All I.ve heard for years that I'm pre cancer for my uterus most GYN want me to take a progesterone for the rest of my life for the thick lining. Now for 3 weeks I've been back on it and for the last week I've started back spot bleeding which I'm not happy about so if I stop will I continue to spot bleed.. ## Hello, Joelin! How are you? After menopause, while your body usually stops producing progesterone, you still produce estrogen, plus it is made by any fat cells you have and a lot of foods and environmental factors are contaminated with it and it is estrogen that builds up the endometrial lining, so yes, you can still build up a pretty thick one. The Medroxyprogesterone is causing spotting, because it's breaking up that lining to clean out your uterus. Usually, mo...

What does this drug to continous bleeding? ## Medroxyprogesterone is a hormone, most common in females and it helps regulate their menstrual cycle and egg fertilization. Do you have any other questions? ## In taking Medroxypr AC 10 MG I find myself angry all the time and losing handfulls of hair as well as unable to lose weight even though I'm working out and eating the recommended diet for weight loss. I am a 26 yr old female and after almost a year of not having a normal period (my period is 1-2 days of light old blood) I went to my ob. She put me on medroxyprogesterone to kickstart my period and then once I had my period to take clomid. (She doesn't believe I'm ovulating and me and my husband are trying to get pregnant. )The directions on the medicine said to take for 10 days and then I'd start my period 3-7 days after my last dose. After 15 days of no period I called my doctor and she prescribed another round of medroxyprogesterone. I'm worried. Is it normal to have to take 2 rounds of medroxyprogesterone to kick start your period? ## Hi, Kasey! Sorry about the problems that you're having. Have you used any of kits that can let you know if you're ovulating o...

How are you doing? Hormonal changes are very common once a woman enters her 40's and most of us do experience some oddities, due to the fact that we may no longer ovulate each month. However, if all of your evaluations were normal...

I was prescribed Medroxyprogesterone from my Gyno. I am on day 3 off the pills but still didn't have my period. What should I do? Should I wait for it? ## Hello, Sara! How are you? It usually takes about 3 to 4 days. Has there been any change? If you have still not start, you may need to take a longer course of them, or a higher dosage. The U.S. FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and irritability.

I was prescribed 10 mg of Medroxyprogesterone to be taken daily beginning on day 16 of my cycle to stop me from coming on my period while on vacation. I just want to make sure this is going to work because the doctor I saw was new and didn't seem to sure about it.

I am 69 and started bleeding in Oct. Had Ultra sound and was told I have a thick uterine wall. Went to gynecologist and had pap and biopsy. Had a polyp that was removed as out-patient. She said it was largest she ever saw and filled cavity. Pap came back normal and biopsy benign, but pre-cancer. I was put on Medroxyprogsterone and will have another biopsy in March. I have been on the Medroxyprogesterone for a week and last night I had some light bleeding when I went to the bathroom. Is this normal? It doesn't happen every day. Will it ever stop? Thanks. ## Hello, Shirley! How are you? Yes, that can happen if your uterine wall has a thick lining. It's usually caused by excess estrogen and this medication is used to help thin it, by causing it to expel, which can result in bleedin...

Hi everyone I am really feeling annoyed. I am 32 years old and am trying to have another child. I am on medroxyprogesterone 10mg. I have been prescibed to take it because of my periods, and have been taking it since Jan 26th. It's March 8 and still no period. Is it a possible I could be pregnant? I even took a pregnancy test. Is it still possible I may be pregnant? ## Hello, Monae! How are you? What were the results of the pregnancy check? Generally, if taken all month, this medication will prevent ovulation and may cause you not to have periods. Ideally, to help regulate a woman's periods, it's usually taken from mid-cycle for about 2 weeks, then stopped. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, spotting and irritability. Have you info...

i am taking now progesterone pill 100 mg can i get pregnant ## Hello, Maryana! How are you? When do you take it? If you're taking it the last half of the month, then yes. However, if you're taking it all the time, then it will prevent ovulation, so no. The FDA lists its typical side effects as including spotting, nausea, headache, irritability and PMS-like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with?

My doctor prescribed Medroxyprogesterone because I have irregular periods and I started taking it Nov 28th for 10 days. I started my period Dec 10th and it stopped Dec 17th. My fiancé and I are hoping to have a baby. Today Dec 26th I started spotting. I have not taken the pill yet and I feel weak and have a lot of cramps. Can I be pregnant or should I be concerned about this issue? ## Hello, Mari! How are you? I'm sorry about the problems that you're having. This is a hormone replacement medication, so those types of side effects can occur, as reported by the FDA. You may also experience nausea, headache, irritability and weight changes. However, the only way to know whether or not you are pregnant is to have it checked out. Is there anything else I can help with?

i am 31 yrs having pcos. i underwent ivf & had baby a year back. now for past 45 days i have heavy bleeding and also put on weight. doctor 1st advised me Meprate, since no improvement, again advised Meprate with Fefol Z. i was not advied for any ultra sound scan or any other test. kindly advise me i am n right path? ## Some blood work should be done to check what exactly is causing it, as well as an ultrasound. It could be due to a hormonal imbalance, but that's not really likely if the Meprate hasn't helped, since it contains Medroxyprogesterone. Have you visited an Ob Gyn or just a regular doctor for it? A general practitioner may not know all the possibilities involved. ## How long will the menstrual meprate 10mg taking the pill?

Hello I started taking Provera to time the start of an IVF cycle but my estrogen has gone really high. Like about 5000. It has happened 2 times now in a row. The estrogen has still come down to baseline after m period. Could Provera do this? I've read it lowers natural progesterone and was thinking perhaps this could create an unopposed estrogen dominant situation? My concern is it could otherwise be something bad like ovarian cancer. Would you estrogen come back down to baseline under 70 if it was this causing it? Looking for some answers. Thanks

I've have not had a period for over 10 yes. I'm really feel shame. How do I build myself back up? ## Hello, Dorry! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. However, there is no reason to feel shame, it's not something you can control. Sometimes a woman's hormones become imbalanced and they may not experience their periods, there is nothing you did that caused it and nothing you could have done to prevent it. The NIH lists various other reasons it may happen, such as menopause, perimenopause, unusual weight loss, extreme exercise, some health conditions and some medications. Are you on any medications? Do you have any diagnosed health conditions? Have you consulted your doctor to see what's causing the problem? How old are you?

I have been prescribed Medroxyprogesterone 10mg for 10 days. How long are you supposed to wait after taking the Medroxyprogesterone, to have unprotected sex? I've had irregular periods all my life, but my partner and i decided that i needed something to have my period, and finally after going to my OBGYN, she prescribed me this. I do indeed want to have a child, but i'm seeing if my period will come normally first. Is it better off for me to have protected sex? Or if i'm trying should i try unprotected sex after or during the time i am taking the pill?

This summer has been a rough summer for my body. In May I had a superlight period, then June, July and August basically had my period for 3 weeks straight then off my period then 3 weeks again. They are super heavy and filled with a lot clots. In August I went to the doctor, had a ultrasound done, biopsy and everything came back normal, though she did say I had debris up there. She put me on medroxy, where i would start it on the 10th-end it on the 24th. I had my period when I started, it seemed to stop for about 5 days and now its been back for almost a week and its super heavy and clotty. She gave me a 3 month supply of this, does it take awhile for it to work. I am feeling little weak and tired and am sick of supporting Tampax on my own. Help! ## Hello, Nora! How are you? Hi my doctor prescribe me to take medroxyprogesterone for not having my menstrual for almost 3 months 10mg for 10 days i took my last pill December 5 how long would it take for me to come on? In do the pill really work. Thanks ## Hello, Keisha! How are you? Your period should start within 24 to 48 hours of finishing them. Did you start, yet? This is a hormonal medication that may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and breakthrough bleeding. And yes, they do work for many women, but I can't say whether or not they will work for you. It depends on what's causing you to skip your periods. Are they normally irregular? ## I took provera 10mg for 10 days to start my period. I haven't had 1 in over a year. I had intercourse 3 times while taking th...
