my two back molar teeth are hurting. No dental coverage have almost thirty pills of amox tr-k clv 825-125 mg will this help my tootache. Also took ibprofen still hurts. ## Hello, Bebe! How are you? I'm sorry that you're in pain. This is an antibiotic, so it will only help if there is an infection present and it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. And it will not negate the need to see a dentist, either. While it can remove an infection, it will not correct the underlying cause of an infection, so it will just keep recurring until the issue is corrected by your dentist. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have a painful toothache. The dentist office is closed on Sunday. I have 1 ciprofloxacin 500 mg and cephalexin 500 mg. I don't know if they are okay to take for my toothache. ## Those are both antibiotics, used to treat various types of infections, so they may help, but it will not be enough to completely get rid of the infection and they will not treat pain. It is very important that you see a dentist to get to the root of the problem and, if needed, get enough antibiotics to clear up an infection. Are there any other questions?

I do not have dental insurance and I am suffering from a toothache. From past experiences, it feels like an exposed nerve. Is there anything over the counter that you can recommend I take to help reduce any infection as well as reduce the pain? ## Hi, Spencer! Sorry about the toothache. No, there is nothing available over the counter that can help with the infection. That's going to require an antibiotic and those are only available by prescription, except for the ointments that can't be used in your mouth. For pain, there are several options, such as Orajel and Anbesol, but they are just topical anesthetics that won't last for long, plus you need to check with a doctor or dentist to make sure they are safe for you to use. I know it can be expensive, but you really need to s...

I have a bad toothache and it's making my head and ear hurt can I take pentrexyl ## Hello, Ray! How are you? I'm sorry about the tooth ache. Pentrexyl contains Ampicillin, which is an antibiotic, so it can be used to treat dental infections. The FDA classifies it as an antibiotic and its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. However, you need to check with your dentist to make sure that its due to an infection, because taking it, if you don't have one could result in your developing antibiotic resistant bacteria. And, if you do have a dental infection, an antibiotic will not resolve whatever underlying issue caused the infection, such as a deep dental cary. That will still need to be corrected, or the infe...

Can i still take clindamycin for my toothache? It expired 3 months ago. Is it safe? ## Hello, Tiffany! How are you? It is never a good idea to take an expired antibiotic. Since medications lose effectiveness over time, it may not completely eradicate the bacteria and could result in your developing antibiotic resistant bacteria. It would be best to see your dentist for a new prescription, if an infection is present. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with?

Can I take doxycycline 100mg for a toothache? I'm also taking Lisinopril 20 mg and Bupropion 75mg. ## John Docycline is not a pain reliever it wouldn't have any pain relieving properties.Ibuprophen is excellent for tooth pain it's an OTC med. ## Can I take the antibiotic for a bad tooth that is abscessed with the other two drugs? ## @John, If there's really a bacterial infection present, then killing the infection with an antibiotic makes sense and will probably help alleviate pain that the infection was causing. As to the efficacy of Doxycycline being used for this purpose, I do think there may be better options on the market. However I haven't come across any details suggesting not to take that particular drug combination of Lisinopril, Bupropion and Doxycycline. A...

I have a toothache due to a bad root canal resulting in infection. They gave me antibiotics, 800mg of Ibprofen and 500mg of tylenol ( they only work when i combine them together and wear off in about 3 hours or less). My pain level is really high, and today I woke up with a bubble on each side of my tooth. Is this normal? ## The bubbles are probably due to an abscessed infection and if so, then you should contact the dentist, again. You might need a stronger antibiotic, or the teeth may need to be extracted. Are there any other questions? ## I recommend you go back to your dentist asap. You seem to have an infection some where. Drink plenty of fluids and take antibiotics to remove infection. toothachepainreliefsite.org

I have an abscess tooth will this medication work for this or is it used for a abscess tooth? Sulfameth/trimethoprim 800/160 tabs ## Sulfamethoxazole with Trimethoprim is an antibiotic, it's a generic for Bactrim, so it may help with the infection that causes an abscess, but that will only be a temporary fix. When you have an abscessed tooth, there has to be an underlying cause, such as a cavity and this will not fix that, so you will still need to see a dentist, or it will just eventually return. And since this a sulfa based antibiotic, which you can learn more Bactrim usage details on here, it may cause some side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. It can also cause an allergic reaction in some people, which may manifest as a fever, hives and d...

I,m already prescribed tramadol for pain is it helpful for toothache? ## Hi Dot, Based on my research, Tramadol can be a feasible treatment option for pain associated with toothaches. Although certain over-the-counter meds such as ibuprofen are usually considered first line treatment options, it seems to be quite common for dentists to prescribe Tramadol in and of itself, or in combination with something like ibuprofen for serious tooth pain. You may also want to talk with your doctor or dentist about using an antibiotic (e.g. clove essential oil) to help fight the infection as well. I hope this helps!

NDC 00185-0022 Thus, I have to agree with Janice, you need to see a dentist to have this fixed, if you are in that much pain, it is most likely due to an infection, which will require a round of antibiotics to treat, then the repair or extraction of the tooth. What medications were you prescribed? How long have you been on the antibiotic? If it's working, you should start to feel an improvement after 3 days being on them, which will improve the pain. The antibiotic may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. ## Hydrocodon and clindamycin.
