Any one in the Anchorage,AK area having trouble getting prescription for tramadol from your Dr.? My Dr. prescribe's me 3-50mg. a day, but for some reason he now will only prescribe me 60 a month. When I first started out with him he would prescribe me 90 a month no problem. I have verifiable lower back" degenerative issue" as he put's it. With MRI to prove it. My daughter has just been given this prescription: DILAUDID – 8 MG Take 3 Tabs PO TID for PRN 30Days Qty:270 Repeats:0 What does it mean? ## 3 pills twice a day for 30 days no refills, this is an unusual rx what is it for? ## The PO means per oral route, so that means to swallow them and the TID actually means three times in a day. Twice in a day would be BID. This is Dialudid, which is a very potent narcotic, so being told she can take 3 of them at once is very unusual and if she isn't tolerant to narcotics, they could make her ill, so she might not want to start with 3. My patient has recently had two (2) toes removed and he has extreme bad pain in his right foot. If you could help him out and get the right pain medication what would you recommend? ## Ideally, only a qualified physician who's examined the patient in person and reviewed their medical history can make an appropriate judgement call on adequate treatment for something like this. However from a layman's (outside) perspective it would seem that starting off with something mid-level in strength would allow for substantial wiggle room in the dosage and/or type of narcotic analgesic being administered. Can dilaudid help oxycodone withdrawls? I had surgery and my prescriptions got all messed up in the process. I take atleast 250mgs a day and now I have withdrawls cause I can't fill my perscription for 10 days. I have been managing my chronic pain illegally for a long time because I have not had insurance. I was originally prescribed oxycodone 15mgs years ago after an injury. Roughly two years later I changed jobs, moved to a new state, and am now self employed and for the first time in years I have insurance. Total it has been about 8 years since I last had medical coverage and seen a Dr., this whole time I have been "self medicating" illegally.
