Watson Lortab Formula Change (Page 5)

Does anyone know what Watson did or why they changed their formula for Lortab 10/500? It used to be blue and when I picked up my refill today they are now white. I still have a few days of my blue left but I swapped a few so I can try the white. I'm waiting for it to start working and I took it over 2 hours ago. My rx is 1-2 every 3 hours not to exceed 7 in a day. (my pm dr wants me on a stronger med but anything above hydrocodone makes me euphoric and I can't function) The blue color lortab starts to work within 15 mins. I took my first white color lortab 2 hours ago, waited an hour and took the 2nd and nothing. I will wait 30 mins longer and switch back to the blue until I run out. This sucks. I'm a full time law student, disabled, single mom and can't use my dominate arm because the pain level is too high. (My shoulder dislocates every time I move my arm, even after 3 surgeries the last one being a bone transplant to the shoulder.) Sorry about any typos, I am typing with my left hand and don't have the coordination in this arm/hand that I do with my right. Thank you for any information that you can provide me.

What state do you live in? I talked to the health dept in florida who also told me yes schedule 3 drugs can have 3 refills! then why the F has this pain management people been telling me I HAVE TO BE SEEN MONTHLY FOR IT? how ridiculous i told them i have been starving for a year now cuz its either eat or go to my dr and if i dont go to dr i cant get out of bed so i have been not eating right for a year now. I do not know what to do beacuse ive been on the SAME 4 a day norco for 17 months now and since the watson bs they do NOT WORK AT ALL unless i take 7 a day cuz i have the crap amneal brand, its the only one they have and i tried other pharmacies they wont fill for me pos aholes make me SICK treat me like a junkie whne i have lost everything and about to be homeless. u wouldnt believe what social security did to me friday omg, evil mfers. they truly r sick and evil. i never heard of the 4 max per day prescriptions so thats great i was gonna tell me dr that i have built a tolerance, but last time i did that he just put me on 2 ms contin a day instead of 1, but i CANT EVER get them filled so i need the norco increased this is part of the reason i lost my job last year cuz nobody would fill the ms contin and my pain was unbearable. is it only primary care doctors who r allowed to give refills? i am sick over this, i contacted my old primary care who is the one who STARTED me on vicodin 4 years ago i saw him regularly every 3 months for 4 years, and he wont see me again to keep me on the norco. i asked and he said he wont prescribe me pain meds, LOL my pharmacist knows him and said hes been prescribing pain meds lately again and he told me to contact my old dr thats the only reason i askd i worked for the government for 5 years and i am sick that i have to go through this bs,. now the hell my pain dr put me through last month is a JOKE and ive heard its what they do to FIRE patients..so i am scared to death to go to my appt tomorrow cuz last month they put me through HELL lied about drug tests, the lab lied, etc..yet 2 weeks later i passed a drug test for a job LOL ridiculous. so how do i go about telling this dr that my meds are NOT WORKING and need stronger, or more per day. this dr never talks about my meds EVER hes been the dr for last 5 months and not once has he asked me about my meds, he just tried to decrease the norco and increase the ms contin without even talking to me about it. it is a nightmare. but i did get an at home job that i wont be able to do unless my meds are increased for sure. im suposed to start next week and i cant sit at my pc for more then an hour now so this job is 8 hours a day on it idk how its gonna happen, i have no choice but to take it cuz i will be homeless if i dont i may be thrown out anyway since my rent was due aug 1 and i am broke besides what i save d for my dr and meds.

The yellow watsons and the white watsons- the ones that are compressed are absolutely no good. It doesn't even help for a toothache let alone my back pain. I had the yellow ones 10/325 last month and I called the pharmacy to make sure those wouldn't be the ones I would be getting, so they say they are white 10/325 now. And guess what the whites are worse than the yellow. So now I have to suffer 30 days before another refill. Next time I will be calling every pharmacy beforehand to make sure I don't get either of those two. I have no tolerance issues and take them as prescribed.

the doctors are so afraid their gonna lose their license, and yes I certainly can tell a diff, dea I'm sure is attemping to withdraw American's off it, because it has become an epidemic, so thanks to the junkies we will have to suffer!

that is a lie because pharmacies wont tell you that info over the phone.

Rk.....what's a lie? Pharmacies won't tell you what over the phone??? The brand they are currently stocking? If that's what you were referring to, you are incorrect. They do and most certainly will. When my pharmacy switched to Watson 853 (white) I called several places to find Qualitest (yellow) before filling. Every place I called had no problem giving me the information!

one day i picked up my husband they were blue next day picked up mine they were white, they told me depends on the shipment. walgreens by my house been out the last 3 times sent me to another one of other stores. its all the same google it. they removing the blue dye because it makes people sick.its all in your head that blue work better than white. i feel no differant.

pharmacies will NOT tell you what kind or if they have narcotics they only tell you if YOU GO THERE in person!

I spoke to my pharmacist and they told me the reason WATSON hydrocodone 10/500 was changed is because "someone was putting in MORE than the 10 mg hydrocodone". I took the 10/500 from WATSON and got pain relief. Then they put me on the 10/500 by MALLINCKRO (that's what is on the bottle anyway. I need to agree with you, it is not the same. Pain is not relieved. Finally got changed to 10/325 today and anxious to see if it works better. Really don't want to go to anything stronger. I honestly think (and i told my pharmacist this) that whoever is making the white ones is not putting in the same amount of hydrocodone. Whether it is true or not, I don't know, BUT I highly doubt the omission of the dye is what is affecting the 'lack of pain relief". I STRONGLY AGREE that they have changed the formula and it is no longer effective, because too many of us on it, have noticed the difference in pain relief. I too, do not want to go on anything stronger at this point.

there is a big change in the hydrocodone pills with colors.they are not the same.believe me.I'VE been on hydrocodone generic for lortab 10/500 for more then 7 years.and all of a sudden,they all became white.and i am having alot of anxieties,and i feel like a crazy person,also,i feel i have to go to the bathrooms alots. i cant even go to work,or do any thing at home. cause of the changes in the medicines.

Actually the white are stronger. They've removed all dyes, which were taking away from the strength. The Watson 325\10 mg are white now too, not yellow. Also the dyes cause constipation.

Thats just a smokescreen, the tablets dont work as well, they say they want to limit tylenol but if you have to take 2 or more to get slight relief that whole theory is debunked. The truth is they have added ingredients to block the high feeling. If you complain they dont work what will they say? Drug Seeker! I am a relief seeker but it will get harder in the futre to relive pain. They know the hardcore addict will continue to try, but the runner with sprained ankle who gets 12 at a doc in box will say "those dont help much" thus never abuse them. Soccer mom with low back strain gets few, "i dont know why anyone would want those", instead of "oh god i never felt so good". That is what is really going on. If you think about it the truth is around any of us with chronic pain. The hydrocodone is blocked from binding to receptors. yet has the same ingredient. If I hear its all in my head again haha well you are either ignorant or dont have chronic pain, or you tow the company line. Maybe its a good thing that people dont like them anymore, who's to say? Of course there are suttle differences in the different pills but does anyone believe the pills are being redone to make them help your pain better? Dont pee on my leg and tell me it's raining.

CVS, BEL AIR, WALGREENS, RALEYS, RITE AID, AND MY LOCAL MOM 'N' POP PHARMACY ALL TOLD ME EXACTLY WHAT THEY WERE STOCKING AND FROM WHAT MANUFACTURER! AND YES THIS INFO WAS GIVEN TO ME OVER THE PHONE....NOT IN PERSON!!!!!!!!

ALSO, ONE WOULD BE PRETTY SILLY TO INQUIRE WHETHER A PHARMACY HAD "NARCOTICS" ON HAND IN GENERAL.....OF COURSE THEY DO....ITS A PHARMACY....LOL!!!!

IN BOTH MSGS I STATED VERY CLEARLY THAT I CALLED MULTIPLE PHARMACIES TO FIND OUT WHO HAD IN STOCK, MY RX MANUFACTURED BY QUALITEST!!! As I DID NOT WANT the new WHITE WATSON 853!

MY 2ND MSG GAVE THE NAME OF MULTIPLE PHARMS I CALLED, WHO GAVE ME THE BRAND THEY CARRIED (OVER THE PHONE) WITHOUT HESITATION!!! ALTHOUGH I LEFT OUT TARGET I BELIEVE!!! THE LOCATION OF THESE PHARMACIES ARE IN AUBURN, LOOMIS, ROCKLIN, AND ROSEVILLE, CA!!!! AFTER MULTIPLE PHONE CALLS, I FOUND THAT SAVEMART IN ROCKLIN CA ON PARK DR. CARRIES THE BRAND I WAS LOOKING FOR AS I GET THE BEST PAIN RELIEF FROM QUALITEST!!!!

SO....THERE YOU GO RK!!!. KNOCK YOURSELF OUT! Um.. Not to join the argument above.. But I have a question. I've been on hydrocodone 10/5 for years for migraines and disk issues (no clue what brand... But it's white and scored.. I think it's Watson).. Yesterday when I went to get it refilled (and they were out and was supposed to get a shipment) I was told they couldn't, because they weren't making them anymore at this time.. But they may restart!? Is this normal?
