Subutex 460 Vs 54 411 (Page 2) (Top voted first)

Updated

Does the Buprenorphine 8mg 460 work as well as 54 411's? I'm curious as I've seen other imprints, just not 460. Please let me know if they are better or worse.

Who knows but it's scary. I have actual blisters under my tongue from them and I have never had any problems with the 54 411 pill. How long can this go on? We are fragile people in recovery and this is making me think crazy things like we are getting placebos or something

Roxanne56, Yea it's a shame how the pharmacy employees treat us. At my little mom & pop pharmacy, they are always kind and welcoming but they know us subutex patients are willing to hand over $400 cash bc they do not accept insurance on this medicine. But whatever the reason for their kindness, I do not care. I just want the same basic human respect I show them, no matter what I'm getting filled. Bc at the end of the day we are all human beings and we all have stuff we're struggling with or have struggled with in the past. I hate when people act like they are above me and act like I'm just a worthless druggie. I mean I know they've probably had to deal with people getting this medicine filled who acted a damn fool, but that doesn't mean we are all like that. Most all the big chains will not help you in the least bit, the ones I've dealt with anyways. They just say no and are so rude about it and if I've ever ask if they know of any other place that carries it, they snap at me and say no I have no idea. That "blink" app is awesome if one could find a big chain pharmacy that had subutex. You pay blink under $150 and on your 1st script u get 15% off, and they work with Walmart, CVS, Kroger, Rite Aid, etc. and u go to the pharmacy and show them where you've already paid blink bc you receive a confirmation after you send blink your money and then you go pick it up at the pharmacy. I guess blink pays the pharmacy. But I've researched A LOT about it and there are so many articles talking about how it's saved ppl so much money. But the thing is you'd have to find a big chain pharmacy that works with blink who consistently carries subutex. Next time I'm at Walmart I'm going to ask the pharmacist if they'll order it if I pay blink since they work with them, or will I have to go on a hunt for a pharmacy that carries subutex first. Bc until I know for sure I'm not paying blink and then I'm unable to find a pharmacy. Bc I do not have insurance either, like the other post mentioned. But if someone could get everything worked out with blink, that'd save some major money. I'd just make sure to research the hell out of it and ask your pharmacy before u spend any money. But yes, if someone would start a petition, I'd definitely sign it. Pharmacies treat us so unfairly it's awful. Also, we shouldn't be taken advantage of either bc that's what these small pharmacies are doing bc they know the big chains deny us left and right so they can easily charge $400-$800. Which they have every right to charge what they want, but still after paying the doctor and pharmacy I have walked out of the pharmacy MANY times with $2 to my name. But I did this to myself, I am aware. But it just sucks when u are trying to overcome addiction and live a normal life you have to constantly be belittled, turned down, shunned away, and labeled bc of a mistake you are trying to fix. At least we are trying to get better and that should be looked at as a good thing.

No no no I didn't take his medicine. That is what he said, they tasted like the 8 mg ones and that he likes them. I've got my own medicine, no need to take his. I typed that msg when HE first got them...and said I instead of he, bc he had just tried them like 5 mins before I wrote this post. calm down, it was just a typo. I was looking on the internet regarding that type of pill for him bc we hadn't seen them before. I take this seriously. I've been in recovery for 6 years and need my medicine as much as anyone else. A lot of other people out here selling them and acting stupid in pharmacies are the ones that are screwing it up for everyone else. Not a typo on a post...I just think it's a shame how pharmacies want to be when illicit drugs are so bad. You'd think they'd want people to be on subutex vs. street drugs. But $800+ sounds crazy, I've never seen them priced that high. My doctor is trying to reduce me now and I'm actually ready to be off it. Too much hassle, money, and time and I'd be so happy if I could do it. Hope I can soon. But I've been in a lot of pharmacies and they all are rude and tell me no. I've went to medicine shoppe as well and they have a waiting list. I've spent days going to different pharmacies. So as long as my little mom & pop pharmacy keeps them I'll be okay. It's just not like this in other states was the point I was getting to and I wonder why it has to be so difficult here to get the help u need.

kdmrXohio YES! I would sign the petition, and so would everyone I know. That is the talk of my doctor visits just about every month. Everyone speaks about how unfairly rite aid, cvs, Walmart, Walgreens and other big chains treat them. I think a lot of people on this medicine would agree to sign a petition. & if the 460s are giving certian people problems, their CVS should cater to the customer and order a different brand or it shouldn't be an issue to go to another pharmacy down the street instead of driving around for days and wasting time and gas trying to find a pharmacy that will fill their medicine. I've driven 2+ hours just to get turned down at every turn for this medicine. It's not right AT ALL. Like I said, I don't know if a lot of other states experience this. But I know PA, OH, and WV are horrible for it. TN and VA were not bad and you could get them filled almost anywhere. I even took a PA prescription of subutex to VA and the DEA # checked out, I had a valid ID, and got them filled no problem. But in PA I went into a rite aid and politely asked if they carried it and the woman legit acted scared and stepped backwards from the counter...her welcoming demeanor instantly changed when I mentioned subutex. Big chain pharmacies should not have the right to choose which medicine they will carry OR fill for people as long as the DEA# checks out, the doctor is legit, and you have a state issued ID (from any state) they should cater to the customer. Neighboring states should not be able to deny you, that is ridiculous bc 6 hours away filled a PA script so obviously it isn't against the law. It is the pharmacists! Bc the guy I talked to from rite aid told me that the pharmacist can deny whoever he/she wishes. Which is crap! I don't know if that is a legit law but as long as everything is legal, I don't see how they can. I'm pretty sure it's not a law bc why would a rite aid in VA fill a PA script. Pharmacies are there to fill medicine for people. I don't see how they can pick and choose which disease or illness they will help people with, that's what it boils down to. I wonder if they treat people the same that are prescribed pain pills? I have been angry about this for years I can't understand how it's legal or ethical. So yes, 100% I'd sign a petition, this is discrimination and it seems illegal to me, but I'm not sure. But It is for sure discrimination.

The 460 gave me a complete adverse effect! I had some withdrawals switching from 54 411 to the 460. My body must be used to the 54 411 pills. I think they work way better... but that may just be because that it what I am used to. Looks like I'm going to have to find a different pharmacy than CVS to use!

Hey buddy, you’re all over the place with your facts and would rather prove someone wrong it seems than stay on topic. The topic is two different kinds of subutex and the difference between the two. I can speak first hand and go ahead and let you know that even though they are supposed to be the same, I personally can speak on the fact that when I was switched at cvs from 54 411 to 460 I was completely disappointed in the 460. It seems to have about 4/5th the potency including the sickenly sweet taste. That’s what we’re talking about. That’s all my opinion.

They don't work as well in my opinion. The 460 imprint subutex are trash. I feel just as bad as if I had nothing at all in my system. Take these off the market! This company clearly don't know what they are doing.

I am in the same boat and the only seemingly valid answer I'm getting is try to find a mom and pops pharmacy in your area, but be aware that asking for a particular med from a particular manufacturer may not be the only issue that arises. Im being told that they may refuse any insurance you may have forcing you to pay cash for your entire script as well as overcharge you sighting increased expenses ordering for you as their justification. Seems like this is gonna turn into price gouging to me. I've gotten nowhere with CVS. They are only about the all mighty dollar as well.

Tim I too have compared ingredients. While I agree they are made of the same components for the most part, how much of each is where the difference is causing problems

If they gave you the 460 buprenorphine I suggest you have your prescription bottle handy and call CVS Help Desk. If enough of us call they can't ignore it.

Crg i apologize, i wasn't trying to jump down your throat, i've just read other comments that were insinuating unnecessary things and it's frustrating bc i just read an article on my local news website where 32 people were arrested in a "Suboxone-Subutex drug ring" and the officer whom was reporting the incident was saying how everyone gets "addicted" to them, and it's an "epidemic", and then they have to get their "fix" -- using words like that and speaking of this medication as if it were illicit and people are fending for it which i most definitely don't see how they view it this way, but it's sooo irritating when they put this stigma over a whole group of people just because of a few people's actions. And Dani who thinks she's so coy with her comment, i'm not going to debate with you but I'll say this, you honestly have to be so uninformed to think there is no possibility that this medication can be discontinued in the near future because of what is going on with people being arrested for selling medication, or getting kicked out of clinics for manipulating drug panels or just failing them continuously. A CLINIC NEAR ME JUST GOT SHUT DOWN A MONTH AGO BC THE PHYSICIANS ASSOCIATED WITH IT REFUSED TO RELEASE PATIENTS' INFORMATION TO D.E.A. AGENTS! ...And this comes after the previous time DEA visited them, about a year ago at which time they cut the clinic's Subutex supply (it was a 2-in-1 clinic/pharmacy) and made them switch 90% of patients' prescriptions who were previously taking it, to Suboxone. The ONLY exceptions were if they had a document from a CERTIFIED ALLERGIST stating their PROVEN allergy, or were breastfeeding an infant UNDER 6 months of age. Does that not tell you they are checking in to things?!?! I think so... And for the record it has nothing to do with being "self-righteous"; it is having concern for the portion of the recovery community that utilizes M.A.T. as their chosen route to recovery.

kdmrXohio it's alright, it did sound like I meant that I took them after I re-read it, but I didn't mean that at all. He actually said he likes the 460s. Maybe others just have different reactions to the inactive ingredients in them. But I use to go to a clinic in TN a few years ago before I moved up north. Down there the doctors would hardly prescribe subutex at all, you were incredibly lucky if you got it, most everyone I talked to was on suboxone. So when I moved up north it was amazing to me that so many clinics wrote subutex Without a doctors note or being pregnant or nursing. So some places like TN has already cut down big time of prescribing subutex. But the pharmacies here are the places that are the most difficult to deal with. I've never in my life heard of big pharmacies turning away customers, not carrying or offering to order medication a doctor is prescribing you. That's what pharmacies are there for, to fill medication a doctor writes for you in order to help you. It has completely blown my mind and most pharmacies look at you like you are a criminal for even asking. I went into a Walgreens once in PA and after asking if they carried subutex the pharmacy tech rolled her eyes, huffed real loudly and was like "NO!" Then i said well thanks and she said well sometimes we do and sometimes we don't, I never know when they are going to send it. What a stupid answer.

The pharmacist orders the medicine for customers, so if they have constant customers getting it, they have to keep reordering it. And I don't see how big chains can say no to a legal prescription and a paying customer. I actually talked to someone pretty high up from rite aid and even he acted like there was nothing he could do about this problem. But yes, there is a huge stigma around subutex and the people selling their pills for street drugs, the people selling their medicine out in the parking lots of the clinic and cops getting called, failed drug panels like u said and ppl bringing in fake urine, and the ones acting like complete hellions when a pharmacy turns them down may hurt the availability of clinics and the very limited availability of pharmacies who actually carry it. Those people are the ones giving this subutex a bad name. It saved my life and I know it has many others too. It makes me feel normal and that's it! It's the people out selling theirs for other drugs that make it look bad and that's what law enforcement and anyone of power and authority see. The bad acts, the addicts getting subutex and suboxone to sell for other stuff. Bc when u are completely on subutex you feel normal, nothing more nothing less. I use to get energy off it but it doesn't even do that for me anymore. But those people are not going to stop and I just hope until I can get off of this, they won't crack down on it even more than they already have.

Re: CrazyDiamond (# 11) Expand Referenced Message

I'm sorry you are going through this. I too had this happen to me. I switched to Walgreens and got screwed bad because of the change of companies, I was happy with Walmart's 54 11's but me and some young chump ass pharmacist had words and I was actually in the right, but I started going to Walgreens and they had the orange Actavis and I experienced the same situation you explained in your message. So I had to hide my true feelings and go back to Walmart just so I could feel well again. You know I'm really getting tired of society and the way they think they can just s*** on us and act like we have to accept it. Screw them sorry people. Who made who, you know what I'm saying? Anyways I hope you find a resolution on your next go around but don't be afraid to exercise your options maybe try getting only ten filled next time and if you don't like them have them transfer your prescription to another pharmacy but try communication with the pharmacy and f***ed them if they don't like it, they should have thought about that s*** in college huh?

Re: Elly (# 43) Expand Referenced Message

That isn't true- ab them making everyone but pregnant women stop taking subutex. Don't listen to it. I heard it last year and freaked out and finally asked my nurse and doctor and they laughed lol

They are worse. I feel horrible, I am dizzy, I have no energy and I am depressed as well as having cravings. When I first got on subutex it was great. I felt amazing for the first time. Everyday, I felt like I was going to be a productive member of society. These 460 are bad. I have been at my worst since the 24th. My doctor is going to write me a new script so I can get another brand and get back to loving life. I advise against taking the 460. They will ruin your recovery.
