Any one in the Anchorage,AK area having trouble getting prescription for tramadol from your Dr.? My Dr. prescribe's me 3-50mg. a day, but for some reason he now will only prescribe me 60 a month. When I first started out with him he would prescribe me 90 a month no problem. I have verifiable lower back" degenerative issue" as he put's it. With MRI to prove it. Is tramadol now looked at the same as a narcotic or what? He doesn't even want to discuss the issue. Just weird. ## From an outside perspective I can only think that your doctor may just be looking for you by playing it safe with the dosing so that you don't become too dependent or addicted to the medication. Tramadol is addictive even though its not an opiate. Tramadol is not currently scheduled as a contr...

My daughter has just been given this prescription: DILAUDID – 8 MG Take 3 Tabs PO TID for PRN 30Days Qty:270 Repeats:0 What does it mean? ## 3 pills twice a day for 30 days no refills, this is an unusual rx what is it for? ## The PO means per oral route, so that means to swallow them and the TID actually means three times in a day. Twice in a day would be BID. This is Dialudid, which is a very potent narcotic, so being told she can take 3 of them at once is very unusual and if she isn't tolerant to narcotics, they could make her ill, so she might not want to start with 3. Learn more Dilaudid details here. What was she prescribed them for? ## Oh and just to add a further note on part that I missed, the PRN means she's to take them on an as needed basis, so this...

My patient has recently had two (2) toes removed and he has extreme bad pain in his right foot. If you could help him out and get the right pain medication what would you recommend? ## Ideally, only a qualified physician who's examined the patient in person and reviewed their medical history can make an appropriate judgement call on adequate treatment for something like this. However from a layman's (outside) perspective it would seem that starting off with something mid-level in strength would allow for substantial wiggle room in the dosage and/or type of narcotic analgesic being administered. In my personal opinion based solely off observation (not having had any of my toes removed and can't fathom the amount of pain that might ensue) a moderate dose of hydrocodone appears...

I just started taking Belviq yesterday. I have a previous prescription for Hydrocodone-Acetaminophen and I am considering taking a pill for my knee pain. Will these two drugs interact? ## Hello, Jenny! How are you? I didn't find any interactions or problems listed between these two medications, but it's always best to double check such information to be sure. How long ago was the Vicodin prescribed and are they both from the same prescriber? The FDA classifies Vicodin as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Can dilaudid help oxycodone withdrawls? I had surgery and my prescriptions got all messed up in the process. I take atleast 250mgs a day and now I have withdrawls cause I can't fill my perscription for 10 days. Please help! ## yes dilaudid will help with oxycodone withdrawals but there is a problem with dilaudid you can eat and get unsick but to get the real bang you have to abuse them and alot of people start just by doing it one time then cant stop because it is the best high you can have just being honest ## Dilaudid is just another narcotic, so yes it can help, but you do need to be careful not to take too much of it, or you run the risk of overdose. Learn more Dilaudid details here. The best thing to do would be to check with your doctor to find out if it's safe for you to ...

I have been managing my chronic pain illegally for a long time because I have not had insurance. I was originally prescribed oxycodone 15mgs years ago after an injury. Roughly two years later I changed jobs, moved to a new state, and am now self employed and for the first time in years I have insurance. Total it has been about 8 years since I last had medical coverage and seen a Dr., this whole time I have been "self medicating" illegally. I know that sounds really bad and I am ashamed to say it BUT the reality is I am in constant pain and I couldn't afford insurance OR the mandatory monthly visits to maintain a prescription to a narcotic pain reliever. Not to mention the $200+ bill to fill the prescription monthly. Now that I am insured and starting to become successful I a...

i found in my grandsons room in a plastic bag a very small round smooth peach colored pill with just the letter c on it i would like to know what it is please ## I can't find a listing for this in any of the databases that I checked. And with just a C on it, I am lead to suspect that it's most likely something that's available over the counter. Learn more OTC drug details here. Did you try asking him about it? ## Sounds like a Xanax or Kolonipin generic which starts with a C. I think clomazepam ## Many prescription pills seem to start with C as well. ## I've taken Klonopin generics for 10 years and have never seen a "C" on it! I would check a pill database bc I can't find anything under narcotic RX's, but I have come to find that my Valium, the hospital g...

How are you doing? Since Zubsolve contains Naloxone, you need to be in full withdrawal, before you can start taking it, again. Just like when you first started taking it. Thus, a few days will most likely be required, to avoid precipitated withdrawals. Your doctor should be able to advise you on how long. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I am not doctor shopping yet it seems that everyone that is has made it very difficult to fill my oxycodone script. I live near jacksonville, fl and am starting to get worried... most of the pharmacies that I have called treat me as if I am doing something wrong by trying to fill my meds ## The problem is, probably, that you are calling them. When it comes to narcotics, theft is a very real problem for pharmacies, now. Thus, when you call, even if they do have them, they will usually tell you that they don't have any in stock or do not carry them. The only way to get a real, accurate answer, is by going into the pharmacy, with your valid prescription in hand. This is why you are getting such a bad reaction on the phone, they don't have any way of knowing if you are a legitimate ...

Can I get a prescription for norco 7.5 for a surgery I just had a day before I get my usual prescription of hydrocodone 10mg from my pm dr., and not get in trouble? ## Hello frank. I am in GA and I go to pain management for a severe back problem. I signed a narcotic agreement that states I cannot get a pain med prescription from another dr and fill out, without getting permission from the pain dr first. Hope this helps. ## Momof3 is correct, it depends on your doctor's policies and what you agreed to, when you started seeing them. Additionally, since this is a lower dosage than the one you usually take, it isn't likely to help much. The FDA warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mout...

WHAT IS GABAPENTIN FOR? I WAS GIVEN THESE PILLS WITHOUT MY DOCTOR'S CONSENT. I DON'T KNOW IF IT'S SAFE FOR MY HEALTH? I NEED TO KNOW BEFORE I TAKE IT. PLEASE LET ME KNOW NOW. THANKS! ## Gabapentin is an anticonvulsant that has also been shown to help with certain types of nerve pain. The main issue, if you don't have a prescription for it, however, is that it does not work right away, like a narcotic or anti-inflammatory would. This medication must be taken on a regular basis, for 4 to 6 weeks, to really start having its full effects in the body and help with the type of conditions that I mentioned. Side effects may include: nausea, dizziness, weight changes and dry mouth. Learn more: Are there any other questions? ## Thank you for the info on Gabepentin. I just started ...

I dislocated my shoulder and was given morphine for the pain in the hospital. The hospital gave me a prescription for Lortab, I took two the next day. My face started to get red and now I have itching and my face is puffy. Is this just a reaction and what should I do? ## loratabs make u itchy. that is a side effect...especially if u hardly take them. the redness however u may want to ask a doctor. unless the redness is from u itching yourself like crazy!!! ## Lortab contains the active ingredients Acetaminophen and Hydrocodone, it is a narcotic pain reliever and yes, it can cause some mild itching, as a side effect. However, with the redness and puffiness, that sounds more like an allergic reaction, so you should stop using them and contact your doctor, immediately, for an alternative m...

I am in Indianapolis. Is it hard to find a doctor here to prescribe suboxone? I am having a hard time finding a doctor. I have been on pain killers for years and not only want to get off them but my doctor and the whole practice is starting to deny any prescriptions for narcotics which seems to be the norm here now. I have legit pain but I would rather deal with it then be treated like a drug addict by doctors! I have tried tapering and cold turkey. I think subs are the way to go. My friend stopped using her medication with the help of subs. Can someone please give me info or help on this subject? ## Hello, Inindy! How are you? Can't find name brand percocet 7.5mg/325mg? My prescription says to dispense as written. Where can I get it filled? ## Nikki, What part of the country are you in? I am in Colorado. I'd get the yellow pages and start calling. ## Hello, Nikki! How are you? You will not get an accurate answer by calling pharmacies. They have no way of knowing if the person on the phone is a legitimate customer with a need, or a potential thief, so they will just tell you that they do not carry it. You will actually need to physically go into the pharmacies, with the prescription in hand, in order to get an accurate answer.
