why does it smell like fish? ## I got my script refilled the other day and the new one smells like fish too! My first bottle (different manufact) did not smell like fish. Beginning to wonder if it is of good quaility ## It is an odor from one of the fillers they use in making the medication, nothing to worry about. Since each company that makes the generic version of med can use different fillers, then some might have the odor and some won't. ## Yes, it is too something to worry about! With all the horrible cheap fillers being used these days by money grubbing foreign countrues - killing our animals and probably us too. The brand I got from Walgreens is fine - even old pills dont take on a smell. But the cheap kind sold by Walmart and as I know of, Strogers hospital in chicago smell...

can Metformin ER be cut in half?
1 Reply RSS
I have been taking Metformin XR 500 MG for about 2 years after having an issue with nausea with “regular Metformin. In an effort to lower my reliance on meds I began cutting the 500 MG pill in half about 6 months ago and in the last 2 mos have had constant nausea and some diarrhea. Stopped Metformin about 6 weeks ago but still having same issue’s. Nausea level is about 3-5 on a scale of 1-10. It appears that I should not have split the pills in half. My stomach “growls” constantly and I plan to see a gastroenterologist. I am tired regularly and no longer exercising. ## The ER designates it as being a time released formulation, so no, it should not be cut, or broken, as that could cause you to get too much of the medication, at once. The nausea and diarrhea can be...

Will it have any side effect like kidney trouble or sudden dizziness? ## Glycomet GP2 contains the active ingredients Glimepiride and Metformin, both of which are oral antidiabetic medications that are used to help lower and control blood sugar. It can cause side effects, just as any other medication can, they may include: nausea, dizziness, flatulence and stomach pain. Learn more Metformin details here and Glimepiride details here. my mother has been prescribed Glycomet 500 mg. But after she has started the medicine, she is experiencing problem of Piles. Is this problem related to glycomet ## Glycomet contains the active ingredient Metformin, it is an oral antidiabetic agent, used to help lower or control blood sugar. It is not known to cause hemorrhoids. Has she consulted her doctor? It is difficult to say how any medication will affect any individual and thus, it may or may not be related. It could also be due to dietary changes, if she's had to adjust what she eats, due to being diabetic. If she's been constipated, at all, and straining to have bowels movements, that may be contributing to the problem. ## effects of glycomet on pregnancy ## i was given glycomet 500mg but soon problem started wth me that...

I have been on this drug for almost 4 weeks now. I have had diahrea really bad. It is always like water. Everything I eat goes straight through. I have been taking anti diarhea pills with no help. I have lost ten pounds. Is this normal and what can i do for it? ## I stopped taking metformin about 2 years ago because of diarhrea and also the fact that I wanted to completely control my diabetes with diet only. Diet did work somewhat but did not put my blood sugar numbers into the "normal zone". I began taking metformin again recently to further reduce my blood sugar and to lose weight. As long as I eat NO SUGAR, NO BREAD, NO RICE, NO POTATOES, NO PASTA AND NO RICE - I never have diarhea now. LOW CARB IS THE WAY TO GO IF YOU HAVE DIABETES. ## Yes, the diarrhea can be a normal side ...

White oval pill S G 117

I have white oval pills with the letters S G on one side and 117 on the other side of the pill. What are they? Neurontin 600mg? ## I located a white oval pill with S G on one side and 107 on the other. Is there any chance that you might've misread the imprint? The pill I found is reportedly identified as Metformin HCL 1000mg, used for type-2 diabetes. The S | G are separated by a score line on one side and the back has 1 | 07 also separated by a score line. For verification, the manufacturer is listed as ScieGen Pharmaceuticals and the pill itself carries a National Drug Code of 50228-0107. I hope this helps!
