Please Help Me Find A Doctor Who Cares!

I live in Beaverton, Oregon, close to Portland, and I am in needof finding a doctor who actually cares and LOOKS at my charts and films. I have degenerative back disease, torn discs in my L4 & L5, arthritis & bursitis in my lower back & right hip that is so paiinful I can't even apply slight pressure without nearly screaming in pain. On top of this, I have just had arthroscopic hip surgery on my R hip, including the removal of the trochantric bursea and a severe 10 year case of piriformis syndrome, at this point the scar tissue in the muscle is calcified and stretches are not only extremely painful to do, but do not help, especially since my hip surgery. The piriformis pain pressing on my sciatic nerve causes excruitating burning and debilitating sharp pain down my right leg from my buttocks to my big toe. The doctor I am seeing is a Korean internal medicine doctor...he NEVER looks at my charts, images, records from other doctors, only takes my blood pressure, listens to my lungs, prescribes me soma and a minimal amount of endocet for the pain and constant spasms I have and kicks me out after an occasional urine tests. Recently he reduced my daily dose of oxycodone from 120mg/day & 50mcg/hr fentanyl patches to only 4 of the 10/325 percocet/endocet...the tylenol always upsets my stomach and I went through holy hell withdrawls and he didn't even care. Please please please help me find a doctor who will go through my charts and actually help me live a normal life and not judge me based on my age. I am 30 and have done hard manual labor all my life. Anytime I talk to a doctor, ortho or other, they treat me like I am an addict. I don't get high on pain medicine, I get to live as close to a normal life as I possibly can with my conditions. I am hoping there is someone out there who cares and doesn't just take my insurance money and kick me out the door!! :( If I don't get the legitimate pain care I need, I will lose my job and health insurance. Please, anyone, help me...I am tired of being treated like a junkie off the street when I have a pile of records showing my health issues :( I am in tears writing this...I feel there is no hope left :(

Really, that would be your best option to get the help you need from someone who's going to pay attention to all of the details and will know what medications and therapies will best help you.

I was in the same boat. I was involved in a bad car accident. I have had a total of 4 back surgeries, right hip replacement, my jaw was wired shut for 7 months (now have horrible TMJ). I was prescribed 200 mg fentanyl and 6 oxy 40mg tablets for break thru pain a day along with soma. My doctor retired and referred me to a different one who took one look at me and assumed I was a junkie looking for a fix, mind you, I was 21 going to college on a full ride for mental health substance abuse and it took me 6 months to find a doctor that actually cared and worked with me and not against me. I wish u the best of luck. They’re out there, just keep looking. I live in Maine and know a few good doctors up this way.
