Teva Lorazepam Reviews (Page 11) (Top voted first)

Updated

I'm seeking insights and reviews on Teva Lorazepam and its comparison with Leading Pharma's version. There's a notable divide in user experiences. Some report Leading Pharma Lorazepam as being less effective or having no effect, possibly due to variations in the active ingredient, leading to side effects or adverse reactions in certain cases.

While there are those who recommend Teva Lorazepam for its efficacy, others find Leading Pharma's version more suitable. Unfortunately, I haven't had the opportunity to try Teva Lorazepam since it's not available in my area – no local pharmacies dispense it.

My experience with other brands, post the discontinuation of Qualitest, hasn't been successful in finding a comparable alternative. I'm particularly interested in understanding how Teva Lorazepam and Leading Pharma's lorazepam differ in terms of effectiveness and user satisfaction.

If you've had experiences with either or both of these medications, your reviews would be incredibly valuable. Any insights into their efficacy, side effects, or overall satisfaction would greatly help me and others in our decisions.

Would love to know the answer to this and if leading pharma has actually changed. I had to switch to it after they quit making Qualitest. I went into withdrawal on it. If it were a good product, I'd have no problem but you're right... it was absolute garbage!

Re: Jibbs55 (# 585) Expand Referenced Message

Jibbs...it's simple.....unless you are buying brand name Ativan, there is little money to be made or kickback from prescribing old cheap meds (oh no, docs wouldn't do that, lol...just take a look at the statin industry).......docs as we knew them as kids just don't exist any more. They used to handle everything from a common cold to getting you into a hospital if needed..... and they weren't limited to a 10 minute exam by corporate/groups....they took as long as they needed to examine you and talk with you. The "Groups" have utterly destroyed Medical Practices as they must show PROFIT. The Groups don't give a rats ass about the patient just as long as they keep coming in so they can be referred to 'specialists' who do exactly what 'ol 'doc Brown' did for his patients but with fancier equipment to give the same result.....instead of having the flu...now through specialists we get to know which strain of the flu virus we have.......all this relates to benzos..... they had a few long term that worked (valium for instance) but only over the long term....and a few later on that really did quell anxiety that were short term like ativan.....but like it or not- they are addictive.....but then again.....diabetics are 'addicted' to Metformin, heart patients to their beta blockers, etc...but maybe it's just necessary to take an addictive medication to get through life.

Re: Jibbs55 (# 588) Expand Referenced Message

If you're being taken off, depending on the milligrams you're on, make small cuts. Nothing shorter than a 10-month taper, and I doubt you will even be able to handle that, at only 10 percent per month. Read the Ashton Manual. Get a scale that weighs out in 0.000 grams so you can shave the pills and do very small cuts; this way, you will not be going through hell. If a doctor is forcing you off, I would suggest finding a 'benzo smart' doctor who will taper you slowly. The list of these 'benzo smart' doctors can be found on the Benzodiazepine Information Coalition website.

Re: Jibbs55 (# 585) Expand Referenced Message

I am here because I picked up a refill. .5 at night; .25 during the morning and afternoon.
After a week, I was REALLY dragging.

We just finished a month-long, stressful move. I assumed this was to blame.

Morning dose: I’m looking for a 3rd coffee refill. After-lunch dose: I’m struggling to collect my thoughts in conversation.

Checked my bottle: They changed me from Aurobindo to Teva. It feels like I’m taking twice the dose.

Re: Doobs (# 592) Expand Referenced Message

I've experienced that same situation plenty of times. Where I get mine they switch back and forth from Teva to Leading. They are totally aware of my circumstances. All I could do and still do is just roll with it. The worst of the two evils is being off it completely. Aurobindo and Mylan worked great. Think some of the folks on the Aurobindo chat say they feel it's changed formula as well. I couldn't say because it's probably been 3 years since I had it last. You most likely won't have much luck getting your last fill changed till the next one. There's some good folks out there still that see what we're all talking about. Met two teams of them this past week. Hang in there!

I'm sure what I'm about to say many of you are aware of what things trigger panic attacks. The biggest thing is caffeinated beverages. Chocolate really huge. Two of the biggest panic attacks triggers for many. Scented soaps as in hand soap, dish soap, laundry detergent and fabric softeners. Anything high in fragrance. Shampoos, deodorant and colognes will trigger folks. Wood smoke from BBQ's. I have neighbors that have passed away that used all unscented laundry detergents and fabric softeners. It was a blessing not smelling that. New neighbors moved in, bam, instant panic attack. People smoking or vaping. Marijuana takes me out. No dissing anyone here, just telling y'all what can trigger more anxiety. I'm still going through a very rough valley right now. Few things have changed and are being addressed as I'm writing this. Keep the faith y'all. I wish ya the best.

Re: Paula (# 599) Expand Referenced Message

Your doctor is probably covering his ass in case you have a seizure from the abrupt lorazepam withdrawal.

Never hurts to have your doc submit a prior auth request to your insurance for the brand name Ativan.

Re: Paula (# 600) Expand Referenced Message

We've got Teva here in my state. I'm out west. Seems to be the only thing they've got. But I haven't asked around. Both Leading and Teva work about the same for me.

Where did you find an Aurobindo chat? I have been looking but can't find anything on the internet. I want to talk with someone who is taking it and having a bad time. The pharmacy tells me that they have had no complaints but I'm sorry, I just do not believe that.

I know Joe has had a lot of experience with Aurobindo. I believe it was he that said it changed formula. Few years ago it work awesome for me. Sure would help me now going through these withdrawals. Hope that helps.

Re: Jibbs55 (# 614) Expand Referenced Message

Afraid I won't be adjusting. Only have another week before refill and I am still sick every day. No appetite and constant shaking. I just wish that someone else on the same medication and manufacturer would tell me what their symptoms are or if they are feeling the same as me. My doctor is convinced it is a physical problem not he med, but I didn't have anything wrong before and each and every time I was so sick it was made by Aurobindo. This is the third time but the other times the pharmacy ordered another brand & this time there wasn't anything to give me. My doctor does not want to work with me on it. My bf thinks I am allergic to them. It is very hard to live with. I don't leave my house now. My life is certainly not the same. You hang in there, too. I belong to a group that seems to help a lot of people that are trying to taper. Maybe you could see what they offer. Lots of good people. When I find the name I will let you know.

Re: Richard H (# 623) Expand Referenced Message

I'm on the brand which was made for Bausch Health (formally Valeant, formally Biovail by acquisition) by a company Meda Pharma GmbH in Germany for a long time. It was owned by Mylan Pharmaceuticals and Mylan is now all merged up into Viatris. So Bausch Health approx a couple years ago started making it in-house in Canada and I take it. I can say it works perfectly (at least in the 2MG size) for me. Better than the biovail days under Meda. Sadly Bausch, like Biovail before them severely price gouges the market on brand Ativan so it's tough to get insurance approval.

Re: gsrmike2377 (# 620) Expand Referenced Message

The Teva brand gave me the same results. The shakiness, no appetite, and all around sick feeling. I did find out from 3 other people on a benzo thread that they could not take lorazepam and they all had the same symptoms with it from the first day they took it. All were sick and suffered weight loss, no appetite and the shakes. They had to go off of it which I should have a long time ago. I have an appt. Thursday and I am asking her to get me off the lorazepam asap and to avoid tapering of one to the other, I am asking her to put me back on clonazepam. I sure hope it is available now as it was in shortage. Wish me luck. I can't imagine what feeling normal and wanting to eat is going to feel like.

Re: Jibbs55 (# 641) Expand Referenced Message

Hey Jibbs, I can tell you my story. After eight months on 1.5mg ativan, I knew I was having problems. I went to my doctor and told him I wanted off of this stuff. He tapered me off over a 40-day period. However, it was rather rapid and proved to be extremely difficult. After getting down to 0.25mg once a day, I was in bad shape. I knew something was very very wrong. So, I stopped the taper and slowly went back up over a 4-month period. That was in 2013. After that dreadful experience, I knew there had to be more to this so I began educating myself. Over the last ten years, I read anything I could get my hands on. Now, I consider myself to have a self-taught PhD in benzo lol! I did try to switch over to Valium in 2015. I was extremely educated. And just like your docs, mine just wrote me a script for 15mg. I only managed to stick with it for two days. The withdrawal was terrible because my brain was accustomed to a fast-acting benzo, so I switched back. I then started taking half of my dose every four hours to combat the inter-dose withdrawals I was experiencing. This strategy has helped to maintain a more stable blood plasma concentration without allowing it to fall off a cliff. Right now, I'm on 1.625mg a day. I hit tolerance in 2017 and then upped the dose by 0.125mg because I know how detrimental this medication can be. Back in the 1950s, they knew the side effects. There is published data on it. Yet, big pharma doesn't care about you, only their profits. It took them 70 years to upgrade this medication to a black box warning, yet they were aware of the risks from the beginning—quite odd, right? Doctors are trained in medical school to prescribe pills but are not taught how to get to the root of the problem. I've even seen practitioners like Dr. Christine Huff, who was a cardiologist and got injured by Xanax, admitting that her training did not cover the severe impacts these drugs could have on the brain and the central nervous system. Dr. Heather Ashton was at the frontlines, helping people all around the world. However, she had to fund everything herself because no one would support her efforts. It's because they want you to continue taking the pills rather than stopping them. Copy and paste this link and watch this: youtube.com/watch?v=cS9eYKgUUTM&t=2763s

It will open your eyes.
