Camber Brand Methylphenidate 10mg (Top voted first)

Updated

My pharmacy recently switched brands for my Methylphenidate 10mg and I swear I could be swallowing placebo. This medication does not work. I’m looking to see if anyone else has had this problem?

Camber Brand Methylphenidate
I feel like I am taking Tylenol PM I cannot be the only one with this happening to them. I've been on my meds for 16 yrs Pharmacy gave me 30 day supply but in two bottles half was what I have been taking and the other one was Camber brand I've been reading about the CAMBERCOMMA that a joke but that is what I've read. Can I take my pills back to the pharmacy for my old version?

I’ve had the problem with other generic brands. Sandoz worked best for me. I was wondering if you found a brand that works better for you that you recommend. Thank you!

I take generic Ritalin for hypersomnia and when I picked up my rx, the manufacturer was switched to Camber. It sucks! It has little to no effect. I take it at lunch and I am yawning at work and ready to go to sleep when I get home at 3:30. I think I would need to take 10 pills to get it to work (which I won't do), they are that weak.

Under the Hatch-Waxman Act of 1984, generics are allowed to differ from the name brand by as much as plus, or minus 20% of the active ingredient, the FDA considers that to be an acceptable therapeutic window. In most cases, the difference are minuscule and no one notices, but some people are sensitive to medications and can run into other problems.

Another reason for a problem could be too broad of a difference, since in reality that is a 40% window for difference. For example, the one you were taking previous might have been high in the amount of the active ingredient, say it was actually 12mgs, then your pharmacy switch you to this one, and there is a chance it is low in the active ingredient, perhaps only containing 8mgs of it.

The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, insomnia, weight loss, and anorexia.

Additionally, we are all different so the product from one manufacturer that works well for someone else might not work for you, that is just the nature of being human.

Have you actually experienced any withdrawal effects?

I just called the pharmacy and they said I cannot bring back my pills. They will only be carrying Camber so I have about 3 more weeks of this feeling.

Yes the medication has no effect on me, but about three hours after i take it i feel strange and jittery then just tired. Otherwise it is like i am not taking anything, it is horrible and i will have to deal with this for three more weeks. Its also annoying because i have asked the store not to switch the generic and they did it anyway.
