I'm looking for a new pain management Doctor near King of Prussia Pa. I've been a chronic pain patient for about 10 years. Had low back & beck surgery with hardware. I don't want to write a long drawn out story. My question is to Lee C or anyone that can help me. I'm presently taking Oxycodone 30's 6 x's day. My body has become so immune to it that it is only working to relieve my pain for about an hour. I believe that I need a longer acting medication with the Oxycodones. However, I don't seem to get much help from my doctor. Therefore, I'm looking for a new pain management Doctor near the King of Prussia Pa area. Can anyone provide me with some suggestions? Thank you.

My daughter is disabled, non verbal and has severe self hitting behavior issues. She is blind due to retina detachment. She got multiple surgeries for retina reattachment. She still has silicon oil in her eyes to hold the retina in place. From the last two years she has been complaining about some kind of pain but not sure where the pain could be. She tries to punch her head and ears a lot. She is getting treatment by doctors for pain relief but it is not helping. Right now she is getting gabapentin 900mg three times daily along with Cymbalta, Lorazepam and Trileptal. Only her sleeping issue is a little better but she is still continuously uncomfortable with pain. Doctors think it could be behavior temper tantrum attacks. Is there any other doctor who can advise us on how to improve the...

I have shoulder pain and am a diabetic patient. Can I take Predmet tablets for relief of pain? This pain started after catching a chikungunya fever. ## Hi Veena, sorry to hear about your illness and pain. Predmet contains the active ingredient Methylprednisolone, which is a corticosteroid indicated for the treatment of pain and inflammation (among other things). So yes, in the short term, it will probably help with pain relief. But keep in mind that this kind of drug is not meant to be taken over a long time or stopped abruptly, as some serious side effects may develop. So I would suggest working closely with your doctor while taking this medication, and then gradually lowering your dose until you are off it. Your doc should know this and I'm sure they will have you on an appropriat...

I have been suffering from migraine for the last 14 years. I started with Migranil and then moved on to Vasograin (both prescribed by different doctors). I have been taking Vasograin during each bout of migraine for several years (7-8) now and do feel instant relief if I have consumed the pill within 30 minutes of the onset of pain. On average, I have to take Vasograin 6 times a month. What are the side effects of long-term usage of this medicine?

Hey everyone! I would really like to get some feedback from people who have been on Cymbalta for at least a few years. I have been on Cymbalta 60 mg for three months now. I feel that it has given me some relief from my nerve pain related to damage from surgeries on the right wrist. But there have been some concerning stories from long-term users of Cymbalta; including diminished pain relief, short-term memory loss, weakness, etc. I am very concerned about whether there are long-term side effects of this drug. Especially because I heard that the longer you take it the harder it is for your body to get off it. Feedback from any long-term users of Cymbalta, good stories and bad stories, would be greatly appreciated. Thank you ## Hello, Concerned! How are you? There are such risks associate...

Does Dexilant keep my body from getting nutrients? Wondering if I need to supplement with something more than Magnesium. Also wondering what studies say about taking it for years? I have a hiatal hernia, so there is no relief in sight for me. ## Hello, Sharon! How are you? I've not seen any reports on that, so far, however I'll do some more searching and post back if I do find anything. As to long-term use, yes, it does increase the risk of hip fractures. It seems that long-term use of all medications that the FDA classifies as proton pump inhibitors can do that. They may also cause side effects, such as nausea, flatulence and stomach pain. How long have you been taking it? Usually, these are only used for a maximum of 16 weeks, before taking a break from them. ## I have been on...

I'm a 35 year old male and have been taking Pantocid 40mg for the past 7 years (twice a week). Will that be a problem with regards to any potential long term effects? And what if I continue to take it long term? Would you recommend any alternative treatment? Please advise me. ## Hello, Ketty! How are you? Long term use of these medications can increase the risk of hip fractures, but it is must more prevalent in the elderly. Only you and your doctor can decide how long it will be safe for you to take it. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain and flatulence. Are you on any other medications? ## Hi Verwon, Thanks for the reply. I've been using nasal spray for sinus congestion relief (Furamist). Is there any permanent ...

I suffer from pain in both knees. I also suffer from pain in my left ankle region which my doctor tells me is due to "inflammation". He has prescribed me Altraday - 1 tablet every night at bed time for 5 nights and says it should not be taken too often. I do not get a clear answer from him on how often is "too often". I have experimented on my own and found that 1 tablet a day gives me good relief from pain for the first 24 hours and somewhat reduced relief for the next 24 hours. On this basis, if I continue to take one tablet of Altrday every alternate day on long term basis, I hope to lead a much better life. Is it OK, or do you have any suggestions? ## Hello, Ritinkar! How are you? Altraday contains the active ingredient Diclofenac. The FDA classifies this as a nonste...

Hi All. I am new to this experience. I learned on 12.12.16 I had a 4.7 CM Gist in my stomach with a mitoic rate of 7. The gist was removed 1.12.17 and I began a 3 year journey on a daily dose of 400 mg of Gleevec on 1.25.17. As time progressed, so did my side effects. By April 2017 the side effects were beginning to side line me. It was difficult to quantify these to my team, made up of an oncologist, ontological surgeon and gastroenterologist. Oh and the Blue Shield research pharmacist also (A free and wonderful resource). I had "nausea" but was not inclined to upchuck. I had "reflux" but no pain. I was told I could dose down on the Gleevec - but that sounded like a a bad idea to me, long term. I was given Nexium, Carafate, all sorts of acid reducers to no avail. Ginger ev

I am a long term chronic pain patient, due to complications from surgeries pregormed to try to correct a disabilitating, painful, congenital back deformity. Each surgey failed to relieve my pain. I am also very sensative to medications and am unable to take anything with acetomenophen. I did get good relief with NSAIDS, but had GI complications and cannot take those either. I am very intolerant of opiates because of the side effects, nausea, etc. I also cannot stand the, "high" that usually causes people to increase their meds, as they become more tolerant. After exhaustive evaluation at a pain clinic, a combination that helped my pain and I was able to tolerate, was finally discovered. It consisted of low dose MS Contin every 8 hours, plain Darvon 65 for breakthrough pain and l...

living in muskegon mi in need of a dr who will prescribe Norco 10 for degenerative disk disease and scoliosis my dr doesnt believe in narcotics for pain relief and i need to find work asap, please help me with some names and numbers of Dr.s accepting new patients. ## Hello, Liz! How are you? Unfortunately, there is no listing of doctors according to what they will or will not prescribe that I can refer to for you. If you require such medications on a long-term ongoing basis, you'll need to see a specialists. Is there a chance your current doctor could refer you to someone? That would most likely be the easiest to find the help you need. Due to the new regulations that were put in place this year, if you require such medications on a long-term ongoing basis for the treatment of chronic pain, you'll need to see a pain management specialist. Do you currently have a PCP that you see regularly? If so, having them refer you to someone would most likely be the easiest way to get the help you need. Is this a prescription pain drug.? ## The correct spelling is OxyContin. ## My cousin was prescribed this drug for a minor back problem and got addicted. He tried to stop tons of times. He died last summer of mixing the drug they gave him to help him quit with this drug. I warn anyone out there, please do not take this drug no matter how much pain you are in! ## Actually, when used properly under a doctor's supervision this is a very good drug to handle chronic pain conditions. It helps many people who have exhausted other treatment options. I am very sorry to hear about your cousins death, a true tragedy and one of many that have happened due to misuse of this drug. Oxycontin should NEVER be prescribed for someone who only needs short term pain relief for a minor problem. It should...

Pain clinics with same day appointments in Houston Texas? ## Hello, Jartan555! How are you? Such clinics/doctors no longer exist. There was far too much over prescribing and improper prescribing. Now, in order to be treated for pain on a long-term ongoing basis, one must see a pain management specialist. If you are in pain and require short-term relief, until you can do so, a nearby ER would be your best bet. Is there anything else I can help with? ## you ever find one in Houston? I have 2 bulging discs in my lower back... will this medication actually help with the pain ## Hi Kristen, Because everyone reacts and responds to these types of medications differently, I can't say that it "will" work, as I don't know your medical history, the severity of your pain, and other personal factors that your doctor should have taken into consideration before prescribing it to you. Methocarbamol is used to relieve the discomfort caused by acute (short-term), painful muscle or bone conditions. So in that sense I would think that it should offer at least some noticeable relief. Is this your first time taking pain medication?

I have both chronic and acute headaches. I've taken everything. The only relief I ever get is through narcotics. No one will prescribe them so I've spent the last 10 years in bed, in the dark. I would really like to die because the pain is so bad. When it gets bad I'll go to the ER but they won't even help me. I also have a problem with my body making kidney stones. Please help. ## Hello, Rocky! How are you? Due to the new regulations that were put in place last year, if you require narcotics on a long-term ongoing basis, you'll need to see a specialist. A PCP won't be able to prescribe them for you. Thus, you'll likely need to see a neurologist and a urologist. Do you currently have a PCP that could refer you to other doctors? I was under pain management for 10 yrs in Memphis & my doc passed away. Was seeing Dr Douglas Jones but he took teaching position at University of TN. I would be willing to travel to Ark if necessary. Have Medicare & on disability & have been on pain meds for years to manage severe back pain. Need to find a doctor with some compassion.
