Bricks, I think it depends what state you are in and some new rules. My mom ordered COD on wends the 3rd (4th was a holiday). He called her with a tracking number on Friday. It left yesterday. Ordered from Steve.

Cat. Does Steve also work with dave n jason? I was thinking he was that over seas guy that took a couple wks to deliver, but I must be wrong. Would I be able to get ahold of him with the same number as jason? Bec. that would be nice to be able to do COD. Thanks.

kb. Did you ever find out why that one website is sketchy in so many words? You mentioned that you had no problems with them. I'm wondering why l-lady said beware and what took place. I was planning on putting an order in eventually, but I'm a tad bit skeptical. I see she never responded and I don't mean to piggyback off your conversation with her, but I wish I knew what she meant. Thanks.

While I have not read all 55 pages of this thread, I will say the title is absolutely false! There is no tramadol shortage, at all. Maybe if you're trying to get it from one of the illegal, scam, shady, on-line/overseas drug pushers (I refuse to call them pharmacies, as they are anything but) there is a shortage. But at a legitimate pharmacy, there is no shortage at all. I get a 180 count script from my doctor every month due to a serious accident I was in 13 years ago. I discovered tramadol eight years ago, after confessing to my doctor that I really did not want to take Vicodin any longer because I did not like the way it made me feel. He suggested tramadol as an effective pain killer that did not have the addictive qualities of Vicodin and was not as strong, thus eliminating the "zombie effect" I hated so much with Vicodin. Well it's not as strong so I have to take more of it, but it has been a godsend for me as a way of managing my pain, and allowing me to be a productive person (I'm an accountant/financial analyst, and I can't be in a fog all day at work the way I used to on Vicodin).

That being said, in the eight years I've been taking it, I have NEVER once had a problem getting my monthly 180 count tramadol prescription filled. Granted, my prescription often lasts longer than a month depending on how physically active I am for that particular month. But regardless, I have never had a problem getting my prescription filled, ever. So this thread is bogus, and unfortunately was probably started by an addict/abuser, and people posting on it are probably addict/abusers too. That's the sad thing with pain pills, is those of us who really do need them and don't abuse them, have to deal with issues caused by all the addicts, who do abuse them and obtain them illegally. If you tell someone nowadays you take pain pills, you get dirty looks because of the negative connotation created by the addicts/junkies.

Out of curiosity I checked on-line prices for tramadol, and you would have to be a complete junky to pay the kind of prices these scam operations are charging. I pay $8 at Walmart for my monthly 180 count script, compared to about $160 with the on-line scam operations for the same amount. Never in a million years would I pay that kind of money, but then again I'm not a junkie, and I don't abuse my prescription. Stop abusing them, get a life, and get a damn legitimate script, from a real doctor people!

David, quite frankly, you're a moron. You have to be a "junky" to pay $150 for a bottle of tramadol?? Um, you take 180 a month! By the way, how much do you pay for your doctors visit?? Right. Well over $150 if you don't have insurance. You're just a judgemental person that likes to put down people without health insurance because you have it. If you had any sense, you would've calculated out the cost of a doctors visit, whatever testing needed to be done to confirm the need for tramadol, and the pills themselves. You think you would pay less for all that than $150 without insurance?
Also, skimming your moronic novel, I noticed you also think that because you're pharmacy didn't run out, there's no shortage. News flash, know-it-all: your pharmacy does not in any way represent all the pharmacies in the country. By the way, those places you "refuse to call pharmacies", get their meds from the same EXACT place your pharmacy does. It's always the least educated people that try to insult people more knowledgable, but you will always end up looking the way you do now- stupid. Have a nice day.

By the way, David, some people with legitimate pain aren't able to get a prescription from a doctor, either because of cost or lack of access to one. So take your prejudice and stick it where the sun don't shine. I get my rx online, and guess what?? My script lasts me FaR longer than yours lasts for you. So you're the junkie. :)

David: one more thing. Do some research before you start accusing people of illegal activity, genius. Getting tramadol online IS legal and IS prescribed by a licensed, US physician. You just whined about being called a junkie, then you call others who probably all take LESS than you do. Wow, you're brilliant. Save your ridiculous nonsense for people who care what you have to say.

Sure there are legitimate on-line pharmacies, and I'm sure the legit ones aren't experiencing shortages either.

For the kind of trauma I suffered, I really should and could be on a much stronger pain pill, such as Vicodin or Oxycontin. I could EASILY get scripts for those, but choose not to because I don't like the way they make me feel. I have never abused my tramadol scripts, and conversely, my doctor is very impressed that I would choose such a relatively weak pain killer, all in the name of being productive. So to call me an addict is laughable. Before my accident I abused zero drugs, I don't even drink coffee. I eat organically, I exercise regularly (depending on my pain levels the intensity varies), and if there was ANY natural alternative to managing my pain as effectively as tramadol does, I would be all over it. Sadly, tramadol is the weakest pain medication that still allows me to live relatively pain free and still be a productive member of society.

Lastly, as I said again, even though I get a LEGITIMATE 180 count script, it's rare I consume nearly that many in a month. Usually it's about 100 to maybe a 120 per month. But the amount I take has nothing to do with the original reason I posted, and that is to refute the title of this thread, because it's bogus. I have never experienced a shortage ever, and my girlfriend who interestingly enough also uses tramadol for her endometriosis, has never had a problem getting her scripts filled either (she only gets a 90 script count however, and only uses maybe half that amount during the week of her period).

Whether you care what I have to say or not, does not change the fact that there is no shortage of this medication for legitimate scripts, filled by legitimate doctors (meaning a real in-person consultation), and filled by legitimate pharmacies, whether they be on-line or walk-in. It should be a pretty obvious clue as to what is legitimate and what is not when comparing prices, because real pharmacies don't charge a $160 for prescriptions that should cost no more than $20! Junkie pharmacies appealing to junkies who will spend their last dime to get their next fix, do however. Based on your hostile post, I wonder if you're one of the junkies I speak of, as junkies tend to get VERY defensive when they're accused of being junkies.

David. I'm going to go ahead and add on to what law lady was saying to you as I found myself extremely pissed off at you. Who the hell do you think you are to go and judge someone you know nothing about? Did you EVER stop for even one second to think that maybe some peolple have no choice but to go with online pharmacies bec. they don't have insurance? Prob. not bec. you were too busy trying to sound like a no it all and like you just have it together like no other. I'm no f...ing junkie and chances are you prob. take a butt load and you're just having a bad day and felt like taking it out on someone you don't even know. Yes, the prices are high, but when a person does have legitimate pain like I do and I can guarantee so does every one else on this thread, and NO INSURANCE, they'll pay those prices. For your information, maybe you shouldv'e gone back to the Dec. threads and you would have seen that there had been a shortage, but you didn't think to do that did you. By the way, if you have a doctor, why the hell were you on this thread in the first place. You need to go to some threads where your advise is needed. It's not here.

I am going to have to back up what AngiKay is saying. Thats why I pay the high prices. Its cheaper to do that than to pay my doctors office visit prices and the bloodwork, ekg, etc... I do see him once a year and just pay off the bill in payments as a matter of fact, I just saw him two days ago and of course got my script so i dont have to deal with these shortages and high prices..
so David, don't be so quick to judge others.
Im going to have to say that Davids post didn't effect me at all but I knew some of my forum friends here what be livid and say enough for all of us.
"why can't we all just get along"
cheers

David, you clearly don't know how having no insurance effects your ability to obtain medication you need. You think you have the worst pain out of anyone here?! Trust me, you don't. You think because you have health insurance and are in pain, you're better than everyone who orders online. That makes you, quite frankly, brainless. Take your judgemental jerk act and shove it. Ima medical student. I know very well what real pain looks like, and yours is not the worst. Also, tramadol is not considered "weak" by most doctors- it's considered to be a powerful alternative to drugs that can get the DEA on your backif you prescribe them too much. So your doctor being "impressed" is laughable. That's something a junkie would say. An ordinary person would obviously WANT something non narcotic if possible, and you want an award for that? Sounds like you just like getting high on tramadol. I don't, and I have an extremely painful condition. I don't think you get that your view is so warped and ignorant, everyone reading iris shaking their head in disbelief someone can be such a elitist jerk. And believe me, you know nothing out the pharmaceutical industry. MANY drugs experience shortages every single month,in pharmacies everywhere, especially drugs like tramadol. You probably don't pick up your prescription the last week of the month, so you wouldn't know that, which means your opinion is worthless.

And David, perhaps you can't read. The people ordering online DO NOT HAVE INSURANCE. If they went to a doctors office for an in person script, they would be paying about $300 or more for their script, including office costs. So the online prices are greatly discounted. Get it through your head. Also, I will say AGAIN that the doctors who prescribe our medication are legitimate, licensed physicians and each bottled receive has a DEA number stamped on it. Which means, if what you say is true (which it's not), the DEA would know all about this "illegal" operation and are doing nothing to stop it. If these were illegitimate, they would not be prescribed by a doctor and there certainly wouldn't be a DEA number involved. By the way, have you seen a naturopath? Obviously not, because there are literally hundreds of natural options I doubt you've tried. I have. So who's the junkie out of the two of us? Let's see...I take far less, with a very painful condition, and I have tried every natural pain relief treatment available, while you take between 120-180 a month and went straIght to drugs. Yep, it's you. You know nothing about how this works, so why don't you go do something that requires less education and more ignorance, like nose picking and watching tv?

Lol, WE get very defensive when being called junkies? You're the one that just went on about how impressed your doctor is with your choice of drug to back up the lie that you're not a junkie! Not to mention your rant about people looking down upon pain medication users as if they're junkies. You flat out said YOU were offended by it and became defensive. You really are one of the most ignorant people to have posted here. You seriously have no clue what you're talking about, so stay out of it. I feel bad for your girlfriend to have to put up with such an ignorant, self important idiot.

I'm speechless after reading LawLady's current posts... I'm interested in seeing if David has a rebuttal to this.
