My doctor said I had a positive urine for heroin but I don't do it. He gave me 60mg morphine sulfate for long term and oxycodone 15s. Also, is the morphine sulfate causing the test to be false positive?

Will the results of a medical urinalysis (7-9 panel toxicology 1 week lab protocals for results) differentiate between use of Heroin [low to mediocre dose) in combination with either simultaneous or substitutional use of MS-Contin (Rx Long-Acting Morphine) minimum dose 30mg / max dose 150 mg daily, upon final analysis? Will the breakdown of each substance show up as the same morphine byproduct or will they appear in separate categories?

Yes I saw the same Dr for over 6 years and they discharged me for testing positive for heroin. I've never even seen the drug in all my life! They put me on 60mg 3x's a day & 15mg oxycodone 4x's a day. Ive had almost 20 surgeries all over my body! I see my regular Dr now for everything & there's no way I would go back to pain management! They treated me like a drug addict when they turned me into one!!

Yes I in fact am on MS contin as well from the PA pain clinic.. And I went threw the same type of ordeal at today's appointment... I've been going there for over a year now.. And I've never had a problem.. Till this new PA came around I seen today.. And all of sudden.. Heroin and codeine came up on my swab test results.. So they void my narcotic contract.. And cut me off my pain meds!...just that fast!...Something isn't right.. These PA's play as doctors and don't know crap!..any person that practices medical.. Should at least know about the meds that they hand out to pop.. And what's in the meds!!!...MAINLY WHEN DRUG TESTS ARE INVOLVED!

THANK YOU... I am one of those true followers of my prescription. Over the past year I have been subject to reductions in my prescription which makes the quality of my life unduly harsh. I have researched the law and there is one that sits on the books in California. Unfortunately when I have suggested a rally point to people they get frightened and so I am feeling very alone in this fight. I will not however give up On making a stance with this issue.

hi I have been following these kinds of messages for a long time now and there seems to be a witchhunt going on with those people that use opioids. The fact that people will not re-test you or take a hair sample which would really reveal a lot is confounding to me. I believe it’s political and is Money motivated so we need to kind of Bradley you guys. A lot of us that are true to our prescriptions are being unduly sought after and punish seemingly. I would urge you to research laws and legislature regarding this now because it has taken a huge turn in the last year. It pains me to see all of these posts. Believe me I’ve done my homework and have concluded that this is nothing more then like I said a political witchhunt motivated by money.

Just have him get the u-pass urine from a smoke shop and add a tiny bit of the prescribed med in it, then follow directions to warm it. Doctor's offices don't watch u pee.

Took a urine test to screen for my opiate 6 mos check up... It's 30 mg morphine Ms contin time released. My results showed a trace amount of heroin which I do not use and never have.. Is it possible for my morphine to matabalize into heroin on a test result. Asked my Dr if that was possible he said no and won't let me retest. He is referring me to addiction classes and it's now on my record...

I live in England, and drug tests when taking heroin always just came back as ''Morphine detected''. When I said to the nurse ''Bloody hell...I thought it was heroin we were taking'' she said ''The tests don't show up as ''diamorphine''. However..the local police do tests on seized batches, and it was coming back as higher quality heroin than usual.

OMG thank you...i did google the heroin metabolites and it went on further to say something about 6 acetylmorphine. they said that this is the way that they detect or confirm that a person has used specifically heroin. otherwise yeah heroin just breaks down to morphines and codeine. do you know if agencies like child protective services uses a test that would break the test down that far

I am taking norco, xanax, gabapentin, methocarbamol, celecoxib and fluoxetine. I was drug tested and it came back that I had morphine and heroin in my system.... Can any or all of my meds cause this? I do not take anything other than what's prescribed.

6 yrs ago a friend of a friend was cut off after being on strong pain killers cuz he had a dirty urine. ..I thought 2 that they had to at lease wein u off cuz if the detoxin, but that's not true cuz others drugs cld cause an overdose an or death so its they call 2 cut u off.

I have a morphine pump and also take oxycodone for break thru pain along with xanax for anxiety and tested positive for heroin on an oral swab (when he did it, it did not complete the sign when done but he took it anyway) which I have never done or been around. My Dr believes me and it would break my heart to leave his care. He had to stop prescribing my Xanax which will cause me alot of problems. If there is an issue with these drug tests, they need to stop them and so ones that are correct. I could lose all my pain control and everything and be in severe pain due to faulty tests.

I went to pain management and they went over my drug test it came back positive for heroin never used in my life oxycodone and ms cotton morphine I offered a hair sample and another urine test and blood they wouldn't do it so they took all of medication away from me I was totally shocked what do I do now

My reply here is meant for #4 to #14 about the way Heroine, Morphine, Tylenol, and an expensive Opiate, Oxycontin, show up on a urine test as. I believe a little more info on the subject is needed as it is a bit confusing. :)! So! Here we go:
Heroine and Morphine are 2 of the strongest medications that are made directly from the actual plant, the poppy. once metabolized, it is next to impossible to distinguish between the two medications in your system. most of the natural directives like Tylenol 3 one of the least strong, and the intermediates like Percoset are like that. But here is another misnomer. What shows up on most drug tests that I am familiar with, the 4-6 panel, is the medication name or type like, Opiate, Benzo, Amphetamines etc, not the illegal drug! So, on mine it was Morphine or Tylenol that I was positive for. And it does not pop positive on a specific name, on most panels, but on a group, IE: Opiate class A- then a blue line next to it, class A would include Morphine, Percoset, Tylenol, Heroin. Then next to it would be Opiate class B- then a line next to it, class be would be Vicodin, Fentanyl, Opana etc.... See what I mean? and that is like a 6 panel, 5 panel (I think) would just have OPIATE- and a blue line. It is a less specific, cheaper test and would only let you know if some kind of Opiate, natural or synthetic, was present. Anyway, hope this helps! Have a Great Test!

That is untrue, It's not illegal to cut a patient off without providing further medication. INHUMANE AND UNETHICAL BUT PERFECTLY LEGAL.I wish I had a dollar for everyone unceremoniously dismissed without an adequate alternative for care. Providers can legally justify it by claiming failure to comply with terms of their agreement,it's maddening to me.

To be completely honest with you there's nothing much you can do or take to mitigate an active substance administered less then 48 hours prior to testing.I believe by being real instead of feeding false hope is the kindest thing one can do so as at least you can be prepared and plead your case accordingly with the testing entity.
