sub, for maylan for blood pressor ## There are far too many things about prescription medications that are confusing for the average consumer and something should really be changed. Mylan is not the name of a medication, it is the name of a manufacturer that makes prescription medications. The name brand for the medication containing Spironolactone and Hydrochlorothiazide is Aldactazide and it is actually manufactured by G.D. Searle LLC. You can learn more Aldactazide details here. It combines two different types of medications to help remove fluid from the body to treat conditions such as high blood pressure, edema and congestive heart failure. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache and dehydration. The tablet manufactured by Mylan that is a generic for this medication is...

high blood presure ## My new cardiologist has prescribed Micardis HCT to replace Triam HCTZ. My blood pressure has always been fine using Triam HCTZ and Atenolol. This new drug costs more ansd seems to list a lot of side effects. I'd like to know what experience others have had with Micardis HCT. Thanks ## Joanne, if you are happy with what your doctor was taking, then just tell them that you would rather not switch. In most cases, they are prescribing something new because some drug rep from the company bopped into their office and talked them into it. They got free samples, free gifts, free pens, whatever. It really doesn't matter that a newer med is really a great unkown, the drug reps tell them it is great, so they start writing scrips for it. ## Thank you. This same cardiol...

What are the side effects of HCG? ## Hi Terry, The HCG diet seems like a pretty extreme way to lose weight. Personally, I have my doubts about it's long term effectiveness, due to the lack of calories and nutrients needed to fuel your mind & body throughout the day, everyday. You can easily determine the side effects of eating 500 calories a day, by only eating 500 a day and assessing how you feel (although I don't recommend trying it for your own sanity). You can view a good article on the HCG diet in the link below: health.usnews.com/health-news/diet-fitness/diet/articles/2011/03/14/hcg-diet-dangers-is-fast-weight-loss-worth-the-risk Based on statistics and popular opinion, if you're looking for long-term weight loss, it really just comes down to a healthy proportioned...

Since I became allergic to lisinopril, I've been taking 1 losartan hydrochlorothiazide 100-12.5 daily for 2 yrs. for blood pressure. When in FL for the winter, the pill was a different size, assume mfg. by different company, and ankles didn't hurt. In NY, I get the same drug, a bit different sized, and now my ankles ache and perhaps a very small swelling on outside ankle bone. Is it possible that the NY pills cause this while the FL pills don't? ## Since I became allergic to lisinopril, I've been taking 1 losartan hydrochlorothiazide 100-12.5 daily for 2 yrs. for blood pressure. i was prescribed diovan 320 mg htc norvitis and diovan 320 mg valsartan, are these the same drug ## No, they are not really the same. The Diovan HCT combines the ARB medication Valsartan with the diuretic Hydrochlorothiazide, which removes excess fluids from the body. The regular Diovan just contains the ARB medication Valsartan. Are there any comments or questions?

IS THERE A SUBSTITUTE FOR MICARDIS HTC THAT IS CHEAPER AND STILL WORKS AS GOOD. ## Micardis HCT was only approved for use in 2000, this the companies patent is still active and a generic is not available. ## THANKS FOR THE INFO. ## Very welcome ## Is there a drug in the same family as Micardis that might be cheaper? ## is there a substitute for the drug micardis hct 80mg/25mg that is cheaper ## My Pharmacist and Cardiologist just changed micardis to losartan potassium at a MUCH lower cost. Check it out with your Dr. ## My insurance recommended Losartan to replace Micardis, because of the cost, I was on it for a month, it didn't work for me, plus it gave me headaches, had to go back to Micardis. ## My pharmacist suggested amodipine besylate, trade name Mylan. He said it would be much...

Can i take cheratussin ac syrup with losartan htc 100 ## Hello, Jackie! How are you? I don't find any interactions or problems listed between them, but it's always best to double check such information to be sure. Has your doctor prescribed both? The FDA classified Cheratussin AC as a narcotic cough suppressant, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Losartan is classified as an ARB that is most commonly used to treat high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditions. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, increase urination and hypotension.

I have been taking 20 mg lisinopril with the diuretic and my blood pressure has been anywhere from 140?/90? To 150?/98 or so. Today my doctor switched me to losartan hctz100-25 mg. I'm worried the mg in losartan is so much higher than the lisinopril. Is this safe? Will this make my blood pressure drop to an unsafe level? I took the lisinopril this morning and he told me to start the losartan tomorrow morning. Is this okay? ## Hello, Melissa! How are you? That is a normal starting dose for Losartan, it may seem a lot higher than the dosage you were taking of Lisinopril, however, since it is in a different class of medications, it is actually only a little higher, which I'm guessing is due to the fact that your blood pressure readings were still high and need further lowering. How...

Did Mylan ever package Triamterene-HTCZ 37.5-25 MG CP that wasn't dispensed in bottles? My drugstore hunted for us and found the yellow & green pill, but it's not in a bottle, just a yellow flat pk. Is it counterfeit? ## There is no specific way a manufacturer is required to package a medication. While most use bottles, since it is cheaper, and more convenient, not all of them do. What are the markings on them? Can you please post back with this additional information? That is what would enable me to double check the contents for you. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension.

Had not taken BP tablet for a while, then had a test that showed the pressure was high, finds the med. I take has expired but still has a lot, should I just discard them or can it still be safe to use? ## Hello, Bingbing1956! How are you? Medications start to lose effectiveness over time, so it's not going to work as well, since it's been expired for 2 years. Beyond that, you need to see your doctor, get on a good, non-expired medication and stick with it. There is no cure for high blood pressure, it has to be continually controlled and you can't just take a medication until it's at normal levels and then stop, because it will go up, again. The medications also take time to reach their full level of efficacy in the body, so they aren't something you can just take as ...

I have been on losartan 100mg 25mg HTCZ (LUP) for over 2 years. Recently pharmacy filled using a different manufacturer (NOR) and WOW!!! Once it was in my system I awoke in the middle of the night with dizziness to the point of waking me up. Thinking it was an inner ear issue I continued taking for almost a month. Dizziness and lightheadness continued but not as bad as the first night. (Several times during the day) I felt like I was walking around in a fog and almost felt like it was poisoning me. Went to the Dr. And back to the pharmacy to make sure I was put back on the drug I had been on for 2 years with little problems. I'm not one to complain only trying to help someone else before they spend a month trying to figure out what's going on. ## Wow, Cindy! I am so very sorry a...

I take hydralazine, Htcz (hydrochlorothiazide), lisinopril and amlodipine. I have no energy what so ever when I try to work outside like in the garden. My blood pressure drops really low to where I almost black out. Any reason why this is happening? ## All of these medications can lower blood pressure, as well as treat certain cardiac conditions, according to FDA approved uses, and if you are working in the garden while it's warm, or hot out, that can also lower your blood pressure. Thus, it may be dropping too low during such activity. There is also a risk that you are dehydrated. Activity also lowers your blood pressure, so you may need a dosage adjustment. Have you spoken to your doctor about it? Where do you live and what have your recent temperatures been like? I know some days...

My doctor took me off Lisinopril htcz because I became severely dehydrated. He put me on Metoprolol 100 mg and Doxazosin Mesylate 2 mg and now I'm losing my hair after being on these drugs for about 2 mos. I need to get off these drugs asap, is there another drug for high blood pressure that will not cause hair loss? ## Hello, Jan! How are you? Hair loss is most commonly caused by Metoprolol, as listed by the FDA. Other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension. Yes, you can get Lisinopril without the HCTZ, you can also take it with the Doxazosin, if your doctor thinks you need more than one medication to bring your blood pressure down. Thus, it's definitely worth your asking them about it. The side effects for these are very simil...

How are you? I'm sorry about the problems that you're having. Metoprolol is a beta blocker that is listed by the FDA as most commonly being used to treat high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditions. Typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension. Yes, there is a risk of that, but not a very high one. If your heart is working to hard, you should take this, as prescribed by the doctor, because letting th...

i stopped taking THC for 50 days, but it is showing up in my lab work. Does hydrocodone have HTC in it? ## It is THC and no hydrocodone doesn't contain THC. ## THC -- stays in the fatty tissue for a long time. if you have been taking cannabis for a extended period you can expect it to slowly bleed out till its undetectable . Also, if you chip it will extend that period even longer. you need to stay clear of it completely till it doesn't remain in your body anymore. So im told ;) ## @shaybo, In my experience, Roxi is right about THC and how it can remain in the fatty tissue for a long time. As to exactly how long, I'm not quite sure. However, typically, the only type of analysis that would discover it that far after consumption is a hair follicle diagnostic, which they say go...

Can these medicine be taken with Tramadol, and Hydrocodone/acetaminophen 5-500 mg tablet. I am also a predibetic. ## Hi Victoria, It looks like you posted your question twice within the same paragraph.
