customers who are used to one brand of a class 2 med and they like the results they received from the brand they have been consuming for months and years. The same thing happened when Purdue formulated the tamper proof Oxycontin. Many people complained that not only were the tamper proof Oxycontin tablets weaker but that they were going into withdrawls and they got headaches and all kinds of ailments from those wretched pills. Now you barely hear a word about the reformulated tablets. It was obvious that the abusers didn't like the fact that they couldn't break up the reformulated tablets to misuse them. Plain and simple. You can forget the FDA doing anything about this crusade to ban the KVK brand as it will not happen. Learn to live with them or go to CVS and get their house brand which is Qualitest. In my opinion, I think that the Qualitest are weaker than the KVK. Good luck abusers as you know who you are. You cannot fool a recovering addict. We know all the tricks and all the lingo and all the stories that are repeated over generations of this insanity.
