I am 39 years old. I have 4 herniated discs and 3 slipped discs my pain is sometimes too the point I can't move.I took 10 mg. norco witch worked then I moved to Cincinnati Ohio and the doctor I found wanted me to take Methadone and I don't like it, I just want too go back to the Norco. I recently moved to Abingdon, Va, and I have degenerative disc disease. Pain under control with 15 mg -30 mg oxycodone and cervical epidurals. Cannot find a prescribing doctor in this area. I'm very upset about jerk doctors who are afraid to prescribe narcotics like Percocet 10mg. Other meds do not work yet some will offer morphine patches. DUE TO ILLNESS AND HOSPITALIZATION my Dr has taken a leave of absence from practice cancelled all appointments and refused any refills. I am only on hydrocodone 10mg 5x daily. And if you need such medications for long-term treatment of chronic pain, you'll most likely have to see a pain management specialist due to the new restrictions that have been put in place. There have been many concerns raised about improper prescribing and over prescribing, so there are new regulations put in place regarding what general practitioners and surgeon can prescribe, how much and for how long they can prescribe it. What troubles me, however, is the huge number of people placing posts asking where they can find a doctor to prescribe large amounts of narcotics, supposedly for pain management. Most allege that their doctors "moved" or "stopped prescribing". I have sincere doubts about these posters. People posting these kinds of questions are rare in reality; doctors don't move without referring patients to other health care providers. I moved to Houston about a year ago, and had increasing, crippling pain. Had an MRI done, it shows deteriorating discs, and they are also fusing together.
