I live in Bradenton FL and I have been going to the local methadone clinic here for almost 2yrs now and I'm OVER IT!!! Yesterday I was forced to miss my best friends funeral in GO solely because this clinic would not give me travel doses only guest dosing 80 mile round trip from where I wld be at. I am on medicaid and it doesn't cover out of state so we were going to have to pay $110 for both my husband and I for only 2 days!!!! On top of that they wouldn't even accept credit card so I was unable to go. I need to find a doctor locally who would be willing to write me a script of methadone monthly and aide me in tapering off my dose. Can a Methadone patient detox with Suboxone and what mg dose do they need to do if they are currently on 30 mg Methadone a day? And what's the procedure? Like, do they have to taper the Methadone down first, and by doing, so do they go through any withdrawal symptoms? ## Each individual is likely going to have a very different withdrawal experience due to several factors, such as tolerance to pain, reaction/tolerance to these types of medications, one's body chemistry, mental fortitude, and so forth... I have been on methadone for 10 years for fibro. I take 60-100 mgs a day. I have recently begun taking garcinia cambogia, green coffee bean and raspberry ketones for weight loss. Though they have been working, (I've lost 20 lbs) I've noticed about 1-2 hrs after taking them I start to withdraw. It doesn't matter if it's been 2 hrs or 10 hrs since my last methadone dose, my body acts like it's been 14+hrs as the anxiety clamps on like a vice and the nose turns into a faucet. I am under contract with my PCP for oxycodone and ms contin (morphine). A recent urine screen showed positive for Methadone! I have never taken this however, I do take wellbutrin and vistiril prescribed by said PCP. She called me into her office, told me about the test and dismissed me as a patient. She gave me 1 month worth of scripts and sent me walking. Needless to say, I've been extremely upset knowing this is in my system and my doctor doesn't care. Is anyone living in Alabama getting pill cuts of methadone? My doctor told me it was because of Governor Bentley signing in new opiate restriction for all pain doctors. (Not Clinics). I really need to try to find a new pain doctor that is closer to me. I love the doctors there they have been wonderful to me. I have been going for 5 years and now for the last 8 months I have driving myself and I really have not built up enough strength after having neck surgery. The problems I have now wont go away and I just cannot function normally I have problems with walking very far, I cant stand up more than a few minutes, and on a really good day I can curl my hair. Methadone is the worst drug. There are alternative ways to detox from opiates. I experienced cold turkey withdrawals after being on methadone for 12 years (90 mg. daily). Living hell. Severe withdrawals lasted two weeks, but less severe withdrawals lasted two months. Further withdrawals lasted for months. I couldn't think, walk, write... I was so miserable. It is a side effect of methadone on the constipation & retaining water (edema). Try taking a stool softener like colace two every night. If that don't help take a mild laxative also.
