I've had the same reaction.. If I sleep at all its usually at 6am and I need to get up at 6:45am.. So wtf is the point..ty though I couldn't figure out y I couldn't sleep..and depression omg I've not left the house in over 1 month..not at all!!

I am sorry to disagree with you on your comment, but I'm on the suboxone program and they test me for EVERYTHING that is a controlled substance, including lyrica. At first it was just a test for things like cocaine and heroin, but the DEA has made new rules for testing. This is New York, maybe it's different in your state, but unfortunately, not mine.

I started lyrica aound the 2nd week of September for fibromyalgia nerve pain. My pain was down the back of my head and down my back , it felt like pins ad needles. When I started lyrica, the pain got much better. But now by the 2nd week of December, I have gained 20 pounds, hot flashes - sweating badly, ademia in legs, face, hands. My low lumbar back pain is much worse. Short term memory loss, difficulty with concentration. But the worse think is I've had a large rash and itching like crazy around lower back and hips down into inner leg area. I was on 200mg per day. I went to dermatologist doc about rash. He said he thought it was lyrica. I was not convinced since I've been on lyrica since 2nd week of September. I was on lyrica for a month before rash started. So I'm stepping down off this medicine to see if rash goes away. I've tried many different cream and meds suggested by dermatologist, that's not worked so I feel this is the best course for me to see if lyrica is causing it. Has anyone else had terrible rashes with lyrica?

Lyrica stays in the system for 48 hours that's why the withdrawals last for so long.

I have had FMS for 28 years. I just got a prescription for Lyrica. I have taken it for less then a full week. I have had weakness all over my body and fell on the 4th day. Have been unable to sleep, I was in water therapy on the second appointment I was shaking so badly they took me out of the pool.
I have issues with sleep and have bizzar figures in my sleep that will continue after I wake up if my eyes are closed. I have no intention of taking it again. The results are too great. I just want it out of my system for good.

Hey Miguel, one alternative to lyrica (pregablin) is neurontin (gabapentin). It is prescribed for alot of the same reasons, its chemical compounds are quite similar, only its not a controlled substance, and is not as strong. I have been on neurontin now for two years after deciding to stop the lyrica. It also helped with the withdrawal. It may be an alternative for you to discuss with your doctor to weigh the pros and cons. It definitely worked for me. Good luck to you, I hope things work out! :)

Was on Lyrica for only 3 months 75mg twice a day. sometimes I would have so much confusion I couldn't think clearly but I tried to stay on the med. until I ran into some rather unexpected insurance hang ups. I slowly backed off the med. but for last 48 hours I have had trouble sleeping and the confusion didn't seam to go away right away. I was fixated on strange things. I even felt depressed during that time. This after noon I almost feel like my old self hope it says this way.

I completely agree. I've been off 450mg of Lyrica for RLS and leg pain for about 3yrs. Within the last year, I've developed chronic hives and stopped the med. been off it for a month, can't sleep, have bad anxiety but do not wanna be on benzos. The hives drive me crazy

I've only been taking it for a little over a week. My vision has gotten so bad I can't see anything smaller the three inches high. I look like I'm half plowed when I walk and I can only take small steps; Which is really bizarre. I had problems sleeping, which is badly needed with FM and neuropathy. I called my doctors office and told them after a little over a week I was done! So now I get to start coming off 300 mg a day. Not a problem, I've gone off narcotic pain Meds many times after 28 years of FM. Notice no longer an S anymore. FM is no longer a Syndrome!

Tryed cutting down notice restless at night up every hour, always depressed thought would help with my back surgery , but no luck taking perkocet for that. Would love to gdt ogg Lyrica but im afraid.

can I stop from 60 mgs to not taking I have already dropped from 75mgs to the 60mgs. Do I have to taper off again and if so what dosage would I go down too. thank you

I am on Lyrica 1 year for panick attack and depression. 6 months ago I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. Is it possible I got Fibro from taking Lyrica? Does anybody else have these experience?

You wouldn't have gotten fibro from Lyrica. Lyrics is actually one of the best medicines around to treat fibro. I've had fibro for a couple years and nothing worked until Lyrica. Just knew, the next steps in treating fibro with lyrics is in combination with cymbalta. Please hear my warning with this though. The combination caused my liver to produce horrible results when tested. They actually began talking about a transplant. And the diarrhea got so bad they wanted to test for crohn's decease. Once the cymbalta speed, so did the side affects. Just the heads up, the 2 medicines do not mix well. At any rate, Lyrica was not the cause. It is possible though that your pain receptors are sensitive, more than normal because of the Lyrica. I don't know what you're taking, but I take 225mg twice a day. World's for me.

I am so sorry about your situation Cindie. Also I am shocked because just like you. I got prescribed cymbalta. Needles to say my Dr. knew I am allergic on all anti depressants, he pushed me to try cymbalta. The experience was horrible. First I thought I got blind, extreme diarrhea and going to bathroom I hit my head on the walls numerous times, even fall. If cymbalta would work for me, I would be in same situation like you. I am taking 150mg twice a day and hydrocodone for my scoliosis pain and also clonopin for anxiety. It is that I just don't believe coincidences, and after only 6 months taking lyrica my life went to hell. Do you wake up 2-3am and can not sleep from restless legs and pain? I have no idea what to do. Thank you for your response I really don't have nobody to talk about this.

Thank you Mirah for your suggestion. I seen my doctor and he is definitely sure it is not Lyme disease. He is not sure about anything so he referred me to Pain management which they refused to treat me. There is nothing they can do with my diagnoses. Pain is getting worse and at this time a I am very much hoping I will not wake up anymore. Thanks again.

Hi. My doctor prescribed me Lyrica 75mg. My side effect from this pill which was taken last night was horrible! I went to sleep then ended up waking up through the night thinking I'm dying, then woke up this morning with severe I mean severe dizziness. My room was spinning and I couldn't get up. I thought I might fall which I did, right into the wall, then 4 hrs later had energy shoot from out of no where. Too much energy! But having that feeling for a while is not worth the feelings you have before... Love the energy and it really helped with my pain. I also take pain pills. Will just stick with them. They don't make me feel like I am dying and having crazy dreams.

I have weaned from 400mg daily to 100 mg daily. If I were to stop completely it would be maximum 72 hours (3days) and it would out of my system.
