I am on pain pills to manage the chronic pain I experience from Fibromyalgia, Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, Neuropathy, and back/disc problems. We moved, so I just changed pharmacies. I get a Rx every month for hydrocodone-apap 7.5-650 (used to get 10-650's but couldn't stand the nausea, so I asked them to bump it down a bit). I used to get the pink pills that had WATSON 502 (I think it was) on them, generic for Lorcet Plus. Now I filled the same Rx at the new pharmacy and they gave me some white scored oblong tablet that says M359. It also says generic for Lorcet Plus tablet. Can anyone please tell me if there is a difference other than the manufacturer of the pills? (like, if one is better than the other). The old ones (WATSON) seemed like they took forever to kick in and at t...

I have a round yellowish pill, about 9 mm in diameter, with the imprint RX 597. What could this be? ## This was Pravastatin 40 mg from the now defunct Ranbaxy Pharmaceuticals (NDC 63304-0597). Pravastatin is used to lower cholesterol. Source ## The identification that Jaki provided is correct. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Pravastatin as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and joint/muscle aches. Ref: Medline Plus Pravastatin Is there anything I can help with?

I am 55 years old female with Laiden V; Iam taking coumadine 28mg/day and I would liek to know if I can take L-arginine Plus and also Vitamin B12 ## Hi Mirela, According to the MayoClinic, patients using anticoagulants, or other blood thinners, should consult a licensed practitioner before using L-arginine or B12. This is not to say that it can't be done, but you'll still want to double-check with your doctor on this one, as there are no drug interaction checkers that determine the safety of using Rx meds along with dietary supplements. I do know that both supplements have the potential to interact (based on their blood thinning properties), so in that sense I think it was wise of you to wait and ask first before taking such risks. It's really just a matter of the extent of ...

My wife decided to change our health care plan to save me a few bucks and apparently they fast talked her or she didn’t catch it all.. but long story short, while speaking with Cigna / marketplace / healthcare.gov, they told my wife and I that our copay would simply jump to $40 from $20... OK, I can live with that, at least I thought, until I went to fill my meds today. Apparently we don't have a copay ... well let me rephrase that: it doesn’t kick in till we pay our $8000 deductible. I have never heard of a deductible having to be met to get meds (visits to docs, etc, ok). But I been paying 20 bucks for 2 years straight for my meds and today I was quoted for one 30 day supply a price that exceeded what 2.5 years of my previous medicine costed me.. $500 plus dollars! Sor...

Capsule dark and light green in color marked with 141 / KLX ## Hello, Misty! How are you? There isn't any specific one, it really depends on the type and severity of the infection. The capsule you've asked about contains 500mgs of Cephalexin, which can be used to treat various types of bacterial infections. Its typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Has your doctor prescribed this for you? ## No I haven't been seen by a Dr. Due to lack of insurance, however I am experiencing painful symptoms and swelling resembling an abscess inside my gum just above my teeth. Plus one of the teeth affected has a moderately progressive crater (cavity) resulting in my not being able to eat. This is lasting the duration of my sinusiti...

Hi, I need help please. I was leaving for vacation last Wednesday from Newark airport. We were frantically trying to catch our plane(which we ended up missing anyways) when I realized that either my carry on bag was lost or stolen in the shuffle. Between my husband and my two kids bags plus my own. Figures it'd be my bag with my oxy 15mg oxy 30mg morphine and muscle relaxers. The only positive is that I always carry some in my purse, but never more then 10 of each for obvious reasons. So, anyway I'm starting to get down to nothing, and have been taking next to nothing and my drs office is on vacation too?? Idk what to as I am supposed to be on vacation for another 10days with my family and really don't want to be sick. Any suggestions??? Even a home made remedy to make it ea...

Please help, I'm out of my 80mg. Oxycontins, I take 3 a day and I take Between 4-8 Norco's for break thru pain. With insurance change, they want $300 for RX plus a $250 deductible up front for name brand medication. This is Blue Sheild PPO by: "Covered California" and I pay them $536.22 a month for their coverage. I only need this month to be covered as my husband gets new coverage from his new job in 10 days. I cant afford that kind of money, please help me form a regimen to take the place of Oxycontin 80 mg. 3x's a day to an equal generic form. Thank you so much, in a lot of pain right now! Been out for 24 hours now. I thank you very much for your quick response. ## Hello, Mandie! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. Many medications...

white oblong tablet. 1 side says ethex the other says 216, if i take a meal and then the tablet, whitin a min i star vomiting everything i ate. ## I located the pill in description to be a Prenatal Multivitamin by the name of Prenatal RX 1. Prenatal multivitamins help provide the necessary vitamin and minerals plus additional elements to support a healthy pregnancy. That said, I'm not sure as to why it would invoke vomiting. I would suggest asking your local pharmacist if it is in fact a prescription. Most vitamins are not prescription-based to my knowledge, but maybe these pills in particular have something you could be allergic to. It's just a thought, but I think you should consider other vitamin options if this one has that effect every time; that way you can know for certai...

I am prescribed tramadol every 4-6 hours, 1 tablet or as needed. I do take what I am asked plus an extra if needed because of my back pain. I'm currently on my last 3 and am prescribed 60. Is this a 30 day supply and am I able to get refilled? I just need to know so I can know whether or not to ask for another refill or not if I should wait until the 9th of next month or not? ## Glittergirl, First of all your tramadol is a prn order, meaning to be taken ONLY WHEN NEEDED, NOT AROUND THE CLOCK DOSING. Your labeling instructions are ambiguous. A BID order of 60 should last 30 days. This rx like others can be habit forming so doctors prescribe them with a degree of caution. You should only take direction from your prescribing professional or a RPh if unavailable. This class of drugs has...

My mother takes losartan 25 mg, but her last Rx was filled with a white round pill, with a D on one side and 572 on the other side. She said it gives her a severe headache. Could this be an Rx filling error? ## The pill with a logo and the number 572 on the opposite side does contain 25mgs of Losartan, an ARB that is commonly used to help control high blood pressure. Has her blood pressure been checked, since she started taking these tablets? There can be differences in generic medications, the FDA does allow them to differ in the active ingredient by as much as plus or minus 20%, they consider this an acceptable therapeutic window. For most people, the difference has no effect, but some people are very sensitive to medications and can suffer problems with the slightest fluctuation of t...

My prescription for Brand Klonopin 0.5 mg tablets was just filled by my local CVS pharmacy. I had to pay for it out of pocket since my generic Rx had just been filled. ## Does the named brand klonopin work the same for you as it did before it was on backorder? ## @Sound4heaven, I would recommend looking into whether or not the manufacturer has made any changes to the list of inactive ingredients, since this aspect of a tablet also plays a role in the tablet's overall bioavailability. If there are no changes there, name brand Klonopin 0.5mg should theoretically work the same as before. But had this been a generic version of Clonazepam, then inconsistency could be a stronger possibility since it has been heavily speculated that the FDA allows manufacturers the leeway of having a plus ...

I had Traumatic Brain Injury 6yrs ago. Work related and I would much rather work my butt off than be disabled! My energy level is so low since TBI. I take 4 tablets daily of generic Adderal. Lately it's been hard to get the whole rx filled. I was able to get 5 days of real Adderal! Is it my imagination or did it really give me energy to get up and ready to go much faster than the generic Adderal? Within 30mins verses anywhere from 1hour to 4hours? I would really appreciate your comments on this. Thank you for your time. ## No, it is not necessarily your imagination. There can be differences between generic and name brand medications. There are allowed to differ in the amount of the active ingredient by as much as plus or minus 20%. The FDA considers this an acceptable therapeutic wi...

Until Dec 2016 I have been taking Arthrotec for years and never had a problem. Walmart will not take my plan D Envision RX Plus and so I switched to Walgreens which will. I am allergic to sulfa, sulfite, etc. and when I got Walgreens Arthrotec I got sick and had a blood clot. I ended up on Coumadin for probably the rest of my life and the doctor does not want me to take Arthrotec. Does Walgreens get their Arthrotec from Canada or some place that has a filler with sulfa? Arthrotec has worked for the pain of osteoarthritis and I do not want to have to go in the hospital again or give up the Arthrotec. They have told me to use Tylenol but it is useless. ## Hello Barb, I realize it's been one month since you asked this question and I don't have a direct answer for you. What I will s...

I have been prescribed Omeprazole 20mg once a day in ams, plus Clorid/Clidi5-2.5 mg 3x daily before meals for gastro bloating, discomfort after each meal. The combo seems to work since I began 3 days ago. Maybe some extra sleepiness. Questions: Rx info sheet mentions some problems with this combo. What is a round, pink tablet with A on one side and 26 on other side? ## The pill you have is Lisinopril (10 mg) + Hydrochlorothiazide (12.5 mg). Hope this helps! ## I have been taking 20 mg lisinopril, 1 daily for several years. Recently (one month) Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5mg has been added 1 daily. I had neck surgery two weeks ago and I may have accidentally doubled up on my medication. It is oxycodone/apap (percocet) 5-325 rx'd 1 to 2 every 4 to 6 hours, plus methocarbamol (robaxin) 750 rx'd 1 every eight hours. I may have taken 2 percocets and 1 robaxin at 7:30; then took the same dosage again accidentally at 7:45. For the life of me I can't remember if I had just thought about taking them at 7:30 when I went to take a shower and changed or if I actually did.. and then redosed myself after my shower..
