Lots of different reactions to this here, in my own experience is that it's caused headaches, general sadness and even hyponetramia but once armed with the knowledge of how my body reacts to it I manage to negotiate these things by taking 100mg magnesium at night and then I take 290mcg of Linzess around 7 am next morning with around 250ml of water then drink a couple of cups of sweet (using honey) milky decaffeinated tea which Seems to activate it (I'm not a breakfast person) and put 1 teaspoon of salt in hot water and take sips alongside my tea to replce the sodium I know I'm losing and it usually starts working around 1 hour ir so later lasts around an hour and a half or so then I can get on with my day though I do have to drink more fluids and salt water for an hour or so after. I also eat green veggies every day opting for frozen as its hard to stay sticked up on fresh veg daily due to logistics. Despite this rigmarole I'm usually ready to face the day by lunchtime and then eat and have some normality which I've never had with other meds. It's a strong med I won't deny it but it does work though from the replies in this thread I can see its not for everyone.
One tip for everyone here is for bloating and soreness I take a teaspoon of manuka honey after the effects have worn off and despite the cost its far better and kinder on the gut than any medication I've ever had. I hope this info is useful to at least 1 person, it's a pretty harsh med but can give some normality back once gauged for subjective experience and effects but it does take its toll if you're not cautious while taking it, just drinking lots of fluids isn't enough and dangerous as it will make your sodium, magnesium and potassium drop drastically in a short space of time.

I agree with you. It's poisoning my body. Severe dehydration and nauseated for days, heart burn, etc. Quit taking it 2 days ago. I was prescribed 12/06/2023. I called CVS and reported Linzess. It has damage people's intestines. Bad reviews. I will call MedWatch and report Linzess.

I just started Linzess. I learned that depression could be a side effect or diarrhea. I am taking 290mgs, I am clinically depressed. So, search Linzess, you may want to change meds. I've had IBS pain all my life, I took muscle relaxers when the pain was unbearable, not everyday. Your heart is a muscle too, so I did not take it often. As I grew older they didn't work, so now I started Linzess. I think 290mgs is pretty strong. I will probably take it in the AM on an empty stomach and eat within a half hour.

Yes, I’ve been taking it for a month and I’ve had weird sadness. This drug has made me very ill, and I have had COVID, swine flu and the bird flu and this drug feels worse!

I have been taking 290 mg a day for a month with no bad side effects, but it just isn't working for me. Does help with bowel movement and still have to strain to go.

Linzess really worked for me after trying everything for over 20 years. Take exactly as directed and yes- lots of water. My only question is- as soon as I started taking it I've been having feelings of sadness/depression. I don't know for sure if it's linked to Linzess. I'm going to stop taking it for about a month and see if there is a correlation. It doesn't seem like there should be for that type of medication. I'm bummed because it has been a life-changing medication for my constipation issue otherwise.

The side effects do not occur in 100% of women. I have never had those side effects. It sometimes doesn’t work but I never had cold symptoms or dizziness.

I like Dulcolax much better. I take 2 at 3:30 AM, and I go at 9 AM. It is more predictable, and not as harsh as Linzess. I thought I was going to die when on the Linzess. It made me dizzy, and had explosive diarrhea and bad cramps. Never again.

Wow yall. I've been on Linzess for a yr and a half and couldn't live without it. Most of your issues sound like dehydration. The medication is meant to be taken with water and it's recommended that you drink 7 to 8 glasses a day. Diarrhea causes dehydration so any medication you take to initiate a bowel movement can cause headaches etc without proper hydration. You really have to follow the instructions with Linzess for it to work properly. All I know is for me I was in terrible pain before Linzess. It's helped me so much. I take it at bedtime with water and continue to drink water until it works about an hr later then I get a great night's sleep. I'm sorry it hasn't worked for some of you but make sure you're drinking water. If not you'll experience all the symptoms yall have mentioned.

I took my 1st pill and within an hour i started feeling uneasy. By time the next 15 minutes was in the bathroom with severe diarrhea. Was not fun at all. I was prescribed Linzess because of IBS and Constipation all the time. Well it caused me to get a horrible headache with face numbness and heavy arm. Went to hospital and was given meds to try to stop the headache/migraine it triggered (was one of the worst, head felt like it could explode). Also some swelling in throat. The next days still had headache but not as bad. Also lots of lightheaded and dizziness with weakness in arms. I asked dr how long before med will be out. He tried telling me it should already be out of my system since it was a gut med. That didn't sound right. But i did add Linzess to my continuously growing med allergy list.
