Doctors In Louisiana That Prescribe Methadone For Chronic Pain (Page 18) (Top voted first)

I have been taking 120 mg of methadone for approximately 5 years. My husbands job transferred us from Florida to Louisiana where I found a pretty good pain doc. He is now running scared and wants to take me off of methadone. Methadone has given me a good quality of life; I am able to work and be a productive member of society. My doctor is unwilling or unable to assist me in finding a new doctor who will continue my meds. Oh yeah, I have been the route of blocks and injections and gotten little if any relief. I'm tired of being branded a drug seeker-I have years of medical records that back up my claims and verify the dosages that I've been on-what drug seekers have this kind of back up? I am looking for a Louisiana doctor, but am willing to travel (within reason of course). Please help!!

Sydney Crackhower WILL NOT WRITE METHADONE NOR ROXI\OXICODONE. 120 HYDROCONDONE & EITHER OR 30 XANAX OR VALIUM AND 'IF' IS A BIG WORD IF YOUR LUCKY, YOU MAY GET 90 SOMA. He's an a**hole if you go in there saying you've taken methadone or roxi's. Years ago his son ripped off his script pads and was writing like crazy and the doc almost went to the pen behind all the bs.

I saw you post about our dr taking patients. I'm sure it was an old post. But I just moved from tax to last and need a dr that will prescribe me methadone was on 60 msg daily for pain. I broke my back and neck 4 surgeries. Could I please get the name of our dr.

120 mgs of methodone is a whopping dose and 4-8 times the recognized new Standard of care of 100mg Morphine Equivalent max per day. Just an FYI.

Exactly!! How can they sit there and say they've been taking methadone for 20 years and they are not an addict?!! OMG, yes you are an addict, admit it. Most everyone on here begging for info for a doctor who will rx them their drug of choice, they're all addicts. Saying he will submit 20 yrs of drug tests, doesn't matter bro you are an addict if you've been on methadone for 20 years! People writing that they'll drive 2 hours or wherever to get their drugs, they're addicts!! I understand being in pain and you'll take anything to try and get rid of that pain, but I'm talking about severe pain not Fibro crap or whatever that is, the fact is most people have aches and pains and a lot of people are wimps and can't tolerate any little ache so they think they're dying so they came up for a name of this disease, Fibromyalgia. I've gone to work many days after caring for 2 babies in diapers all night as a single mom and have been so dead tired I didn't know how I'd make it through and hour let alone a day but I did. Being tired and having aches and pains is normal every day life. I don't understand how someone in their 20's or 30's has severe pain w/o having been involved in an accident or having cancer, it's not normal.

i am looking for a methadone doctor in ouisiana as well. i have bone tumors and took the meds for 6 years until i could no longer get my prescriptions filled because of an error made by his office. i am sick and hurting and need help. please help me find a doctor. i have an 11 year old i need to be heathy for.
