can i please see a picture of the pill ## I don't have a picture to post for you, due to copyright reasons, but I can tell you that this tablet contains 8mgs of Hydromorphone, the active ingredient in Dilaudid, which is a very potent narcotic analgesic. How can you take a partial dose of MS Contin? ## Since MS Contin is a time released formulation of Morphine, there is no way to do so. If you need to take a lower dose, then you should talk to your doctor about prescribing a lower dosage, or prescribing a formulation that is a regular release, rather than a time released one. Are there any other questions or comments?

My father inlaw takes .5 morphine sublingaul. How long does it stay in your system? He has lung cancer. He's about 250lbs. ## Are you referring to how long it will work for him, with its pain relieving effects? For severe pain, the sublingual is usually prescribed to be taken every 3 to 4 hours, as needed, because there is no precise way for a doctor to know how severe someone's pain is and how long any medication will keep it under control. It is a narcotic, so it may cause side effects, such as: nausea, drowsiness, constipation and dry mouth. Learn more: ## I had major blood loss after surgery. Can I still use tripolene at night or will be give me side affects like headace ect, or slow the iron level i am trying to rebuild in my blood.

I am currently prescribed opana 40 my 2 times a day problem is I just moved to Cleveland Area and finding docs here sucks. I am with one now who was the coolest and saw my records and prescribed my opana 40 mg right away. Problem is it's not enough and I run out early by a few days all the Time and I am super good about taking my meds but after being hit by drunk driver and life flighted I have extreme problems. At home I had connections to get a few extra but here I know no one and get tested so don't want to get a bad wrap. It's Friday and I'm going to be out Tommorow again and not due till wedensdsy. And I am absolutely terrified of going trough that withdrawal again. I swear I'm to the point where I'm going to book a flight to Mexico this weekend. If anyone k...

is distalgesic also known as Proxyvon ## An incredibly painful surgical procedure to place a metal plate in my arm caused me to lose my job because of pain. Distalgesic relieved my pain so I got my job and function back;it saved me.Why do you say Distalgesic therapy is wrong? I am grateful for it. Codeine is good for my pain, too; without these medicines, I would have been unable to function and would have been on benefit, Perhaps the pain would have made me commit suicide. Why does society tell me I must not use these medications? Do you want me to suffer?

co pay is 60.00 for oxycontin i'm on fixed income ss disability but i get medicare but fall under low income so i get extra help for scripts problem is i still have to pay the 60 which i can't afford is there a program out there to help off set the cost ????? ## I'm sorry, but no. The current programs require either no insurance, or they help people in the coverage gap, but do not assist with co-pays. Have you talked to your doctor about using an alternative medication that might be cheaper, such as MS Contin? It's a time released formulation of Morphine and there are generics available.

I'm on Norspan 20mg patches (7 day release). I am scheduled to go for bariatric (gastric sleeve) surgery and was wondering what pain relief I can be given/ask for (Pethidine is obviously out as Norspan is an opiate antagonist, but tramadol may work, but is not as strong as pethidine) ## I'm really not sure what all is available for you to use. Have you discussed it with your doctor? It might be necessary for you to stop the Norspan for awhile, before surgery, so other pain medications can be used. In the U.S. in hospital settings, the most commonly used medication is Dilaudid, which contains the potent narcotic analgesic Hydromorphone:

I've taken hydrocodone for 5 years due to a back injury and I weaned myself off of them. The last time I took half of one (10/500) was a week ago. How long before it is completely out of my system? ## It really depends on how you look at it. Hydrocodone can take 1-6 days to be out of your system for a urine test, 1-10 days to be out of your system for a saliva test, and as long as 90 days to be your system for a hair test. So for it to be "completely" out of your system it can take up to 90 days. But I'd say after 10 days, only trace amounts might be there that are only detectable through a hair follicle test. You can read more about this drug by visiting the link below: I hope this info helps!

I Am Given By My Pain Dr Morphine Sulfate 30mg SA And 15mg morphine sulfate For Failed Back Surgery I Got Some Percocet 5/325 from a friend because morphine not working that good how long will it take to get percocet out of my system. ## The Oxycodone, which is the active narcotic in Percocet, is usually detectable for approximately 4 to 5 days, after last dosing, in a standard urine test. The time frame, however, will vary from person to person due to individuating factors, such as your metabolism, overall health, activity levels, fluid intake and etc. Are there any other questions or comments?

which painkiller would be best to try for more relief ; need a step up from Hydrocodone 750/7.5 . Don't want to take more of the Hydrocodone than is recommended and it just is not doing very well for me now . I have a killer stenosis in my back and the siatica nerve is really making even walking much more painful these past few weeks . Thoght maybe I could get some thoughts on this site . Thanks , JoJo ## Have you talked to your doctor about it? One choice may be Oxycodone, it is a very potent narcotic, but you'd probably be able to start off with a relatively low dose, if you've never taken it before, which leaves you somewhere to go, if you build up tolerance to it. There is a Vicodin/Norco product that has 10mgs of the Hydrocodone in it, but if you've been taking that...

Have been prescribed Oxycotin 80 mg. two times daily and Oxycodone 30 mg for breakthrough pain - 5-7 daily. Will see Dr. tomorrow. Please tell me what is best substitute for the Oxycodone (have Oxycontine). Am in much pain post op and back, my son is gong to have to go to doctor and I need to tell him what an expert with the recall/shortage, knowing what's available as substitute, etc. recommended. NOTE: Operations on intestines so combination opiates with Tylenol and esp. any Nsaids (aleve) would be a VERY last resort,i.e. 6 Vicodin=I Oxycodone 30mg and that's 500 mg. Tylenol minimum 5 times/day and my lver will shut down quick. 56 years old with 18 year old son. Please advise, please don't refer me to other links, I've seen almost all on the net. Many thanks, as soon a...

I have randon drug testing at my work and while I am NOT addicted to anything I would like to have a scrip for pain meds just in case... ## Yes, they cannot deny you the use of legally prescribed medications, even if they are narcotics. The only exceptions to this would be for jobs where your being under the influence of something, such as narcotics, could endanger many other people, such as an airline pilot. However, Lortab contains Acetaminophen and Hydrocodone and since the Hydrocodone is a narcotic, it is isn't very likely that a doctor is going to prescribe it for you, just to have around in case. Are there any other questions or comments? ## I have been taking Lortabs for about 3 years and have never failed a random drug test by my employer. I have even taking one right before...
