This pill is a multivitamin used for the prevention and treatment of iron deficiency. Multivitamins are generally regarded as safe as long as you don't down the entire bottle.

Possible side effects of Terraferron can include any of the following:
Constipation and diarrhea, heartburn, nausea, and vomiting.

If you take normal doses as recommended by your doctor or as stated on the bottle, you're likelihood of experiencing these minor effects are much slimmer.

If you have any more questions or comments to add, please post back so I can further assist you.

To my knowledge, Terraferon (or any multivitamin for that matter) will not make you fat. Terraferon has no genetically modified ingredients added (from what I could tell) and no calories.

Each caplet contains the following ingredients:
Fe sulfate (equiv to elemental Fe 65 mg) 200 mg
Folic acid (400 mcg)
Vitamin B1 (2 mg)
Vitamin B2 (2 mg)
Vitamin B6 (2 mg)
Vitamin B12 (10 mcg)
Vitamin C (100 mg)
Nicotinamide (20 mg)

As far as supplemental dosing goes, the usual dose is 1-2 caps daily.

I hope this information helps!

David Says:
Hi Ron,

While there is some stigma regarding the use of Multivitamins and those with Asthma, my research suggests that this risk is only prevalent in infants.

You can read more about this in the link below:

"At recommended doses, Nicomide is expected to be well tolerated. Gastrointestinal distress such as nausea or vomiting have been associated with the administration of nicotinamide or zinc at doses greater than the recommended dose of Nicomide.

Usual adult dose is one tablet taken once or twice a day or as prescribed by a physician." - the same dosage as noted in Terraferron.

That said, I don't see a reason why it would be unsafe to take Terraferon if you have asthma; but that was definitely a good question that needed to be addressed, given the take on early multivitamin use and asthma!

Why does terraferron have nicotinamide when it is for pregnant women? Should a pregnant woman take it since nicotinamide is for the treatment of acne and has anti-inflammatory properties not necessary for a pregnant woman?

I have been delayed by 8 months until now. I'm not actively having intercourse. I'm still fourteen years old. My first mens was september 16th. My blood pressure is low, it's 90/60. My doctor recommended this medicine to take one capsule before eating dinner. So im hoping to read this. Thank you.
