Stolen Klonopin

I have been taking 1mg Klonopin for 2yrs now. I had someone steal my medication, so for 6 days I am without meds. I am 62 yrs old. Should I worry about detox?

It would be best to inform your doctor, since a sudden withdrawal can create the risk of seizures, according to FDA warnings. You may also experience rebound anxiety, nervousness, dizziness, and headache.

No, because it was someone in my home, the doctor would believe it's another drug story as I am also prescribed 2mg. of subutex from him.

I just had my prescription of my klonopin stolen out of my purse along with money I needed as well and this occurred apr 11 2018...I am literally at my wits end now because I have filed a police report on what I had taken from my purse!! The amount of klonopin I take I 1mg TID (three times a day) which is a total of 3mg a day and I also have been taking klonopin since I was at least 15 years of age and I’m 38 now so that is 23 years of me taking klonopin and in the state of Alabama I didn’t have much trouble getting my medication and I was getting it every 3 months!! I move down to Panama City Florida and all hell broke loose first place I was being treated at said they were going to get rid of all controlled substances period..if you have ADD or ADHD you wouldn’t be able to get any Ritalin or adderall if you were taken those meds and that was the only thing or the main thing that you took to help you with that...and they also said they were getting rid of all benzos as well so someone like me and anyone else with severe anxiety that had also tried many other treatments and the only thing that has every worked for my anxiety my heart disease and spasms has always came back to and this is the only thing that works for me for these things and anyways that had me scurrying to find another place for mental health so I could get the medication that just keeps me sane, my heart under control, my anxiety under control ...but so I make an appointment to get in with this place ASAP and before I could get into this place to get treatment I had from life management doctor that last seen me lower my 6mg of klonopin at the time to 2 mg before I left them they tapered me down to this which I can function on 4mg of klonopin and be completely alright but when I was dropped to just 2mg after a week or a week and a half I had the worst experience just about in my whole life and I ended up with such horrible withdrawal just from being lowered and not completely stopped...I ended up in the worst mental hell that I can possibly think of that I ended up not eating for days,,I was having constant diarrhea ,,I couldn’t hardly keep my body still let alone I was not able to even close my eyes and sleep at all for four days!!! I was hallucinating badly and I was living a real life horror story hell o wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy!!! So I ended up so bad off just from this incident that I bakers acted myself to get any help!!! Now I am in an even tougher position where my meds were stolen and I filed a police report and was going to take it up to the doctors office who has been seeing me for my anxiety and the only thing that was told to me that I could do was go to the hospital because they still couldn’t give me a controlled substance back to back no matter if I had a police report it didn’t matter is what I was told that they just couldn’t do it!!! They didn’t try to refer me to another doctor or give me time to find another doctor either because on top of my meds being stolen they just informed me and told me after having an appointment to see him that he was now dropped from my insurance but here’s the thing with that if I need my medicine and I been seeing that one doctor for that medicine how am I gonna get my medicine and be able to find another doctor for my next visit if they literally gave me no time to find a new doctor to get set up to see? So how am I gonna get my medicine and keep myself from losing my job, suffering and even getting really bad off with me being without my meds I am starting to shake badly and getting bad spasms no sleep for three days no appetite no way to be able to get food down my throat and I’m headed closer and closer to a dangerous point where I’m gonna start hallucinating having rebound anxiety already and my heart is acting up!!! I need help and I don’t understand why the doctor office and or insurance company has basically help put me in this bad of a condition!!! People shouldn’t be treated this way!!! Why do I have insurance to pay for me to get help and see someone really only for this one main thing and get the medication that I have been taking for 23 years now as it truly is the only medicine that helps me!! I am at my wits end and both my doctor and my insurance has put me in this predicament and this should’ve never happened and it should never happen to anyone else for that matter!!!

Getting your klonopin stolen is not a good thing for a few reasons. First off this drug is really on the chopping block these days. It was once a respected seizure med as well as part of a cocktail in the treatment of bipolar disorder and of value in some off-label uses. It has since turned into a demonized street drug. Having your prescription stolen proves this. Washing a prescription in the laundry is a common reason to call in for a replacement. It is worth calling your doctor and explaining your predicament. I've heard of people obtaining a replacement prescription. Be prepared to pay cash since insurance companies can rightly refuse payment. As long as this is your first time you should have no worries.
