Camber Pharmaceuticals Generic Percocet (Page 18)

Updated

Just got Camber Pharm generic Percocet at Walgreens instead of the Actavis brand. It's giving me an upset stomach and causing me to feel weird. Has anyone else had a similar reaction?

Re: MeJane (# 340) Expand Referenced Message

I just spoke with my Kroger Pharmacist. He said they carried Mallinckrodt generic Oxycodone 5/325. Does anyone have any information on that generic. Is it as bad as Camber. My fill is due April 4th.

I take their 10-325 now and it is nothing like the Camber! Not saying it's the best, but it does not have any of the horrible side effects that the Camber did.

Re: Fed Up (# 341) Expand Referenced Message

There aren't many options for pharmacies in my town. And now that Rite Aid is part of Walgreens they also carry Camber. The only place locally for me that had something other than Camber was CVS. At first they had the Mallinckrodt which didn't give me the horrible side effects that the Camber pills did. But then they switched to Rhodes, while not my favorite my pain has been pretty well managed and they haven't completely destroyed my stomach. My dosage is also the 5/325. I've fluctuated throughout the past year as far as how much I take. I had to have surgery the first week of February. So my prescription changed. On both the Mallinckrodt and Rhodes I was taking up to 12 a day without any issues with side effects right after surgery. When I picked up my first bottle of the poison Camber has out there in the beginning of January, a month before my surgery, I was sick after my 2nd dose. While the Actavis worked the best, I haven't had any issues with either Mallinckrodt or Rhodes. I'm currently tapering down in hopes that my pain can be managed without the Percocet. Or at the very least I can get back down to what I was taking before things got bad. I will never take anything made by Camber ever again.

I take Percocet for chronic bladder pain. I’ve been taking 5/325 Oxys for 3 years with ZERO side effects. Today I picked up my refill from Walgreens and discovered these light blue/speckled pills inside. I took my normal 1/2 pill, and within 20 minutes became extremely nauseous and had a bad, bad headache. Since then I’ve taken 2 more, whole pills, and feel sicker than a DOG. I called my pharmacy and the pharmacist treated me like crap. Said I was the only one who’s complained. I told her how sick I was. She blew me off. This is BS!!!!

Re: Kathi (# 344) Expand Referenced Message

I think that's the pharmacy employee standard answer to the MANY of us who have complained. I do not believe them.... Even my pharmacist a man who I have a good relationship with, kind of pauses and says; well no, maybe some of the other pharmacist have. Ive ask the another woman pharmacist and she says; hmmm, I think one other. In the beginning I ask a tech and he told me yes there were other complaints. Im really a straight forward person and they know it; so i get a look as if they dont want to answer me each of the times ive brought it up. The dreaded question! They open the bottle of Actavis now and show it to me before they ring it up. By the way; they only have the actavis in 5/325. If I need anything stronger it would be Camber. I understand that they work for Walgreens and have no control over what corporate sends them. The job is their livelihood. Im sure they have great benefits and good medical insurance. They cant stand there and tell us that a drug there telling us to take is making people sick.

The manger of the pharma has hinted a couple times that the near by independent pharmacy has more freedom than they do; because they can order from another manufacturer. The one I have talked to, does not carry any Camber drugs. I do believe thats his way of looking out for me. I intended to do the switch eventually but my life has been so busy with doctors appts, insurance company and follow up on medical office staff that dont deserve their jobs, I havent had the time. Plus I like having the pharmacy within walking distance. I'm sorry the way you they made you feel. They could find a nicer way to not tell you the truth; without making you feel like your crazy. At least my pharmacist said he believed me but nothing he could do. Most doctors are real good at making you feel like your just complaining too. I went to an immunologist yesterday that treated me with such respect, it renewed my faith. Caring, thorough, down to earth and truly concerned about all my issues. Unfortunately I think that bed side manner is rare these days. Some have it and most dont. Not something they can learn. Just wanted to share that. I left feeling better mentally and physically.

Any chance that all you people taking these crappy Camber brand can change to either Zohydro10,15 or 20mgER,IR morphine 10-15mg or 7.5mg or 10/325 Vicodin it's just a question not ment to be taken the wrong way. I mean I would do anything in my power to stay far away from those camber Pharmacutal poison pills. Or just get the name brand Vicodin!!! please let me know what you think or give the reasons why you won't switch meds thanx

Rawdog (# 345) --

I personally cannot take Vicodin. It causes urinary retention. I had to take it after shoulder surgery and ended up with a catheter for 3 days while they switched my meds. So it is actually listed as an allergy in my medical information. I was given the option to switch to Dilaudid but it is stronger and I didn't need anything stronger. Camber makes generic Percocet. Among the many problems I had while taking them was the dye. Turns out i'm allergic to blue dye, brand name Percocets use blue dye as well. I made a lot of phone calls and between myself and my doctor we were able to find a pharmacy that carried something other than Camber.

Re: Jen (# 347) Expand Referenced Message

Thanks for your reply Jen, I diddent list Dilulid,Oxycontin,Fentynel or oxymorphone cause I know those are far much stronger than the Vicodin or Percocet 5's n 10's I was just trying to help those people out that maybe they thought they were stuck with no other options.I diddent think about being allergic to the dye in them so thank you for pointing that out I'm sure their are many more people in your shoes with that same problem. Glad you found a way to get your meds and avoid those horrible Camber pills. Like I said I don't get those n I'm glad I don't have to deal with that but DAM you would think people would do whatever it takes to get something different prescribed and put that stupid company out of Business!!!!!

PLEASE take a look at my page I started "Opioids getting Weaker" and share your story's of what's REALLY going on across the country with these bunk and poor excuses for pain meds. I know there's millions of people going thru this in one way or another. Let's call out the the bad companies and bad drugs that we should all stay away from to help one another be more informed on what's going on. You can remain anonymous but we need to all come together and call out these companies n put our heads together and see what we can do to make a difference. Thanx for your support and story's much appreciated

Re: Bella (# 345) Expand Referenced Message

Hi Bella, and thank you for your reply. I’ve long done business with Walgreens, and have never been treated like I was 2 days ago. The pharmacist completely discounted my complaints and said she “would NOT order a different brand of OxiContin to accommodate me.

Yesterday was HELL for me. I’d been up all night the night before vomiting and had a severe bear migrainal headache from the Camber pills. My roommate ended up having to drive 70 miles to my doctors office to turn in the POISONOUS pills I’d picked up the day earlier. He said my doctor treated him like a criminal. She had a pharmacist come to her office to verify what I turned in was the toxic pills and not something I manufactured myself overnight. Then, finally, he was given a new script for me to filll at CVS Pharmacy. My insurance wouldn’t cover the script cuz I just filled it 2 days before. We had to pay $100 dollars to get the new meds.

I understand how tricky opioids prescriptions are for both doctors and pharmacy’s, but like you said, they need to learn better ways of communicating with their customers so they don’t come off as condescending and rude. They treat everyone like a full blown drug addict.

The new pills I got are pill #512. I’ve never taken this brand either. They don’t make me sick like Cambers did, but seem to be not very strong.

I will NEVER, EVER take another drug product from Camber pharmaceuticals. They should be sued for poisoning people. I’ve read hundreds of complaints from people who’ve taken their toxic meds. It’s sad that here in the USA, we cannot trust Pharmacies to get us the medications we need. Cambers headquarters is based in INDIA! Scary!

Re: Rawdog (# 346) Expand Referenced Message

My system and pain issues do not respond well to Vicodin. It has little or no effect. I’ve never taken morphine, and seriously doubt my doctor would allow me to have it. She’s really paranoid about prescribing ANY narcotic pain meds because of all the overdoses and deaths from STUPID people. It’s a darn shame that those of us who DO NOT abuse our pain meds are paying the price for those who DO!

Re: Fed Up (# 341) Expand Referenced Message

Hi, I picked up Mallinckrodt generic 5/325 OxyContin from pharmacy yesterday to replace the TOXIC pills I was given from Camber. I’d have to say they seem weak, not nearly as effective as the ones I was on before Walgreens went rogue and brought in the poisonous Camber meds. I’m very disappointed in Walgreens for being so flippant about my violent reaction to the Camber Oxy’s. You’d think they’d want to do whatever possible to remedy the situation, get drugs from a company that don’t make me sick. But they didn’t care. They talked down to me, discounted my problem, minimized my complaint. I have 3 other prescriptions I’ve been getting from Walgreens for YEARS, and plan to yank all of those, too, and take to CVS who currently isn’t dispensing Camber products.

Why are we getting drugs from INDIA anyway? WTH? ??

Someone from Camber called me this morning after I sent a complaint to them about how sick I got after taking their generic version of Oxy 5/325. I couldn’t even hardly understand him because his accent was so strong. I had to spell everything to him. They’re going to kill somebody someday with their so-called medications. If they haven’t already. ??

Re: Kathi (# 353) Expand Referenced Message

I'm SO sorry to hear about your situation. Since your new to this site n to answer your question about how to find my page of OPIOIDS GETTING WEAKER just go to the top of the page and where it says keyword search type that in.

Now I can't believe you even got to speak to someone from Camber Pharmaceutical. May I ask how you went about it so me and everyone else can call and complain?! I did not know they were produced in India. That right there is a red flag!! And I also can't believe how Walgreens treated you after years of being a customer. I also have been filling there for 2 plus years and know all 3 pharmacists on a first name basis. They ALWAYS have my meds n never give me a problem. Now I've heard that when you drop off your script you can ask for the name brand Percocet or request an alternative brand. And when you go to pick up before they ring you up you can ask what brand they gave you and if it's not the one you want you again can ask to have a different brand ordered. Now I don't know how true that is cause I've never had to personally do it but it sounds like it should work. That's just some of my input and as far as your doc not wanting to write you morphine you mist not be going to pain management, you must be going to a general practitioner and need to get referred to PM. PLEASE write back n let me know what you think. Thanx.

Hi all,

I started this thread asking a simple question and have been shocked by all of the responses. I foolishly thought one or two. So sad to see so many of us in the same boat. Chronic pain, and we are at the mercy of drug stores, pharmacies, insurance companies and the govt. On twitter I started the #patientNOTaddict. I still use walgreens after a discussion with the regional pharmacy rep about how I felt I was being treated like a JUNKIE. It's a lot better limping into the store now. I have tried to contact class action law firms regarding a suit against Camber. So far NO firm wants to touch it. WE HAVE to stand firm and hound our do nothing politicians that chronic pain cannot be cured with one motrin.

Re: Rawdog (# 354) Expand Referenced Message

Hi Rawdog, thank you for your reply.

I just went to their website [camberpharma.com] and on the top you’ll see a box with a phone in it. Click that to contact them. It allowed me to send an email to them telling them about the violent reaction I had to their 5/325 Oxys. This morning they replied via email and gave me a phone number to call and a case number. I called the number and spoke to a guy with a very heavy India accent. I could barely understand his questions. I had to spell everything to him. He asked me a lot of questions about what Pharmacy I got them from. A lot of questions about my weight/age/height and general health. He asked me for my physicians name and my address. I’m supposed to get a call at some point from them regarding my complaint.

Their phone number is: 1-866-495-1995

Hope this helps. I also filed a complaint with Walgreens Corporate Headquarters and the FDA. I don’t want anyone else to be put through what I had to go through. The public needs to be warned about Camber pharmaceuticals.

I did call Walgreens about the reaction I had the very same day I got these toxic meds. They said they WOULD NOT order another brand and that they couldn’t do anything for me.

As I said earlier, I’ve since been able to get another prescription from my doctor and had it filled at CVS who currently is not dispensing from Camber.

Thanks for your help on finding the thread you started. I actually found it after I posted asking how to find it. I will post my thoughts on that soon. Been sick all day again from taking those poisonous pills 2 days ago. Still having nausea and headache. But doing better today than yesterday for sure.

Editor's Note: The original phone number that was posted could not be verified and was replaced with the number on Camber's contact page for product complaints.

Rawdog,

Someone changed the phone number I provided you for Camber to a different number! That is not the number I posted.

Why would the moderator change the phone number?

Editor's note: the phone number originally provided was not listed on Camber's website and could not be verified.

Re: Kathi (# 356) Expand Referenced Message

The number you gave for Camber Pharmaceutical is 1-866-495-1995 is that not right? Also I find it kind of weird that this guy from India was asking all those personal questions I'd be hesitant on giving such personal info out like that just seems odd!! And I can't believe Walgreens said they would not order another med for you even if you were willing to pay more for the name brand that also seems fishy especially when you've been going there for years I'd be furious. Good thing you called Walgreens corporate even tho I've heard stories that they won't do anything about it. They protect their own there. They have their pharmacist's back 100% so your complaint will probably go by the way-side. I only say that because I did the same thing about 5yrs back and the guy from the complaint dept. basically said that exact thing to me, although I hope I'm wrong for everyone's sake. And if you don't mind me asking how did you get your doc to write you something else and what did he change it to? I'm surprised CVS even filled it for you after seeing that you just filled a couple days ago for a narcotic at Walgreens you must of gotten REALLY lucky!! Please keep me posted on what's going on. Thanx for all your info and hang in there.

I would seriously suggest everyone go to this CATO Institute website and read through these articles about the fake opiate crisis that the government and you know big pharma is involved in the background with lots of new worthless abuse-deterrent opioids that are inferior medications for severe pain patients with new pill prices for decades to come! This is fraud as only the American government can pull off with big pharma's greedy hands all over it!

I agree. I’m taking twice as much for pain and still hurting. I’m hurting all over like I have the flu. Just called Walgreens and told them I want my old ones back. I’m about to die from pain. ??
