How Can I Get Subutex Not Suboxone? (Page 13)

Updated

I don't know how to go about this as I am shaking and can barely focus, I need help! Please. I fear that my life is going to end from my abuse of opiates. I am currently taking 250 mgs of oxycontin per day. I have a loving fiance and a stepdaughter that I want to be here for. I sit here with cold sweats, and fear going out just because I may make the fearful turn to the meds. Any and all info on how to obtain Subutex would be much appreciated. This wasn't what I wanted my life to be, and I can not let it end this way..Please help me. I am not a religious man but I pray for help as I am at my wits end with this drug.

I'm suprised you haven't typed in on your computer"look for suboxone doctors".its that damn easy.I've been on program for awhile now and it can help you immediately.I'm currently switching doctors and that's easy too.by the way,any doctor prescribing suboxone can prescribe subutex.I had a doctor who wouldn't believe I had bad reactions with suboxone vs. subutex.he finally found out I was right by looking on the net.subutex at costco is 4times cheaper than the strips.do this right now.you will get help Monday,I can almost guarantee you.you waited too damn long.it also helps if you can get someone to help you set-up the appointment or just be there while you are.its good,a little emotional support,if you can get it.if not ,just read this post I'm sending you.relax take a couple of deep breaths-in-out - in out- in- out.......piece of cake. ***** Good Luck!!!!!

GOOFY: Yep. I have told several people on here to do that. Suboxone.com, and you just put in your zip code. TONS of doctors out there. Apparently though, some people on here are saying they are having a hard time getting Subutex vs. Suboxone. I never did. I already suffered from documented migraines and chronic nausea since before I had bupe, so it wasn't a problem. The whole week that I was on Suboxone, I felt like I was on the edge of hurling the entire time. But maybe it's a state thing, not being able to get Subutex anymore. It wasn't a problem in my state. I have not researched this since I am taking methadone tabs instead of bupe now. But yes, it is really just that easy.

MISTY: Read what I told "CONCERNED" below. You are either going to have to go to the ER and get some sort of documentation that the Suboxone makes you sick, or you are going to have to go on Suboxone.com and call every doctor on there until you find one that will help you. Explain that you just plain cannot function on Suboxone because of the symptoms it gives you. Or you MAY have to drive to another state. Good luck.

THE ONLY WAY I HEAR U CAN GET THAT IS BY HAVING A NOTE FROM ANOTHER DR SAYING U R ELERGICK TO IT.

It does not break the cycle but what is so scary is if you're getting older and I've been on methadone for many years since the seventies, off and on. I've kept on it many times. It's the hardest drug I've ever had to get off. Much harder than the opiates that got me there but Suboxone that is some bulls*** right there, it does nothing for me and it does not help the pain in my older age. I have recently had my fourth knee replacement and getting ready to have 3 disc put back in that have slipped out of my back. I have to have minimal medication and not be on anything of that sort for that kind of surgery. I've already had several incidences since the surgery because of opiate blockage. It is harder if it it's like a torture chamber so my best advice is try to stay away from those two things methadone and Suboxone, any opiate blockers period. You can always go by the 24-hour Weisman detox method. If you got the 20 grand which most of us do not. The whole thing is we get older we get paid we have wrecked her body with opiates and doing things we would never done if we weren't so high. If you can tell me a better way than just detoxing yourself down very slowly and using your strong mind and your strong will it's called getting sick and tired of being sick and tired and you can use minimal pain medication for your pain but as far as trying to keep you off of addiction it's in my DNA all my family are addicts way back. I know I'll always be an addict but I'm at a point to where I can grow it control it to a bare minimum. I'm not saying I get out much I'm not saying my mind works as good as it does when I'm high actually it works better when I'm high because detoxing and being straight after being high for so many years it's like wow I'm losing it but it comes back leaving me I have kicked methadone after being on it for 7 years at a time three times on the county jail floor. I have never needed 6-month inpatient except when I went to prison and yeah they got me sober. I didn't do drugs in prison. I wanted to go home. But there are more drugs in prison than there are on the streets so that was an accomplishment. Just take it one day at a time. Gets sick and tired of being sick and tired and do something about it. Medical marijuana in Colorado does the trick pretty good. Anyway you get to an age and just catches up with you and good luck on your journey, you're going to have a hard one. I could write a book about my hard ones. Almost didn't live through many many times. God's got my back for some reason. I have a mission on this Earth and I will fulfill it.

Ron, I highly doubt you are taking 750mg of methadone, there is not a place in the u.s that would give u that and most likely would kill you. I've never heard of anyone getting a daily dose of more than 200 mg and those are people who have been on it for years. Nobody will help you because you are not being truthful or you are very uninformed. To to a detox or rehab and be truthful

CHER: I am sorry to hear that Subutex/Suboxone did not work for you. It is nothing short of a miracle drug for many people, and is just so-so for others (like me). We are all different, but Suboxone does work for many people, and so does methadone. I am on tablet methadone, and have been able to lower my dose by 10 mgs so far, by decreasing very gradually. I would rather do it this way than to go through another cold turkey detox from my drug of choice. It is working for me and I am happy. Am planning on going down another 5 mgs. in about a week. With the help of Colo MMJ and the occasional Soma or Clonidine, I have been successful so far and have not had to "go back up" to my previous dose. Good luck to you.

NICOFENCE: I don't care how much of an opioid tolerance someone has, there is no way a person is going to be on 750 mgs of methadone. Not possible. You would be dead. Back when they occasionally gave cancer patients methadone, the MOST would be 250 to 300mgs. And we are talking horrific conditions like terminal bone cancer. I am a 30 year+ opioid addict, and the MOST I was ever on was 150 mgs for about a month. And I was nodding out loaded the whole time and had to reduce my dose to about 110 mgs. I am currently on 85 mgs of tablet methadone, having gone down from 95 mgs. Possibly a typo?

MISSCRYSTALHEROLD: I know this is old, but I am wondering if you were able to get on Suboxone. And when I switched over, I was on around 65mgs. So I certainly don't think it is necessary to get down to 30mgs. But what IS necessary is to be in real, full-on withdrawal first, or you will be in TROUBLE. Precipitated withdrawals, aka HELL. Anyway, I hope it all worked out for you.

AMANDA: You are most likely having a bad reaction to the Naloxone in the Suboxone, which isn't in the Subutex. The whole time I was on Bupe, I had to take Subutex, as the Naloxone made my already chronic nausea and migraine problems much worse. Fortunately here in Colorado, they haven't made the changes between Subutex/Suboxone that has happened other places. I am back on tablet methadone anyway, which works better for my addiction.

You are not alone.. I have been a addict for almost 12 years.. Because when my son was born he broke my pelvic bone.. The doctor perscibed me oxy 30's 6 a day for almost 6 years. I was hooked the first week.. I didn't relise how bad it was and I did things to get that pill that I would never do today.. If you are not a addict you will not understand... I wish you the best of luck.. I was on Soboxene but found it was worse then what i was on for opiods..... So I am in the process of getting the vivital shot... good luck

Well damnit man lol...i hear of all these other states just handing subutex out to anyone but it's become so much more strict here in tennessee. I'm just looking for a doc that hep c is a legit reason to be prescribed subutex because as you said I am def having allergic reactions to that naloxone. I've had awful migrants growing up and anyone in my family could vouch that since a child I would get migrants to were the earth would be spinning and anything I ate or drink would come back up. I've had Kat scans but it's just a genetic thing that runs on my mother's side and trying to take naloxone isn't helping me at all in more than just one symptom. I know of individuals here in middle tenn that drive to the tip of Georgia and Kentucky just to get subutex and I also have a friend that is going to a doc I believe in east tenn near knox (where I'm originally from anyway) that says there is a doc that will prescribe tex to people with documents via doc that are hep c positive, but she won't freely give me the info to the doc because so many people have burned her that get jealous or upset that she can get them so she is very careful with her doc info as I guess I would be too. Just wish this wasn't such a headache trying to obtain (pun very intended). It's just driving me nutssss!

AMANDA: Can you get documentation from your doctor that you are a migraine sufferer and that the Naloxone is making them worse? That is probably the only way you will still be able to get Subutex.

Yeah I can most def get migraine documentation. I've also been deaf in my right ear, well 80% deaf and so it gives me vertigo which also in turn gives me migraines.

AMANDA: That is probably your only shot. Maybe head to the ER with a "blinding migraine" and get that paperwork. You know what I'm saying. It may be the only way.

There are doctors that are specifically licensed to prescribe subutex and/or suboxone (same basic ingredient - buprenorphine - which eliminates withdrawal symptoms.

Any doctor can take a one day course to be cleared to prescribe the stuff. And it's gotten easier over the past couple of years to get prescriptions since initially a doctor could only prescribe to 10 patients at a time. Last I heard it was raised to 100 patients...it might be more now (even possible it's unlimited).

Just use Google and do a search for a doctor that prescribes subutex or suboxone or buprenorphine (whichever gets the best search results for you).

It shouldn't be hard - I'm surprised to read that people find it difficult. Maybe it's a state by state thing...really don't know. I was getting it in Florida and I found a psychiatrist that prescribed it. I recently moved to Nevada - just in time since my insurance didn't cover the drug (in Florida) and the shrink was upping his charge (also not covered by my insurance) from $75 a visit to $175. I got to Nevada and needed to find a doctor. Took me a few seconds using Google to find an internist (family practice doctor) that my insurance pays for with a $10 co-pay. The insurance also covers the prescriptions which runs me $45 a month. (forgot the mention - the insurance DID cover the Rx in Florida, just not the doctor's visits). Before I had insurance, the Subutex was something like $150 for a months supply (8mg a day).

Best of luck - the stuff is truly a miracle drug and won't suck up all your money. I was paying $55 a pill for 80mg Oxycontin and that left me broke - the "bupe" literally saved my life.

What if you are a person, like myself, who has never taken illicit drugs or abused an opiate tablet, and has been on suboxone for over 5 years and just do not feel the same benefit/efficacy from it any longer? I have wanted to try subutex for a few years now. Also, since being on Medicaid, I am no longer able to take the generic tablet, which I definitely preferred to the film which I now have to take. I asked my subox doc (who I had for 5 years) about switching to, or at least trying the subutex, and he lightheartedly told me No. I take my recovery pretty damn seriously, have regular therapy, and take a few other medications to treat my depression and anxiety diagnoses. I am not looking to throw away my almost 6 years of being full-agonist opioid free so I can get subutex to misuse it and experiment with things I've never done before and at almost 46 years old, getting too old to even consider such sickness. Why is it that I should not be given an opportunity to try subutex when I am not at all at the risk of doing inappropriate things with this medication and it may be just what I need to feel more comfortable in my sobriety as I did before?

DANI....you say that you have NEVER abused any type of opioid, ever.. So how is it that you have had this medication for so long? Just curious.... Thanks HOUSE!!
