Pain Meds And Their Equals
(Newest replies first)

Updated

My insurance company did not give me a choice recently so my dr. & I had to make different optons for my PM. I was on: Oxycotin CR 60 mg. twice a day along with ~ up to 4 percecot daily, which was: 10/325 mg.

Now, I've had to change to: Taking 3 Morphine Sul ER 30 mgs. with still taking up to 4 percecot daily.

How does this compare? I'm still having more pain with this newly issue. Should I be taking a stronger mg of the Morphinr Sul. I thought this was a much weaker strength than the Oxycotin cr.

Can you explain this to me? Thank you in advance, Eva

I'm taking Oxycodone Acetaminophen 10/135 every 6 hours.
I feel sleepy; does this prescription makes me sleepy or its something else?
The pain does not go away but helps a little. If I'd take 5 or 6 a day, would be dangerous? I heard that may damage the liver taking too many. Would 5 or 6 be too many?
Thank you!

I did research RE:PERCOCET & the generic ones. If as it stated there's one that does NOTcontain any aspirin and the regular percocet does, why don't drs. just write for the percocet & ave our liver from possible damage?

Doesn't that make more sense? Or is there a reason drs. don't write for this? Thanks, Eva

Hello, Eva! How are you? I'm so very sorry that you're in pain.

Oxycodone is one and a half times stronger than Morphine, so you'd need 90mgs of it to equal each 60mgs you were taking of the Oxycontin, which means you're only taking half as much as you need daily to achieve equivalent pain relief.

This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Is there anything else I can help with?
