Watson Lortab Formula Change (Page 4)

Does anyone know what Watson did or why they changed their formula for Lortab 10/500? It used to be blue and when I picked up my refill today they are now white. I still have a few days of my blue left but I swapped a few so I can try the white. I'm waiting for it to start working and I took it over 2 hours ago. My rx is 1-2 every 3 hours not to exceed 7 in a day. (my pm dr wants me on a stronger med but anything above hydrocodone makes me euphoric and I can't function) The blue color lortab starts to work within 15 mins. I took my first white color lortab 2 hours ago, waited an hour and took the 2nd and nothing. I will wait 30 mins longer and switch back to the blue until I run out. This sucks. I'm a full time law student, disabled, single mom and can't use my dominate arm because the pain level is too high. (My shoulder dislocates every time I move my arm, even after 3 surgeries the last one being a bone transplant to the shoulder.) Sorry about any typos, I am typing with my left hand and don't have the coordination in this arm/hand that I do with my right. Thank you for any information that you can provide me.

It isn't a II in all states. Not in California!! I am very lucky my PM calls it in- I just need a visit every 6 months!

OMG R U SERIOUS? THE LADY WHO RUNS THE OFFICE SAID I MUST BE SEEN EVERY MONTH AN DHAVE BEEN PAYING THESE MFERS $200 A MONTH FOR OVER A YEAR NOW I ALSO GET A LOW DOSE OF MS CONTIN..BUT I NEVR WANTED IT..AND LAST MONTH THEY TRIED CUTTING MY NORCO AND INCREASING THE MS CONTIN I SAID NO I AM TRYING TO GET OFF THE MS CONTIN CUZ I CANT AFFORD TO KEEP COMING HERE EVRY MONTH N THE BIT#$ WAS LIKE U HAVE TO BE SEEN U HAVE TO STAY ON A LONG ACTING PAIN MED IF UR TAKE A BREAKTHROUH PAIN MED.! Read your letter and am in agreement totally. This new generic from ACT sucks big time. There's worse side effects for me, unbearable. I'm in constant pain and more sick than ever before. I don't know how the girl above gets her Norco by only going to the doctor once every six months. I have to go in every month. And yes, you too my dear here in California will also lose yours and you won't be so "happy" I live in central California, where ever you are and whatever your doctors name is, I want it. The pharmacies are giving the run around also. They say they can get it, but then they can't. They huddle in middle having a conversation about the Norco, come back and say no I didn't say we would be able to get them. But you just told me you could fill my script for $622 for180 of them. There is something going on with the pharmacies also. If you get a group together I'm in, please. I've contacted our local newspaper, Activis and Watson without reply.

This is directed to Angela. What state do you live in. And are you going to a pain management clinic to get morphine and hydrocodone. My rheumatoligist has had me on hydrocodone for 7 years. Of course I now have built up a tolerance. I have severe R.A. And he said I would have to go to pain management for anything stronger. They want 300.00 first visit and 150.00 a month there after. And I am on a fixed income and can not afford the cost.

I'm assuming since not that many are complaining, that they have either called or had their doctors appointment, & got either a different brand or medicine. I just want everyone to know that Actavis said they did not have to get them FDA approved, but had to drop the dye as most likely part of the deal, no doubt they were a great company, but times are changing & big Pharma rules everything, your banks, grocerry, & much more to give you an idea, Im a licensed pharmacist & NO IT'S NOT IN YOU GUYS HEAD, THIS PRODUCT WAS PUSHED SO FAST LEAVING LITTLE TO KNOW SPACE FOR DETAIL IN QUALITY & PRINTING THE SAME CODED PILL & THE NAME " WATSON", they only had to report it as it was & that's where it gets tricky. My friend has a special patent lawyer & I'm hoping to get them to have this stuff tested as many are having serious side affects, keep calling & complaining that's how any manor company will have to answer to their Lies. I know that these don't dissolve all the way & I'm thinking the hydro is in the part that's not dissolving I'm not recommending anything but I would break one up into a powder & let lay under tongue as long as I can take it. Report this nonsense & your symptoms to both your local pharmacy & doctor. See pharmacies sign contracts w/ Pharma companies, so best to by from a more local smaller business & then they can order any brand that may work better for people. This company is the worst, & the sad thing is, when your a fortune 500 company you can get away w/ anything, write or call the American Medical Inst. Just don't let anyone say it's in your head, you looked for this thread & it came to you for a purpose. Good luck to all of you in pain & Godbless.

Has anyone tried the cold water extraction on these Crappy White Watsons? If so, did it help to get rid of the nasty side effects from these new fake Watsons?... Did it help with pain better??? I have degenerative disk disease in my neck & im in extreme pain without my Meds. My Doctor gave me a months supply nine days ago, and I knew Watson took the color out, so I wasnt worried when I seen mine were white. But the first day I took them I knew something was wrong! Someone else posted that they noticed pain relief for about an hour & then, nothing. Its the same way with me. These "New Pills" are CRAP!!! They're trashy... they make my skin crawl & itch, and they make me grouchy! I cant believe they can still have Watson printed on them, but they're not even Watsons anymore... I just cant believe that was allowed, and Im extremely angry my pharmacy didnt tell me the company had changed! I DO NOT like Mallincrot or Qualitest... more often than not, the pills I've gotten from those companies are the same way these new Watsons are. So I guess I'll have to go with the Amneil IP's next month. The IP's, in my opinion, were always second best compared to Watson, and I guess now, they're going to be my only option. But for now... Im stuck with three weeks worth of pills that just barely help with my pain, and make me itch and make me so grouchy I just about cant stand to be around anybody. So again, has anyone tried the cold water extraction?

I have fibro and cmps. I was diagnosed 13 yrs ago. I had been getting the watson yellow 10/325 and as long as I stay in front of the pain rather than chase it I function pretty well. Watson changed mine to the bright white pills. ever since I have been breaking out in hives covering my arms and torso. when I called the pharmacist he treated me like I was stupid. H sai they only removed the dye. How could he or any of us know for sure that they didn't add something else as a binder or to make it such a bright white color? I'm going to an allergist tomorrow. They can't test for medication allergies so it's going to be a painful month or two for me as I will have to eliminate all my meds, give them time to get out of my system and then add one back at a time to see which one I react to. Has anyone had this experience with the hives since the dye was removed?

I am in the process of reporting this to the FDA and Actavis (the company that used to be Watson) I suffered for ten days with these crappy white Watsons, and I got my pharmacy to swap them out for some other generics, the blue M's, and I noticed a major difference from the first one I took. I will never get Watsons again! They are CRAP and do not help with pain!!! If anyone out there is suffering with the new white Watsons, you could call your pharmacy and see if they will swap them out for you. And if you suffered like I did, you could file a complaint with the FDA, so maybe with enough complaints they will launch an investigation against this Actavis company.

have them tested so we can have a lawsuit! drugdetection is a site that wil do it for $400 its the only way. i too am disgusted have done all i can to try to get them investigated this is complete bs

Does anyone know if the 10/500 work better then the 10/325? i have been on the 10/325 for about a year on 3-4 a day and they dont work at all anymore unless i take double that last time i got 7.5 500 they made me feel sick cuz of so much acetaminophen i think. but i am out of money to continue goingto my dr and id like one last month without pain before the year or longer it takes for my disability to get a hearing and possibly be able to afford to go to a dr again.

forgot to ad my pain dr office is a bunch of greedy a(*)#les they have been making me be seen monthly for over a year and only put me on ms contin so i HAVE NO CHOICE but to be seen every month i just found out i could have been getting 3 month REFILLS of the norco when i asked the manager she said no i have to be seen monthly cuz they are a pain clinic but i dont believe her.anyone know if this is true? i am so upset cuz i havent had a job since last summer and go through HELL to get to them every month and borrow money to go also now my unemployment is done and im screwed probably going to be in a homeless shelter thanks to this sickening governement cant get medicaid guess cuz im white its ridiculous and $30 a month to eat with lol so i have money to go ONE MORE TIME and i have been trying to get off the mscontin and last month the idiot dr tried to increase it and cut the norco without even tell me or talking about it! so had to sit there and argue and i told them in trying to get off the ms contin and the girl says YOU CANT! u have to get the long acting prescribed with the breakthrough pain med or theyll get in trouble which also i dont believe! can anyone help me i know if i tell them again that i cant afford to come every month their just gonna be like too bad cuz they dont care about patients only money. but i have nowhere else to go . so i was gonna ask for the 10.500 mg and see if hell give me 5 a day but im pretty positive that he wont cuz they are uncaring

@lala; I had to go through near 28 days of these, in general the rule (by law) is that once you leave the pharmacy w/ a medication than it's your's & they cannot replace them, now maybe this pharmacy you used is going to return them to Actavis all together? Lots of pharmacist don't know what all we are ALL experiencing, & if they do than by contract they label you as a drug seeker, why not its easier huh?? I have a great buddy whom is a regional Pharmacy manager & we are good friends & he knows I'm no drug seeker & s*** who can be on a drug barely stronger & just slightly (chemically) different than CODEINE I was told pharmacists are given $$$'s, to site w/ these huge, damn overseas drug companies that are technically the biggest legal crime organizations in the world, next to the politicians they back up & monies & bailouts that go to these companies for the exchange of their corporation. I think regardless of the company it's really as many on here already know, the DEA & government that are likely behind this BS. According to them, they need to control & eliminate the outrageous population numbers & if you think I'm joking than stop reading now. I think all of us who even have the slightest idea & knowledge of what's really going on in current world times, realize just how much we have lost since the tragic day of 9/11 & thus the dominos have been falling every since & NOW the people are the new terrorists. I could & according to doctors be on such better & stronger pain medication but don't desire to be addicted to more than hydrocodone. Also, the lab results came back w/ the fillers being way over there threshold & the hydro content was very low 3-4 Mg, some less than 2mg., & the company ( ACTAVIS) knows they sent them out w/ out any studies done, s*** they didn't have too, they used the same imprints as Watson but had to change something to not have to be reviewed by FDA, which are not friendly w/ DEA. But that's another story so they changed the color, bulls***. What they have done should be illegal, but it's not until they have to remove watsons imprint & code, which is not going to happen unless more people demand different, but on these whats the difference?? On a good note if your doctor writes you a script for say 10/200 of hydro/Tylenol it's not commercially made by the pharm companies, so it can be compounded & thus made for you personally! I would be sure, that I knew my compounding place real well, but it's an option none the less, not sure when "Zohydro Er" will be released, but it's a new, no acep/Tylenol mix of just pure hydro for those w/ sensitivities & made in California & it will be expensive but it will be likely good due to FDA being all over them, for them to finally release it, & as well a new drug, its also time released, those w/ no insurance will not be able to afford it. To KR, sorry for you my friend, our country is going to "He'll in a Bucket" congress just passed immigration law to allow all illegal immigrants to stay & get 40k, as well as money to support jobs for them, but what about us Americans, true blooded for hundreds of years, our dads, dads fought to protect this country (as did I) but nothing for us, it's sad it really is all sad. I fear if this medicine was our only worry, man would we be in good shape. Buying American is just not going to be American anymore but no illegal fence jumping Beaner has the brains to be a chemist, maybe for these watsons, but you get the picture & not to be racial but send those a holes back home, give them free monies & a chance at the American dream, which is NOT for real Americans anymore. I think we have the Bush administration, Obamas, etc.., to thank for this BS. I pray for every one of you & just remember that it will be the weak, drugged, & dumb who will go first. Look at what our nation is subsuming to & why, I have no clue! Godlessness?? We have sat back watching why they have gotten away w/ the destruction of America.

I belong to Kaiser. And yes- I only see my PM every 6 months. I am very very lucky. I am not flaunting anything. Trust me- I'd rather go a lifetime without this pain than to "be so lucky" to have my pain meds readily accessible unlike most. Yes- there may be a day when this changes. Every pain man. Dr has their own rules. Most WANT not NEED you to be seen monthly. It looks better on their end! Good luck to all.

They have already taken out the extra ingredient in the Watson Hydrocodone and put some sort of additive in it, just like the additive stuff they put in darvocet's to make people feel worse so they wouldn't take them till they were taken off the market from lack of use. A year ago or so they were thinking of taking hydros off the market but decided to pollute them instead, to sneak one over on us, but people that really hurt can tell what's going on. I suffer tremendously and I have been for the last twenty years, the governments drug wars are ridiculous . Why must I suffer? This is beyond me. There are so many illegal drugs now and they can't control them why would they take our pain meds off the market or ruin them unless the government is selling illegal drugs themselves and would rather people go buy the drugs there selling which is probably what the government uses to keep from going bankrupt but I digress. It's just the way I see it.

Your right they don't work, I went ahead and got the original hydrocodones for 230.00 and they worked great I've tried all the generic brands and none of them do anything but make me feel lots worse and they give me a headache.

yes, all over my stomach. The white ones don't work. This is getting ridiculous letting the pharmacies take over. There seems to be more salespeople in the doctors office instead of patients. I've been on the yellow Norco for over 10 years, there was no warning to any of the patients with chronic pain, somehow we need to unite and put in a class action lawsuit. After three months of trying to get my meds back, even the doctor can't look me in the eye and lie anymore.

KR I have been where you are, waiting for disability paperwork, paying 165.oo monthly for a phone follow up to get lortab 10. (well I actually just got approved for disability and used the$ for my dr.) even after being on medicare it took abot 1 year to even get to a dr. to rx my meds. I have 3 kids though b(puts more pressure stress on you because you can barely provide) I do know that by law my pcp could and did wite me lortab with 2 refills , thus only having a face to face every 3 months,so a doccan also call in lortab,aka hydrocodone, anything else mscontin, oxycodone in ny form or strength must be written and requires a face 2 face visit. In my state yes there are new laws requiring docs to put chronic pain patients on an ER form and a max of 4 breakthrough short term pills a day. for example I take 60 mgs mscontin every 8 hours I am only allotted 4 lortabs a day . I do know for a fact one docs office a pm here in my state got visit from the DEAguidlining thi practice to put any choic pain patient on an ER form with a a max of 4 breakthrough short acting meds. I understand however that these professionals pharmacists and docs do lie I cn understand why you feel so betrayed. The atson hydrocodone is garbage I believe we are being lied to and who knows really WHY they changed the ingredients!! it's a bunch of bull.. though.. I have always found relief and quality in Mallinkordft brand meds, and they have always had white hydrocodone, I go to Safeway for the 10/500 they work well for me. Also it's not really a blck or white thing. I am half of each but my white aunt who has worked hr but off aall her life usually 2 jobs at a time, she's now disabled, has to go to the free clinic, gets crappy care, thy wont give her any narcotics even though she used to get thm then an intrn doc took her off, she has disabling documented ailments, this clinic docs are key in getting pproved for her ddisaability and they are rookies, it it bs ppl like her work ALL their lives and gt his treatment it pisses me off. However there are ppl who barely work but are welfare recipients and get Medicaid right on application. it sucks not fair. Just hang in there do what you can...but there are all different ppl in all different races, states and countries going through it..thanks government!!
