Updated

Has anybody used Cytisine to give up smoking, is it an anti depressent, doesn't sound as 'natural' as it was made out to be. Side effects?

According to the manufacturer, if you decide to smoke while using them you will feel like you have smoked too much. I can't say that first-hand as I have not combined them.

Quitting smoking is 80/20. 80% mental and 20% physical, the mind controls the body. I quit when there were no pills, but now there's a pill for everything. How strong are you and what is the payoff/set your mind to quit without the pills. Yes I quit. I took a half a pack and rolled it in duct tape. I'd go to work and when I got home I'd see the box rolled in duct tape and kick it, kick it everywhere until I was tired and breathing hard. Lasted about 10 days, and then one day I came home and pitched it in the garbage. Even today if I had to do it again I still wouldn't take a pill, my luck I'd get stuck on the pill and not want to quit that. If you really want to quit, I mean really want to, then do it. The reward is great, and you'll realize that you're stronger than you thought. It's a mental war, as after a week-10 days the nicotine is gone from your system. Drink a gallon of water a day and load up on vitamin C. Then kick the box wrapped in duct tape, or whatever you choose.

This medication actually acts like Chantix, I don't think it has anything to do with being addicted to nicotine... It blocks the part of the brain that craves. So that's why it works for many types of addiction

I have taken welbutrin - chantix - nicorette both gum and patches and nothing worked until the TBX . For the first time I feel I can and will be successful. I have been smoking for 35+ years and this product has made it extremely easy. The side effects are minimal - at least for me - I am usually high energy and am shocked that I am sleeping 8 hours a night instead of 6. I can get over that. I took more than the recommended dosage at first - when I felt the need to be overwhelming. After one week I sleep all night and don't usually take one for 2-3 hours after I am up. I am shocked at how easy this strip has made it for me. It will take a little will power but nothing like going cold turkey or using one of the other methods.

I have tried Cytisine a few times. Quit for Good program. I love the strips. The first time I quit for 6 months but unfortunately I enjoy having the odd ciggy now and then and consequently fall off the wagon :( Sadly tho I have spent over 1000 dollars now buying these strips (had them about 6 times, whoops) but I like taking them and only having a cig every month or so. I will eventually succeed :)

It's $50.00 , the TBX website is auto renew. I found it on Amazon for a flat rate of $50 without the auto renew.

Haven't tried it, but I'm going to order some and give it a shot. I'll post results as treatment progresses. Best of luck to you.

Yes it works. Shocking considering I tried so much others ways. I still crave cigarettes 1 month later but use this instead.

It's not a anti-depressant its from a natural plant base. It has a weird after taste that tends to ruin taste for anything. I tried it but didn't stick to it. You have to be really dedicated to get it to work for you.

I have been doing 'quit4good' for 5 days as of today. I have had headaches and a yukky feeling in my tummy. I didn't have a reduction in smoking plus I was cranky. Today I stopped smoking and feel the same as I did 2 weeks ago when I went cold turkey. I'm anxious, teary and have the usual effects of stopping smoking. I wonder why it works for some and not for others. I was going to buy cigs but put a patch on instead. I am disappointed as I payed $300 for it. I have emailed and asked for a refund. I was so excited to stop. I am calm now with a patch on. I really want to do this.

Are you still quit? How well did the product work overall?

All the things on market to help stop smoking from those who assured us there was nothing wrong with it to begin with, now want us to trust them once again for a "cure-all" solution to stop an addiction they created, commercialized and made very successful profits,....why should we trust you now? I want full disclosure of ALL the ingredients not just the main or active one. If you're not hiding something then I don't see why the whole info isn't released.

No, it isn't an antidepressant.

It's actually a naturally occurring toxic alkaloid that binds to the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor.

Learn more Cytisine details here.

Side effects occur if you take too much and can interfere with breathing and cause death.

It's also not as effective as the other smoking cessation options that are available.

Is there anything else I can help with?
