My Friend Just had a glass of wine while taking apo sulfatrim (Sulfameth/Trimeth for a UTI. She's Vomiting uncontrollably, extreme nausea and dizziness wont stop for the last 2 hours. How long is this going to last? Can it be fatal? Seeking medical attention is not an option for at least a few hours. ## That's very odd, while the FDA does warn that taking it with alcohol may cause more severe side effects, they don't normally last that long. I have been prescribed apo sulfatrim for a bladder infection - 2 pills a day for 5 days - have taken only 3 so far. I am having copious amounts of gas and feel nauseous. However, if you do chose to imbibe anyway, you should be aware that it can cause a worsening of the side effects, so you may experience more nausea, dizziness and drowsiness than normal. I was given Sulfatrim twice a day for prostatitis 3 days ago and today after getting my urine culture report, the Dr added Macrobid twice a day for a UTI. Now I have too much gas, bloating and weakness already. Should I take both meds twice a day?

I have copd and have had declining lung function. We tried lots if anti biotic no change this. Finally my Dr. did a bronchoscopy and saline rinse and low and behold found two bugs that regular sputum tests missed. He put me on APO-Sulfatrim DS 800/160MG 3 times a day 2 tablets. Sulfamethoxazole + Trimethoprim is a sulfonamide antibacterial combination that is used in the treatment of a variety of bacterial infections, including a variety of upper and lower respiratory tract infections. CAN I TAKE THE APO-sulfatrim 800/160 mg with TUMS. ## This contains Aulfamethoxazole and Trimethoprim, it is an antibiotic that's used to treat various types of infections. And I didn't find any interactions listed between it and the Calcium carbonate in Tums, but you should check with your doctor or pharmacist to be certain. Since the Calcium can affect the absorption of certain medications, it may also be advisable to take them a few hours apart, just to play it safe. I have been taking APO-Sulfatrim DS 800/160mg for 7 days and have 9 days to go. I have a burning rectum after using the washroom for the past 4 days. Diarrhea can be a side effect of this medication, according to the U.S. FDA, so if you're experiencing that, it could explain the issue. Started using this medication (Apo Sulfatrim Ds 800 160 Mg) on October 22, 2014 twice a day (gap of 7 to 8 hrs.) with food & 30 oz water. Also I take doxycycline 100 MG (half pill) either 1 hour before or 2 hrs. after I eat with 12 oz water. Take vitamins with 12 oz orange juice. Can this medication cause welts and itching between the legs and genital area? I've been on these for 8 days now, 2 pills daily. Several days ago a welts formed on each cheek of my behind and now I'm getting them on the front and inside of my legs. Is this a skin reaction from the meds? If that is the case, as reported by the NIH, they tend to get worse with repeated exposure, so you night need to stop taking it and switch to a different antibiotic. The Doctor prescribed me this apo-sulfatrim ds 800/160mg, 84tab for 42 days. This is antibiotic and im worried that it will damage my kidney. Should i take all this 84 tablets? ## Hello, Connie! How are you? Do you have a kidney problem? If so, this antibiotic should not be taken. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. If you do not have an existing kidney problem, it can be taken, but you should be advise to drink plenty of water, unless you're on medical fluid restriction, because it has been known to cause kidney stones.

I take 2mg Ativan daily, 90 mg of Cymbalta daily, 105mg Methadone daily and sometimes use Zantac for heartburn. Are there any drug interactions I should know about?
