I have moderate to severe Degenerative Disc Disease of Cervical Spine with severe narrowing (stenosis) along with bulging and herniated discs with severe arthritis (osteo) also in cervical spine with boney spurs. I also have Fibromyalgia, Chronic Myofascial Pain Syndrome ad Chronic Fatigue. My pain management doc has done many different procedures, non giving much relief and no long term relief. She has told me there is nothing more she can do. So, I need a Primary Care Doctor who will take over writing my Morphine and Muscle Relaxer. My current Primary Care doctor said she trusted me totally but could not write RX for opiates. I need help. I will not be able to function without some pain meds. I live in Gen Allen, a Richmond, VA suburb. Please helpp. Thank you.

Hi My Mom is in the same boat as all of you shes 62 and been on methadone and oxy 30 for over 20 yrs I moved her to richmond thinking I could take care of her and now I cant find a doctor that will prescribe her meds sh has no cartlidge in between her virtabres in her spine please please if any one knw a good doc that will help I will be forever greatfulP.S shes out of meds and we all know that being on it that long it could b really bad.... Thank you in advance for any help

Courtney..it is very hard to get any meds like that here. I would really recommend calling a methadone clinic. There is one on Radford Avenue. It doesn't mean she's an addict..but she is dependent. You must talk to them and tell them your situation. She will most likely have at best severe withdrawals with possible seizures. They know that and should be able to do something, at least short-term maintenance. But please don't wait. If she gets sick, which she will, get her to an ER, and try to take any records, x-rays, etc. with you. Be completely honest with them. I would not recommend going to Bon Secours.. Especially St. Mary's. If you have to go, go to Henrico Doctors on Forest.

Looking for pain doctor in Richmond Va as well. Have called all the facility here and they all say not hey don't use opiates for pain relief just injections what is going on? Been on meds since 1989 since a car accident and multiple back surgeries from neck to my lumbar region. Are people just gonna let us go into withdrawals? Does anyone have a doctor taking patients?

Hi I seen you are in my area, I was seeing a pm doc, but he stopped talking my ins back in dec, I have DDD, STENOSIS, BULGING DICSC, FIBRO, I had seen you were looking around for a doctor, and asked the person above. I have posted on one other blog, people don't want to help other people out who need help. They people who abused it, ruined it for the people who need it. I also have a MRI.

Dr. Bonner does not prescribe narcotics. At least he didn't about eight years ago. Bluebell I wish we all had a way to exchange doctor names and info. That's what this is supposed to be for..A lot of us really need help.

Kat- Thats exactly what I said in my last reply. It does none of us any kind of good if we aren't able to "Communicate and Network." As if it weren't hard enough on us Chronic Pain sufferers already, especially with all the new "regulations" and whatnot, but we can't share/exchange/suggest, etc if we aren't able to communicate directly with one another!
