I started taking Chantix on Dec. 02, 2007. So this is my second week on the Chantix. I haven't had real bad side effects. I have had an upset stomach and diarrhea, but like someone else said, I'm not sure it's related to the Chantix. I thought maybe I caught a flu bug. Anyhow, I wanted to ask you all if it's normal that I still have the craving for wanting a cigarrette. I thought for sure that it would've subsided somewhat, but it's still there. I noticed longer periods of time in between wanting one, but I still want one. :( If there is any advice anyone can offer, I would greatly appreciate it! ## I started taking this pill 2 weeks ago, about one week into it I started feeling side effects of nausiated stomach, to the point of not wanting to eat as I was concer...

I have been taking Chantix for 4 days in a row and I feel horrible!!! how soon will this be out of my system?? ## Hello, Jodi! How are you doing? If you only took it for 4 days, it shouldn't take long for the side effects to wear off, a few days at most. What types of side effects did you experience? The most common ones are nausea, insomnia and abnormal dreams. ## It takes about 2 weeks for your system to acclimate to chantix. If you don't feel your side effects subsiding by then and you want to stop using it. You need to wean yourself off over a 2 weeks period. Or you will experience more side effects. Chantix is Bupropion which is Wellbutrin. Just so you know. Good luck and I hope it works out for you.

i found this pill and its more oval than oblong but there is only a m on it and thats it. I have researched it but found nothing. ## Can you provide more of a description of the M? I'm assuming it's a logo, but I'm trying to get a better idea of where to look. If there are no other letters or numbers, then my best guess is that it's likely an over the counter product. Learn more OTC drug details here. Any additional information you can provide would be helpful, including the general location where it was found. ## White oval oblong pill....Blank on one side...and a Big capital "M" ## I finally figured out that the white oval M pill was a nicorette mint/lozenge. ## A white oval pill imprinted with an M & other half design other side blank

These "how to quit smoking" findings are incredible! I really believe that these tips and devices can help smoking cessation. I particularly have found a brilliant way to stop smoking definitively. This is called Autogenic Training. It's not my invention. It is an Audio Program. It has lots of research to support the achievements of the method. In this method you will train yourselves to relax while reprogramming your brain in the way to stop smoking. It is kind of self anti smoking hypnosis. These techniques helped me to stop drinking alcohol. I really think that Autogenic Training will help me to quit smoking cigarettes in an enjoyable way. I am amazed by the results and really committed to quit cigarettes. I am not specialized in that subject but I think it works. Sorry f...

Chantix does work--But it would be nice if someone had told me the terrible side effects that can happen. Side effects that a person must live with for the rest of their lives. RLS is a terrible side effect that does NOT go away after you stop taking Chantix. It effects every moment of of your life waking and sleeping! I'm not saying no one should use Chantix but if I had known the serious side effects that can be life altering I don't think I would have taken that risk. It is my 3rd day with no sleep due to RLS. I lost my job of 20 years, because I can't function on 3-4 hours of sleep in 48 hours. I just think people need to know what they may be risking before they decide to start Chantix thats all. ## Be aware people - I am fairly young and all of a sudden I developed thi...

I took champix in jan 2008 and had my first seizure in march 2008, the first one of my life. No history of epilepsy in my family. I have had no brain injury, no illness that has coursed it. This tablet has ruined my life. I have fits about once a month in my sleep. Even with medication. I have the most dangerous kind. It has affected my memory, I struggle to spell and get words mixed up. ## Champix is another brand name for Chantix, most commonly used for smoking cessation. Have your doctors confirmed that it was caused by the medication? There have been reports of it causing some severe medical problems for some users. In the U.S. there are even some pursuing a class action suit. I am very sorry to read of what you have suffered and we thank you for posting this to help alert others th...

I've been taking chantix for a month. It does not cure addiction, but helps significantly to reduce cravings. The only side-effect that bothers me is dry eyes. I had mild problem with dry eyes, but I think now it's worse. Has anybody experienced something similar while on the drug? ## I have been taking it for about a month and have dry and irritated eyes especially when looking at a computer monitor for even a few minutes.

Starting my third week tomorrow on Chantix and having the same problem I had with it a couple of years ago. About 3-4 weeks ion, I start developing sores in my mouth. Mostly tip of the tongue, inside the bottom lip. Called my Dr. last time and he told me to quit taking the Chantix. I was smoking again within days. I am doing so well on this that I hate to quit taking it, but really can't stand the pain from the sores. Any thoughts? Thanks. ## You should really contact your doctor, because the sores may be the sign of a possible serious and dangerous reaction to the medication. If it isn't dangerous, they may be able to advise you of some way to treat them, or minimize the pain. Does anyone else have any advice to add? ## I had the same problem, it seemed as soon as one would go ...

How long will chantix stay in the body after you stop taking it? I have a physical coming up and I'm just wondering if I need to worry about testing positive for any DOT regulated drug? ## I take Zoloft and Chantix. I had a urine test the other day for school. Will it show a positive for drugs? This is a DOT.

I read in a truckers magazine article last month that taking Chantix and driving commercially don't mix and the FMCSA has issued an order to suspend all people from driving while on this medication. It also said that it caused homicidal idealation and suicide in some people. I took the Chantix for about a month and stopped taking it because I am BiPolar and I started having irrational thoughts and couldn't sleep. I was also very irritable. ## Such issues are possible with most medications, we are all different, so not everyone will experience the same issues. But the FDA does warn that you shouldn't drive, or operate heavy machinery, while taking most drugs. The irrational thoughts, as well as thoughts of suicide can also be side effect, in which case the NIH does advise tha...

How are you doing? Has there been any change? You should really have this checked out by your doctor, as those could be signs of a cardiac issue, which the FDA warns that this medication has been known to cause in some people that take it. There is a good chance that it's nothing, but better safe, than sorry. Typical side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, he...

I have smoked 10-20 cigarettes a day for over 30 years and never believed I could quit. When I started taking Chantix just over three weeks ago, I must confess I was skeptical. But it worked!! It's been 19 days since my last cigarette and the withdrawal has been much easier than I'd ever anticipated. It did take me 10 days of being on Chantix before it really began working for me, so don't give up if you don't quit on that 7th day. I cannot even begin to express how very thankful I am for this product. One thing that might help those who want to quit but aren't ready yet: try not smoking in your car, your house, etc. I did than many years ago and it has probably made it a little easier for me. I literally thank God for Chantix! ## Thank you for the words of encourage...

Hi, I took chantix for 6 weeks. I am glad I quit smoking after nearly forty years but while on it I couldn't bare the nausea and the stomach upset. I quit after taking it for six week but now I get headaches and I feel like I am going to pass out several times a day. Has anyone experienced this side effect. ## Sorry to hear you are having such a hard time. Lately there has been cases where people have gotten late onset diabetes. It is type 1, insulin dependent. They got it shortly after taking chantix. You may want to see a docter. Also check for these symptoms, very thirsty all the time, using restroom a lot and loosing weight. Those are also good signs of type 1 diabetes ## I suffer from the same thing. I thought maybe it was my BP but when it was checked it was good. I would like...

Hi all. I have been a "lite" smoker (5-10 a day for nearly 30 years). My husband smokes a pack a day and long story short he got on Chantix about 10 days ago. The starter kit where you take .5 mg in a.m. for first 3 days the same morning and night for 4 days, then 1 full mg. morning and night. I started taking it too 4 days ago by cutting the full dosage pills in 1/2. After only 3 days I have no desire to smoke and you are supposed to smoke the first week, I think to make yourself disgusted! Anyhow, last night was the night I needed to take the other 1/2 and it gave me horrible insomnia. I already struggle with sleeping and take a xanax every night but even with the xanax I was up and when I finally fell asleep I woke up with a HORRIBLE headache that is just now wearing off. My ...

Hello. My Dr prescribed me Chantix and the pharmacy gave me the Continued pack instead of the starter pack and I didn't realize it until right after I took the first pill. I'm worried because it's 1mg instead of the 0.5mg. Should I be worried? ## You should check with them, as it might be too high of a dose for you to start at. How are you feeling? Have you experienced any adverse effects? The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, weight changes, and mood changes.
