Is it safe to take them still. November 2014 ## Hello, Kelly! How are you? This medication doesn't become dangerous, after the expiration date, but it does begin to lose effectiveness, so it would be best to dispose of it and obtain a new supply. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation. Is there anything else I can help with?

The CVS wont fill in Encinitas anymore. CVS, Walgreens and Walmart have company restrictions. No more orders until this State of California decision is changed or further notice. Even Pharmaca will only sell the spotted Activis Watson-and Allen pharmacy in San Diego won't special order them. Any other thoughts? I'm 3 days without and no one will fill my new rx. ## Hello, Sara! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. On top of the shortage that had already been created due to the dosage changes that were made this year, which caused some companies to stop manufacturing this medication, we are also into the end of the year and there is almost always a shortage from October into early in the new year. This is due to mandatory manufacturing limits, once ...

I want to thank the DEA on behalf of millions of people who's had there doctor's prescribed prescriptions changed from a class III to a class II on Oct. 6th 2014. Hope the hell you don't find yourself in need of pain medicine in your coming years. I sure would like to know what your little secret is going to be to obtain pain relief when you need it. There seems to be no recourse for this change, I thought this was still America, God help us. ## @slick, I don't blame you one bit. It's beginning to look a lot like the survival of the fittest now when it comes to the scarcity of available working pain meds. Only the one's on top with a special badge on their chest seem to have say over what you are or aren't allowed to take based on their misconstrued policies,...

I have discussed this with my psychiatrist and psychologist who cannot believe they have left me in pain for so long. The pain has gotten so bad I have gone to their office 6 times with all my documentation, given 5 days of mess and told to call my dr, who says TO TAKE TYLENOL. IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I CAN DO? I can't take the level of pain increasing. ## Hello, Michelle! How are you? I'm so very sor...

My primary care doctor wrote them out for years and stopped over a year ago and had my pain management doctor writing them out and he gave me my last prescription for this month to due me till Oct. My family doctor she got in trouble by the medical board for giving all her patients a 1/2 of dose of the flu shot and charging all the insurance company's and she was fined 10 Thousand and community service and five year prob. and she was taken off prob. the end of 2014 so she stopped writing out all medication that is with nerve medication or pain medication so she won't have to deal with the drug panels. I have been taking Norco 10/325 for.a few years and it has controlled my severe pain. My physician is starting to prescribe me medication that just simply doesn't work. Please.....If anyone knows of a very liberal Doctor in Los angeles, Ca. (more the south bay area: Torrance, Redondo Beach, Gardena etc.) Please let me know!!! Would be very much appreciated ## Since Norco, along with other hydrocodone combination meds, will become a Schedule II Oct 6, 2014, finding a liberal dr will be impossible. Many drs who use to write for this have stopped due to the new tigher regulations that will be in place in less than 2 weeks. ## Look under Pain Management Dr.s on the Internet or a phone book. Be sure you know what generic drug brand works for you. You may need to ask any Dr. you find if h...

Hello,I started using nustrate in 2014 October and I had no problem and never missed my date. It was a 2 month injection so in February 2015 I found out that I was pregnant and unfortunately it was an ectopic pregnancy. I'm still using the nustrate but I am afraid that the same thing might happen again. what can I use to make certainly sure that I won't fall pregnant? Please help me. ## Hello, Zoro! How are you? I'm very sorry about what happened. You may want to speak to your doctor about adding an oral contraceptive as an extra backup. Is it safe to use Omeprazole that expired in October 2014, considering it's now January 2015? ## Hello, Shirley! How are you? Omeprazole doesn't get dangerous once it's expired, but it may start to lose effectiveness versus when it was new, depending upon how it was stored. According to Harvard University’s Medical Center, “Most of what is known about drug expiration dates comes from a study conducted by the Food and Drug Administration at the request of the military. With a large and expensive stockpile of drugs, the military faced tossing out and replacing its drugs every few years. What they found from their study is that 90% of more than 100 drugs, both prescription and over-the-counter, were perfectly good to use even 15 years after the expiration date. So, ...

For the last week especially at night sweats, chills, shaking, feel like I am going through drug withdrawal, dizzy, pacing?? Any feedback? ## Hello, Lisa! How are you? It is always possible to experience some mild withdrawal symptoms like that, if you've taken something for a long period of time, or in a high dose, even if you only took it as prescribed. As listed by the FDA, you may also experience rebound pain, insomnia and diarrhea. It should improve soon, as your body adjusts to being without the Cyclobenzaprine. My period started on September 27th, 2014. I took the tri-previfem pill today Monday,October 6th, 2014 and accidently skipped yesterday Sunday Oct. 5th. I started taking the first Monday pill today since I missed yesterday, which was Sunday. How should I take the pills now? Should I just take the remaining 1st weeks pills skipping yesterday's pill, which I have not taken and start on the 2nd week's pill starting this Sunday? Will it affect my period and will it still prevent me from getting pregnant? ## Hello, Vicky! How are you? You actually should have started taking them the first day of your period to be immediately protected from pregnancy. My physician called in a order of #120 10/325 norco on october 2, 2014, my pharmacy says they honor any/all refills prior to october 6th, I was given 2 r/f by dr. I asked monday when I can fill my xanax, wednesday they called n said xanax anytime, u have to wait til 14th for ur hydro refill. Botttle last month said not-refillable, is it law to put that on label? Obviously my pharm is honoring my refills prior to 10/6. I assume they just legally must put "not refillable" but real info is on their computer? ## Hello! How are you? The best thing to do would be to check with your pharmacy. Some of them are honoring refills written before 10/06 and some aren't. But if they said they are honoring them, then they most likely are intending to do so. This is a narcotic analgesic, so ...

I've been on medroxy for 3 years but stopped in oct 2013. I got a new doctor who put me back on march 2014, I started at 60mg a day because I bleed and don't come off my period. I got down to 40mg the week before last. Last week I started the 20mg. I had intercourse for the first time in a year on 4/5. Everything was fine. I had intercourse on 4/12. On 4/14 I started bleeding and have not stopped. My bleeding is increasing. My doctor told me to up it to 40mg again. In the past was only on 5mg at the most and I have never had this problem. I can't stop bleeding. I'm giving it until Friday before I call my doctor again to see what he wants me to do. This has never happened to me before. What could be going on? ## Hello, Nina! All Hydrocodone Combination medications will become a Schedule II meds Oct. 6, 2014. ## Hello, BL! How are you? Thank you for the very helpful post. It is correct. I recently received the notice about it. That means no more refills and its use will be much more strictly regulated. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Does anyone have any questions about this change?
