Dang! Thanks for all that great info P! Surely some folks on here will benefit from your hard work in finding those docs! I know how time consuming researching PM Dr's can be and then listing all that info! Thanks! ??????

I attempted for the guy in Pennsylvania and found 2 physicians in NY who have over 88 reviews with the same address. They also do appointments online. I did not check out where in NY but clearly they are popular and are still writing. Here is the female:

Posters,

As a professional nurse it is important to be sincere when you meet a new physician, try not when making the appointment to ask if they do medication management for during this FDA joke they are a bit paranoid, and further if you have prescriptions and a record that you have been on them for over a year without major changes MOST will want the success of controlling your pain on what works.

There are people who post here who act as if they know. I personally due to a work injury as a professional nurse have been on opioids LA and BT since my injury and catastrophic causing me a slew of structural disorders and the other disorders such as systemic RSD, FM, DDD end stage ok...I outlived Dr. H after 10 years, and then Dr. Famous in California the best in America booted 30 out of state patients off his cliff because Jerry Brown is running California like Odumma runs America.

There are people here who are addicts and ugly to those who are not ok. They are not who you seek support from they are attempting to harm you because they cannot hook up with a PM. As a professional nurse and pain advocate as well as published scholarly researcher I can tell you more about what physicians think then you need to know.

They are human. Like us they have loved ones and do not want to go to jail. Being a PM causes HUGE malpractice insurance rates and they always have the DEA to answer to. They may have had loved ones suffer as we do, they are empathetic. Some do love $$$ in fact the one who is seeing me does not take Medicare and even my WC award which is 100% I will submit for and will hand him cash on my first meeting. He will take a check but I will bring cash the first time. Be prepared. Be polite. Do not get hysterical or treat your next physician badly because perhaps your last one booted your ass out the door.

Don't use any medication that should not be in your system. If you do and are then you are not a pain client you are an addict and that disease is very serious, you need a shrink for this and a therapist perhaps a treatment program. Don't blame the physician for what you did wrong or what others did to you ok. Try to dress in a business like manner regardless of the pain. Ladies a spot of lipstick, eye makeup and some courage and strength when you face that new doctor. Men even if you do labor for your job you have a pair of nice slacks and sports shirt to wear when you make that first visit. Listen to what they say, and always weigh certain options.

For most procedures will cause more damage. Always politely ask 'can you assure me Doctor that this inj. will not cause more scar tissue or pain.' If he can will he put this in writing? He will not...

Tread lightly just carry a big stick.

Sandy,

Although the DEA just hit your state even GP's write.

Try Tennessee Pain Clinic, they have 4 physicians who all write and yes it's in your state.

Tell me what happens.

Jake,

There is a clinic just south of Roanoke where there were 2 physicians, one retired. I posted it on one post awhile ago. Virginia is a hell hole. Anyhow from what I hear they write liberally there. One must travel if they want pain management but now some of us who are rare like I am are told we can't be seen in California for our high opioid therapy because we are out of state. Funny in California the homeless rule the streets, they won't even take $5 if offered, they tell you they cannot buy a roll of toilet paper for that but legitimate people cannot get treated.

Hold on checking my paperwork on that clinic.

He may be retired but he has a partner still there and they may even have another office around Charlottesville, keep me posted wish you luck my new friend.

it is so so hard to find a doctor that take my pain serious. I have been hit by a car as a pedestrian and have severe nerve damage and ive also had muiltible surgerys. i finally found a doctor that did help me control my pain but he retired back in dec 2014 and i havent found anyone that will take my treatment serious. I live in the southwest of virginia and ive already checked out most doctors around here and they want to treat a person like a junky so i am very close to Tenn, North Carolina and west virginia if anyone can point me in the right dirction I would be extremly greatful.

K,

Unfortunately my credentials are well known as I've personally referred worldwide in written referrals over 10,000 intractable pain clients who were suicidal. That is why this is so relevant you may not have read my story on various posts nor does it matter to me. I am a professional nurse, regulatory expert well known for cleaning up shut down facilities that do not meet standards, advocate and published psychiatric researcher.

Central Pain Syndrome is the end of the road the pain literally has now imprinted the brain leading to the brain constantly misfiring nonstop autonomic and visceral pain; makes my systemic RSD look like kid's stuff.

Chris and SH use the site, it may get you a younger, newer physician who is eager to get a good book of patients going; this doctor had wonderful office staff--she told me he does not like to write Soma, Oxy contin or codone, Xanax and another and asked me what I am normally on which did not seem a problem. To literally have someone admit to prescribing is amazing it's utter fkig regression to the good old days. They do not do Medicare so I told them I've got my 100% medical comp award so if he did not mind me giving cash just give me a receipt with the date of injury and I use a pharmacy out of state that ships and drops overnight to me. That is because seeing the California doctor could not be filled in Texas. He is reasonable in price and on this site had over 90 patients with positive responses. He is clean on the Texas Medical Board. $250 first visit only $100 for medication visits and if he does injections which I am long past doing only $100 to $150. Most office staff are very rude in Texas as of late and it is unfortunate but when you make a good contact grab their name and did so.

The site is 'patientfusion' and as I mentioned you can literally make appointments with many of the physicians on the site and get copies of your medical records if the physicians use the service. It provides free appointment scheduling although with my set up it denied so I called anyone with 90 reviews 100% of which would refer the physician to others is worth the call. He is a good age only 39 and only 4 years into doing doctor of pain. So he is new painers and believe if I hold my own my complexity will not frighten him too much.

Everyone knows that Odumma has hurt us all, in this regard government should not be dictating physician practice and actions and it is.

Jay just read your post hang in there dear brother. I am praying for you. Hold on, let your wife sustain you and do not let anger derail you brother.

That's FABU news! Just don't let the Dr know how much more intelligent you are than his whole staff put together. Show your vulnerable side. Men like that kinda thing. Damsel in distress.

Posters,

Say a prayer it looks like they have not killed P450 yet. On Thursday I have an appointment with a real physician, who will I am told write what I have been written directly from my last prescriptions. Yes after 10 months I have the boxes, with patches brand of course due to my allergies, in them because Dr. Famous had us put aside a percentage per month I am alive.

I used the site I pointed out to ya'll a few days ago there are both newer doctors on there and you can make appointments literally for many on the site, and some other physicians who might need business.

We had heavy flooding Saturday so I rescheduled an appointment with what concerned me as a potential storefront. Everyone knows I can die from Central Pain but also will die unless the pain is medicated at this time. It was so bad roads were closed so I booked out.

In the interim this other physician who I personally checked up on is seeing me this week, and I wanted everyone to know do not give up. This situation in America will change, we researched and proved in the late 80's that opioids for intractable pain are the safest long term treatment with lower side effects. What we experience as physical tolerance over time means medications would be upped the fear now due to the FDA push has many doctors running from their work. Sad to see.

Don't give up, I nearly did and I won't do it, nor should you.

Pain management drs aren't hurting for patients. The vast majority of them are going by the FDA Guidelines of 120 mg Morphine/Morphine Equivalent Daily. They aren't going to accept a new patient that is taking the FDA Guidelines or more if they adhere to it in their practice. Most drs also won't take a new patient that has a failed drug panel because they want patients that will go by their rules. It doesn't matter how long a patient went without breaking the rules. The vast majority of drs want patients that won't break the rules period. It is possible someone may find a dr that isn't strict, but those drs are few and very far between.

To BL~(Angela TOO) BL, You are not telling me anything I don't already know, but I will say that not all Doctors HAVE to do it their way. Perhaps looking at your records, they wanted to try something different. I am on 10/325 percocet which I have been for years. the three times I have moved (out of State) the doctors were all very appreciative of the records I brought them as I keep all my records. Don't count on the i**** people in the offices to send the right info or even YOUR info (LOL!! I highly suggest that everyone get copies of each visit (if not that day, a few days later when it is completed) or get your full records before going to your next doctor. ANGELA, do not let BL discourage you by saying that you have to accept that Doctors will not write high dosages if you were on them. Maybe she had a problem, but everyone is different!! They did for me because I had all my records & they were open-minded enough to study them. It's always easier to say no to a patient & I have very little respect for those Doctors, especially if you bring them in all your records & have religiously gone to pain management every month. The only thing that disturbs me about these clinics are the low-lifes that work in the office treating EVERYONE like they are addicts. They need to be put in their place. Remember, if the Doctors-not their managers do not like them or they are responsible, You must report them to your Doctor & I have actually had a few FIRED as they deserved to be. If the Doctor wants to start you on a lower dose, play his game & take it, but if it is NOT working, make sure you tell him & let him know you are upset with him & that was WHY you brought in your records. Remember, if he thinks he will loose your business, he will think twice, especially if it is a pain clinic where you go every month! Pain clinics are just that~to control your pain & if the doc isn't doing his job-the power is in YOUR hands. Let him know he is NOT controlling your pain & you came to him for help & if he isn't willing, especially with all the progress shown in your records, that you will go elsewhere. He is NOT the only doc out there-he also can be reported for not helping you. What State are you in ANGELA??

To Jay,

I was on long acting meds 15 yrs and have no Dr since June. I know my part. I had a Dr for 5 yrs that had me on methadone, then added Fentanyl and norco for break thru. I kept seeing surgeons and having 2 fusions with resulting FBS. Then got a spinal cord stimulator with no help. Then I was dumb and left her for a pump. Disaster, got temporary hallucinations and took med from former Dr. So I have one bad urine in 15 yrs but released of course. Got pump out, too long a story. Went to a Dr 3 months and broke ankle, she just refilled dose of meds surgeon gave me. I was on a lower dose of Fentanyl and oxycodone for break thru. I self discharged from her to a recommended pm Dr. Dr 4-5. He had a little practice with 1 secretary . She despised me and said I called too much about meds. He was generous with meds, up my Fentanyl and every 2 days. Saw him 3 times. Last visit I asked for a change cause tolerant to patches. He put me on 120 mg morphine plus oxycodone. Released due to secretary saying I made excessive calls and he felt he couldn't meet my needs. I did call and at times she picked up and slammed phone down Hung up!! I tried to get in the methadone clinic. Said No you need pain management. Went thru all stages to get it. Well, I have been turned down by about 10pm Drs. So, at last I have a consult with a pm Dr that charges monthly for the script. A month away. Been to er 9 times Drs. Say can't help.

kay, pain drs need a copy of your medical records for medical prood that you have a condition that indicates the need for pain meds. A new dr may or may not keep you on the same meds you have been on. If a patient is on a high dose of pain meds and/or takes certain other meds for anxiety or muscle spasms it is doubtful that a new dr will continue them.
