Need To Find A Doctor Who Will Prescribe Pain Medication In Suburbs Of Detroit Michigan (Page 2)

I have chronic legit pain with paperwork, (MRI's, EMG's, X-Rays and medical records from rheumatologist, nuerolgist, my family doc, etc...) My family doctor has decided that I need to see a pain managment specialist and has dismissed me as a patient. Please know I went to Beaumont Hospital's Pain clinic in Troy, MI and I have went through 3 years of PT also with Beaumont Hospital in Troy) Both did not work to relieve my pain. I am currently on Oxycotin 30 mg - 90 pills a month and Viccodin ES, 120 pills a month along with Trammadol, Xanax, hypertension and heart medcation. I would like to get off the viccodin because the tylenol in it is bringing up my liver enzyemes. I know all these medications are bad for me, but walk a day in my shoes and you would understand. My medical problems are many inluding: fibromyalgia, 4 bulging discs, lordosis of the neck, scoliosis of the spine, degenerative arthritis throughout my body including my knees, back and ankles, I am also diabetic and have bone spurs in my heels, shoulders, and back. I also have bursistis of my left shoulder. I also have PCOS. I was sexually abused from the age of 5 to about 9. Because of anxiety I rarely leave my home. I just want enough pain medication so that I can get out of bed and not be in extreme pain every waking minute of my life. I am at the point of thinking of suicide if I cannot find a doctor to help me. I have been let down so many times by doctors. PS - I am also morbidly obese. I weigh 320 and am 5'6. So I need a lot of pain medication to actually work on this big body. Thank you

Hi, I was wondering if that would be a good place to go? I was around 30 mg of Hydromorphone a day. So I don't think that is a large amount. A fair amount. But not insane. I just don't want to go to a bunch of Dr's that think a perc a day is a lot. Since the insurance will max out.

I want to address several thoughts with you. I would approach your serious, chronic pain issues in the following regimens. I would make every effort to find a program to lose weight. There are so many successful programs available, or get your doctor on board to prescribe a program that will work for you and your insurance will pay for. The doctor will be more inclined to prescribe for you if he or she can see that you are invested in trying to help work with your pain issues and not just relying on medication. Also, weight loss will help with the pain, if you are diabetic getting your sugar under control has so many positive returns for your overall health. Turning to the different opiates...here is the scoop. These medications will cause tooth loss, scoliosis, deep vein thrombosis and so many more side effects, some life threatening. I fell this way. Because they are dangerous I feel that taking them for a week or two after surgery or after an accident would be tops, or of course for a much longer period of time in the event of a terminal illness like cancer or with illnesses like Lupus. Moving on to Soma. The abuse of Soma by the pubic has now impacted the well meaning patient with no abuse issues has made it nearly impossible for those with chronic pain related to muscle pain, almost impossible to get a prescription for. I hope what I have offered you will help improve your life overall. Invest in yourself. You will get great returns!!

I have been going to 1 pain clinic now for 5 years. I have severe, painful, back and head pain. Confirmed by MRI's etc. The pain clinic I've been going to has been cutting back meds to the point where they're really not helping my pain anymore. This may be due to new regulations? However...their caring has completely stopped and everyone is treated like a drug addict or are treated suspiciously. At any rate, I just hate going there now. I've never had any problems like with urine tests or anything. It's as if they have all drunk the Kool-Aid and it's time to go. However, finding them 5 years ago was so hard. Does anyone know of a good, solid, professional pain clinic in any of the greater Detroit suburbs? (Preferably Oakland County where I reside.) I am given the lowest dose of Fentanyl patch to change every 48 hrs. (3) 10mg Percocet per day, and #40 Fioricet per mo. for headaches/head pain. Plus 4mg of Tizanadine at bedtime. I was taking 1/2 of a 5mg Ambien at bedtime which allowed me to sleep thru the whole night without pain (!) but they said they can't write it anymore as it is not to be written with Opiates. Now I can't get to sleep easily, and once I do, the pain wakes me thru the night and I wake up feeling as tho I've had an hour of sleep instead of 6-8 hrs I was getting. Anyone know of a good place without an aversion to helping with the meds I've listed above? It would be so nice to take something for the anxiety that comes with chronic pain, but the place I go to will not hear of any "support drugs" such as those. I really need help! Anyone out there with the name of a good, decent place with caring staff? That would be so great! Thank you :)

I'm in the same boat. I have MS and loss of reflexes. This is May 2017. I truly would appreciate any help finding a doctor. My Dr. left private practice and did not bother to only give 3 weeks notice. Patient abandonment. Please help. I swear to you I'm NOT A JUNKIE or profit maker, this is legit.
