I just moved here from florida and I have been prescribed 130 oxycodone 30 mg for 2 and a half years. I have an mri, script history, and medical record. Can anybody give me any suggestions as to where I can go to be seen and get the meds my body requires? I am trying to find a medication oriented pain management dr for someone in the washington dc area ## When I lived in that area, I did not find any that were solely medication oriented. There was one doctor in Rockville that uses medications, as well as other pain management techniques, but it has been a long time and I do not remember his name. My original prescribing doctor passed away 2 days before my next appointment, so I never got my prescription. He was prescribing me 1mg. Xanax 3 times a day. The Suboxone Doc I was seeing in Cambridge, md is leaving the practice and I cant find another doc to save my life. Any suggestions are appreciated. ## Unfortunately, no one can really know ahead of time what a doctor is or is not willing to prescribe, as that is based on the doctor's discretion and not on someone else's previous appointment (especially since many doctor's are now worried about losing their licensing for prescribing too many narcotics). Some advice I can give you is to not specifically ask for any 'specific medication' when you see a new doctor. Just make sure to transfer or take a copy of all your medical records with you. O.k, I'm a first time Oxycodone patient, Well not even first time because I cannot get my prescription filled. I have been everywhere. Most places just say we don't have it. One place said my insurance won't pay enough so she wanted 872.00 to fill it and them when I told her I couldn't afford it she said she would sell me a couple of them loose. Hi my name is DJ and I'm on a methadone clinic now but they don't give pills or liquid for monthly and my work now travels outta state . ## If you're taking it for addiction treatment, then a private doctor cannot prescribe it to you for such treatment. That can only be done in a clinic setting, by a doctor that is specially trained in addiction treatment. And they are required to give some take homes, but not necessarily a full months worth. I would like to try it but I don't know who will prescribe it. ## Hello, Tiffany! How are you? Any doctor can prescribe it, there aren't any restrictions on it, from what I can find. However, there are prescribing parameters, it should only be prescribed for obese patience that also have one weight related complication, such as high blood pressure or diabetes. Side effects to the medication may include nausea, headache, nausea and constipation. Do you currently have a doctor that you see regularly? If so, you may want to ask them about it.

I am a mother of 3 on medical assistance and have had trouble getting any help with my pain. I've been to several family doctors looking for help but because of this drug epidemic, they treat you like a drug addict and shew you out the door. They don't want to help and don't trust a thing you say. They look at an xray and mri and if there is no obvious sign ofl breakage, fracture or whatever else they look for, they don't trust a word you say. I deal with pain everyday of my life and severe migraines at least once a month and the doctors here are so in fear and are so use to dealing with drug addicts, that they offer no help. I am in between primary Doctors. I got out of a nursing facility three weeks ago with only two to three days of pain meds. I can't see a Doctor until three weeks from now. Hello, I live in Waldorf Maryland I was seeing a wonderful doctor until he passed away. I was getting 90 30mg pills until I changed it to 120 15mg. ( I know what your thinking but I didn't want to have to cut it in half when I needed less ).
