I do not have any skin signs of psoriasis but I do have swollen joints. Does anyone else take this drug for this symptom alone without the psoriasis? ## I have same. Hands were very swollen and painful. It helped a lot with that. ## Yes, this medication is used to treat both skin psoriasis, and psoriatic arthritis, it can also be used for other immune disorders. The typical side effects of Otezla may include nausea, headache, loss of appetite, and weight loss. Have you started it, yet, Bonnie? If so, has it helped? Is there anyone else on this medication that can share their experiences?

what is a safe dose for a man who wieghs 180lbs? My husband bought some colodopine on the street and now hes sleeping and i cant wake him up. He will half open his eyes for a couple seconds then he goes right back to sleep. ## its not always weight either Tolerance has a bit to do with it. What mg did he take & how many? If you cant wake him up he may be really knocked out, Or he may have OD'd or he is ODing.. Is he grey? A friend was oding on methadone once & he was GREY, sleeping WAY to soundly. I had to call 911 ## Yes, it is really difficult to say, since weight isn't the only factor, it also depends on someone's tolerance and sensitivity to the medication. What was the outcome of this? For future reference, any time you are worried about the health status of a l...

Have a bottle of Percs for emergency. Tweaked my back and was going to take 2. Cannot read the expiration label (worn out) just wanted to know what signs of expired meds are. They are extremely powdery and look battered down. Is super chalky and powdery a good sign its too old to do anything or is that irrelevant? ## Dear Rick, usually a prescription is good 4 one year from the date u got it. But u said u couldn't read it. And, by the way u described the condition of them, I wouldn't take the chance. Medications can still be ok after 1 year, but, they lose their potency . Maybe call your Dr and get a new script? I hope this info. Helps u. ## Hi Rick, This might be a bit surprising, but Harvard Medical School did a study showing that many types of medications can actually retain ...

I crushed on of my morphine 30mg er tablets because it didnt seem to work my last dose and now ive read i should not do that my question is should i be worried or what signs do i look for or worry about ## Hello, Kitty! How are you feeling? That is correct, it is not safe to crush, chew, cut or break a time released medication, because it could cause you to get too much of the medication, at once, which may cause overdose. As listed by the FDA, the possible overdose symptoms may include severe dizziness, severe drowsiness, stomach pain, vomiting, low blood pressure, low heart rate and shallow breathing. Did you experience any adverse effects?

My Son, who has Cancer, has been taking Oxycodone, 30mg for a little over a year, he says when he is out of his meds, he feels washed out, no energy, he hurts in his legs and body, and so tired. His Dr. cut his Prescription from 120 a month to 60 a month. Does this sound like he's addicted? I think so. Thank you all. ## Actually, from what you've described, that would be considered dependence, not addiction. Dependence can happen with any medication that someone takes for a long period of time, whether it be a narcotic or a blood pressure medication. It just means that their body has gotten used to having that substance added, so it reacts if that substance is suddenly removed, because it basically forgets how to work without it and it takes awhile for it to readjust. Addiction,...

I've been on xanax for 7 years, but i never take them everyday, nor do i take the full amount I'm prescribed (1mg tid), but usually take a fourth to one half pill, and that lasts the whole day 95% of the time. But now i worry, am i addicted? ## Dear Renzy, Physical addiction has set in if you try to stop the medication and your body goes through physical withdrawal symptoms like tremors, nausea, vomiting, and sweating. Psychological dependence has set in if you come off the drug but think about it all the time, or think about getting it or just craving it often. You might also think that you are in control of how much and when you take the drug and so you don't think you are addicted to it, but that's often not the case. You can still be addicted to it but monitor how mu...

Is it okay to take amoxicillin with signs of a sinus infection? I've been reading other posts regarding treatment for bacterial vs. viral infections. Please confirm. ## That is the main issue, it depends on what has caused the infection, and only a doctor can decide if an antibiotic is appropriate. The FDA lists the typical antibiotic side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, diarrhea, and non-allergic skin rash. How often do you get sinus infections?

The following quotes are directly from NIH's PubMed study - giving a rundown of their review on Kratom [see link below for reference]. But here’s where things get confusing - STATEMENT A: “In Southeast Asia, kratom has been used for decades as an herbal medication to treat chronic pain, increase energy and stamina, treat chronic pain and diarrhea, and as a substitute for opium or for opium withdrawal.” STATEMENT B: “Extracts of kratom have been used to treat chronic pain, diarrhea and cough.” STATEMENT C: “Kratom has not been shown to have any beneficial medical uses.” Now is that a not contradiction or what?! Since when has chronic pain, GI or respiratory issues been deemed 'non-medical related'? Last I checked, pharmacies were still p

My wife (Diabetic) with history of bladder infections, went to doctor with ache/pains and strong difficulty swallowing, was diagnosed with ear and throat (swollen) infection. Prescription was AMOX -CLAV, 1-tablet every 12-hr. She has been on subject pill for 24-hr's w/o any discernible change, complaining of strong body ache/pains and difficulty swallowing. How long should I rely on pill, if no change, before returning to doctor... or going to hospital? ## Hi! Sorry she's so miserable! The general rule for antibiotics is that there should be no worsening after they've been taken for a full 24 hours and improvement should start within 72 hours (3 days), so if you see worsening or there's no improvement after that time frame, she'll need more medical attention. This is...

I've read all the previous comments, and do have most of the symtoms. or side effects, Does anyone changed medications from lexam (20mgs) to something else? if so what? Lexam seems to work for me but I don't like the side effects, what else can I take? ## Hello, Paula! How are you? The FDA lists Lexam as containing the active ingredient Escitalopram, it is an SSRI class antidepressant. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, mood swings, headache, weight changes and dry mouth. How log have you been taking it? Most side effects are transient and will go away, once your body gets used to the medication, though that may take about 4 to 6 weeks. canine vaccination ## Is leptoferm c-1 a 5-in-1 vaccine for dogs like shih tzu? ## Hello, Just wanted to add some information that I found on this drug for our canine family members. Leptoferm C-I is for the active immunisation of healthy dogs and puppies to reduce clinical signs caused by Leptospira canicola and Leptospira icterohaemorrhagiae. The onset of immunity occurs by approximately 2 weeks after the last dose. For best results the first round of the vaccination should be administered no sooner than a puppy is 7 weeks old and the second shot should be given at least 14 days apart and no sooner than the dog is 10 weeks old. For dogs older than 10 weeks, the shots simply need to be administered 14 days apart. The medication warns that it is intended for animals only and that it sho...

I was prescribed this med baclofen for a back injury i also have percocet for carpal tunnel. - 10mg - is it safe to take these together ## Hello, Blondie! How are you? They can both cause some depression of the central nervous system, so you need to know to watch for any possible danger signs, such as extreme tiredness, dizziness and somnolence. Side effects to the Baclofen may include nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, headache and dry mouth. They may also be worsened by taking it with the Percocet. Gud pm.My 10 yr old son is very thin, but before he have a good body, but because he is very active in sports,i notice that he almost loss his weight...so i dont know what kind of vits i will let him take..pls help..tnx... ## Have you consulted a doctor? Has he shown any signs of being deficient in any nutrients, such as lethargy, nausea or not being as active as usual? It can be normal, especially for children his age that are very active, to experience weight fluctuations. In many cases, they will gain weight, for awhile, and have a larger appetite, which is just the body's way of preparing for them to grow. Then, when the growth spurt hits, the weight will seem to disappear and you may discover that they've grown an inch or more. This is perfectly normal and there is no need to...

So my husband took some Baclofen thinking it was ibuprofen. He started getting really drowsy so I checked out the bottle to make sure it was ibuprofen and the bottle read Baclofen. He took two 20 mg doses, and it was expired from 2 yrs ago. What could happen since he took 2 and they're expired? ## In many cases, expired meds are just fine (depending on how long it's been expired and how well they've been stored). However, if he hasn't made any signs of improvement since the timing of your post, I would probably encourage you to contact a local pharmacy and/or poison control (available 24/7 at 1-800-222-1222); and in worst case scenarios, the emergency room. My thoughts are that a pharmacist or poison control center will at least know what signs and symptoms to be mindful...

can pristiq and zoloft be taken together? ## Since they both have effects on Serotonin levels in the brain, using them together does increase the risk of someone developing Serotonin Syndrome, which can be very dangerous. How far apart should i space taking xanax and baclofen ## Hello, Mimi! How are you? The problem with taking them both is due to the fact that they can both cause sedation, so that's intensified by combining them. Thus, there's really not any set time frame that you need to space them out, you just need to know to watch for any danger signs, such as feeling severely sedated, shallow breathing and extreme dizziness. You should also never take them both, unless your doctor has specifically told you that it's safe for you to do so. Learn more Xanax details here. Learn more Baclofen details here.
