How Long Does Op 40 Last

1st time taking oxycontin what can i expect? ## Hi thrillseeker, From what I've read, 40mg is considered to be somewhat of a high dose for a first time user. However, your reaction to it really depends a lot on your tolerance to narcotics. Someone who has taken them on a frequent basis and in higher doses will likely need to have more in order to notice any sort of effect on their pain levels. Also, you may want to be fully aware of the potential side effects that are commonly associated with narcotics (i.e. dizziness, drowsiness, nausea, dry mouth, etc). A more complete list of side effects can be found here: nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/meds/a682132.html#side-effects Have you taken any other types of pain medications prior to getting oxycontin?

How long does opana 40mg work for in your system? I took half of one just because I had nothing else for the pain. Then I tried to take my regular medicine and it's like it stopped it from working. How long till this goes away and I can take my regular medicine? It is the ER tablets btw. ## Hi Brooke - the Extended Release Opana is meant to work in your body for about 12 hours, with a half life of about 9-11 hours.[1] May I ask what your other medicine is? It would be important to check for potential drug interactions too. And with a half life of up to 11 hours it would still take some more time to be fully metabolized in your body. Days I would think. I started taking methadone about 10yrs ago for pain. Started with 80mg a day and by the 2nd yr I was down to 40-50 mg a day. Over this past year I weaned myself off to nothing VERY slowly. It has been a month and I still can't sleep and feel like crap. Any replies would be appreciated. ## Methadone is notoriously hard to stop, it's very well known to cause severe withdrawals and cravings that can last a very long time. It may actually take a couple months, before you start to feel back to normal. That's why many people treated with it for drug addiction end up on a lifetime maintenance dose of it, rather then becoming completely drug free. The FDA classifies this medication as an opiate, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, ...

I'm quiting Opana using Suboxone. I've gradually come down from Opana ER 40 mg to 10 mg over a period of 6 months, and am switching today to Suboxone film. Dr told me to wait 24 to 36 hrs before starting Subs (wait till I can't stand the withdrawals any longer). Normally on 10 mg Opana I start to feel withdrawals within 12 hrs, can't get comfortable in my skin, can't sleep, restless leg etc. Problem is I ran out of 10 mg yesterday so the single last Opana I took was an ER 40 mg. It's been 30 hrs and still no noticable withdrawals. I don't want to start the Suboxone until feeling the withdrawals as instructed cause I don't want the Subs to kick in and suddenly block the Opana causing worse withdrawals. How long should I wait? ## There is really no precise ...

I have been taking Opana er 40mg for over a year. My last refill was April 12, i was given a round pill with 40 on one side and E on the back. I am in constant pain! Any suggestions, I take 3 per day with 10/325 percocets 4x day. The pharmacy told the Dr. i must have been crushing my pills - i wasn't. I'm not crazy, these pills don't work. ## The Opana time released tablets were recently reformulated, with the intent to make them harder to abuse. Unfortunately, just as with the OxyContin reformulation, this has caused problems for some people, such as unusual side effects, or the medication not working as well as it used to. Are there any other questions or comments? ## Don't feel like you're crazy ! ! ! I'm upset with all the pain dr.Who have been giving his pat...

Hi My daughter has 2 bottle of amoxicillin in the refrigerator. Never used but already mixed. The pink one. The expiration date in the bottle says January 2018. Will it still be good to use? The actual date mixed was July 18 2016 ## In my opinion it should be perfectly fine to take. I say this because I would personally feel comfortable taking it based on the info you provided. Depending on storage conditions many prescriptions can reportedly last up to 40 years after the listed expiration date (with few exceptions such as tetracycline). Harvard University and the LA Times both have articles online recognizing this... But since it's not even January 2018 yet I wouldn't even begin to question its efficacy (especially because it has been refrigerated)... Does anyone else have thou...

i have been taking oxy oc 60mg 2aday as prescribed never abused them last month it was swiched to 60mg of the new oxy op not nearly as effective and double the cost ## Switching to the new one has nothing to do with abuse, everyone has to switch, because they are no longer making the original. Once the pharmacies run out of their current supply, they will all have the new product and can only fill prescriptions with it. There have been many complaints that it is not as effective in the new formulation and some people have mentioned having weird side effects. I suggest reporting the problem to Purdue and the FDA. Purdue Pharma number for drug safety/medication issues: 888.726.7535 FDA MedWatch number: 800-332-1088 Are there any questions or comments?

Hello, I've been taking sartel 20mg daily every morning for the last 40 days. During my doctor's investigation my BP was about 140/100 in the day time commonly and rarely 150/100 for a few days. Now my BP is continuously 130/90 max and has been for 20 days. My doctor advised me to take 3 months worth of tablets. But i feel the need to stop the tablet. So please guide me. Shall i stop or continue? If i stop the tablet will my BP go up or cause any issues? I am very scarred to take this tablet. So please provide your expert opinion. ## Why are you scared to take the medication? While it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension, it is far more dangerous to let your blood pressure elevate to possibly dangerous levels. And yes,...

are the crush proof 40mg opanas out yet ## are the crush proof 40mg opanas out yetorbne ## Yes, they do appear to have been recently made available in the new formulation. However, some pharmacies may still be experiencing a backlog, due to the fact that the supply was short for awhile and many people were waiting to get their prescriptions filled. Are there any other questions or comments? ## I noticed the label on my last refill for opana 40mg for the 1st time stated "the color & shape of this medication may be different from what you have been getting, but still works the same as your previous med." Upon checking, some pills were the same hexigonal shaped yellow pills i had been getting and the remaining pills were the same color but were round and were almost like rubber...

what is then dosage for oxymorphine er15 vs opana 40mg? ## Oxymorphone is the active ingredient in Opana, so the base dosage would be the same. The only difference in war you've listed is that the ER designates that one as being a time released formulation, rather than a regular release like the other one. Are there any other questions or comments? ## I don't understand your question. Opana 40mg is extended release and oxymorphone 15mg ER is the generic version of Opana 15mg ER. So the only difference is the strength as there is no such thing as instant release Opana 40mg. The only IR version of Opana is 10mg, which is available as the generic oxymorphone 10mg. I hope this answers your question, if not, please repost your question and make sure your last post was what you meant ...

need info on 8mg dilaudid and what might be a good medication for breakthrough pain while taking this med every 2 hours. please help. ive been on oxycontin & roxycodone and cant find them anymore thats why i changed to dilaudid. please help. ## Opana Ir Or Er im sure an Opana 40 Er would would cover your pain if not try Morphine, I prefer morphone. Hydro-morphone= dilaudid. Oxy-morphone=Opana. I say Opana is ATLEAST equal to an Oc 80. Fentayln patches also work great as well as liquid Morphine Sulfate. Mainly for Iv but can be ingested. ## YEs, if you're on the regular release formulation, you may want to ask your doctor about using the time release formulation for longer pain control. As was already mentioned, it's called Opana ER. Does anyone else have any ideas to add? ##...

I have been prescribed Opana ER 40 mg three times a day, since 2003. In the last two months it has become unavailable from the manufacturer, you. I have been able to substitute 20 mg ER and it works, just more pills. Now they have become unavailable, and it hurts. You can't just stop taking this medication. I'm sure you know after eight years you go thru withdrawals on top of the pain. What can I replace the Opana with? ## No, this site is not the manufacturer, this site does not manufacture any medications, or products, this is an information only website. The reason the Opana was in short supply was to do to the fact that the manufacturer was reformulating the tablets to help prevent abuse. However, they have recently become available again, so you should be able to find them ...

For the last 18 months I have seen a Pain Management Dr. in Pittsburgh Pa. I really like him. When I first started seeing him, I was on Methadone 30mg 3x a day. But had been on it for the last 6 yrs, so it really wasn't working all that great. In Sept. he put me on Opana 40mg 2 x a day. And it kind of helped. But when they changed its composition, it started to make me throw up. So, my Dr. put me on Morphine Sulfate 60mg 2 x a day. At first it caused severe vomiting. So I called him up, and told the nurse, and told her also that I dumped the bottle down the toilet, because I thought, this stuff, is nasty. He refused to write me a different script, and told me to come in as soon as I could get an appointment. Well, a week had gone by, and I was fishing around in my purse for some Neu...

I need help locating a pharmacy in northwest Ohio to fill my prescription of opana 40mg for sunday. If you are aware of a pharmacy still having a few opana 40mg instock it would greatly appreciated? ## Have you tried checking with the various pharmacies? The only thing I can really suggest is trying that, but you'll usually have to go in, with your prescription in hand, because if you call they won't give you a straight answer, since they've no way of knowing if you are legitimate customer. Does anyone know of a pharmacy in this area that has them? ## call endo pharmaceutical. I called last week and was able to get some within 24 hrs at local pharmacy in SE Ohio. Please help me. Nancy I am 57 yrears old. ## If the doctor put you on a lower dosage and you went down from 40mg to 30mg, then the shaking and other symptoms you had could have been from the adjustment. Even if you do not abuse a medication, your body still gets used to having that substance in your body in a certain amount and will react to any change. This is what cause...

How long do the effects of a Kenalog inj. last? I got gout while traveling alone on a cruise, and my only option was a Kenalog inj. This was a week ago today. My results have been completely favorable with no side effects (so far), but had I had the option, I would NEVER have chosen to have cortisone. I'm wondering how long the pain relieving effects of Kenalog last (1 week, 1 month, 1 year?) but mostly I am wondering if I may have untoward effects later. Has anyone had any experience in a case like this? ## It actually contains Triamcinolone, still a corticosteroid, but a different one. Its typical side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, acne, weight gain and fluid retention, as reported by the FDA. It's actually usually dosed weekly for gout,...

T level was @ 400 but was having all the symptoms of low T so I had 10 pellets inserted 1/23. had levels checked 3/12 and levels went up to only 447 with no real signs/benefits of the pellets. Has anybody else had the testopel not work? I am debating on trying the gel, but I am wondering if that will be effective. Went with the pellets for obvious reasons but am very disappointed with the results. ## We've had a few posts about it, but so far they've all been about positive results. Has your doctor advised you of any reason they aren't working, or what your other options are? ## I have had the testopel pellets inserted 4 times. All have worked very very very well until the last time which was about six weeks ago. Don't know why. I have 10 inserted every 3 months as I had...

I am age 69 and I've been taking high blood pressure medicine for the last twenty years. I had an angioplasty operation 6 years back. Two years back my doctor prescribed Eritel 40mg for my BP. However, if I use it for three consecutive days, my pulse rate falls drastically along with my blood pressure. Recently, I started suffering from psoriasis on my hands and body. Has this drug something to do with it?
