I have been put on 200mg of Cefpodoxime for life. I had an infected TKR (knee replacement) and infection was not stopped. I have had now my third TKR and the doctor has put me on this antibiotic. It has kept the infection away for about a year and a half now but wondering what side effects or concerns I should have. I try to periodically look up anyone that takes antibiotics daily and I can never find anyone. Can I stop at some point? is this bad? The antibiotic does keep the infection away and I don't want another infection again but this still seems extreme. Any thoughts? ## Hello, Anderson! How are you? Yesterday I cut my self . my cut is 1 inch Long x 1/2 inch deep on tip of my hand. What antibiótico can I use. ## Hello, Oscar! How are you? I'm sorry about the cut. An antibiotic is really only needed, if it becomes infected. Taking one inappropriately could cause you to develop antibiotic resistant bacteria. Is it showing any signs of redness or swelling? Have you had it checked out by a medical professional? The FDA lists the typical side effects of antibiotics as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.

my two back molar teeth are hurting. No dental coverage have almost thirty pills of amox tr-k clv 825-125 mg will this help my tootache. Also took ibprofen still hurts. ## Hello, Bebe! How are you? I'm sorry that you're in pain. This is an antibiotic, so it will only help if there is an infection present and it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. And it will not negate the need to see a dentist, either. While it can remove an infection, it will not correct the underlying cause of an infection, so it will just keep recurring until the issue is corrected by your dentist. Is there anything else I can help with?

Could I have pneumonia? ## It is possible, however, there are also other possibilities, according to the NIH, such as a cold, asthma, congestive heart failure, bronchitis, and etc. However, only your doctor can give you a definitive diagnosis. And regardless of which condition might be causing these symptoms, essential oils are not going to cure it. Viruses will have to run to their course, and other conditions will require medical treatment. Has there been any change? ## please go see a doctor. they can listen to lungs and get an xray to see if you have pneumonia. that's what they did for me and i...

I have a painful toothache. The dentist office is closed on Sunday. I have 1 ciprofloxacin 500 mg and cephalexin 500 mg. I don't know if they are okay to take for my toothache. ## Those are both antibiotics, used to treat various types of infections, so they may help, but it will not be enough to completely get rid of the infection and they will not treat pain. It is very important that you see a dentist to get to the root of the problem and, if needed, get enough antibiotics to clear up an infection. Are there any other questions?

I have been prescribed this (amox tr-k clv) for an outbreak of boils....I had the same outbreak 3 yrs ago and the doc said (without testing) that it could be MRSA. (My son actually did have MRSA at the same time this was going on). Will this stuff work if in fact it is MRSA? ## Hello, Scott! How are you? I was recently treated for a yeast infection at the ER nd two weeks later I went for a follow up with my Dr , I was told I have a uti however I have bk symptoms. I was prescribed sulfameth/trimethoprim 800/160 , I'm on day 5 nd I've noticed a white milky discharge. Is this normal???? ## "NO SYMPTOMS" ## A white, milky discharge would be more indicative of a yeast infection. You may have had one to begin with, been treated for it and got rid of it, then you may have gotten another one from the antibiotic for the UTI, it's almost a vicious cycle. Have you consulted your doctor again, yet?
