Need To Find A Pharmacy That Fills Subutex Asap!!! (Top voted first)

I have been on subutex for 9 months now. But i have a very big problem next month k mart pharmacy will no longer carry subutex. I live in the tri cities in tn. I have called about 35 pharmacies around they either do not take new people getting subutex or do not carry it at all. I have no insurance i found 1 that cost 340 which is way more than the 215 i paid at k mart. Also some pharmacies I know only carry the small ones which to me do not work as good as the bigger ones. Huge difference. I go back on the 8th next month, so if there is anyone that knows of a good pharmacy in my area your help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm in the same shape as you, i just need my medication before I relapse. I do not care what color or size it is, my soberiety means too much to me. Can anyone help me find a pharmacy in the tri cities for subutex? I'm desperate, i have the RX discount card, no help without a pharmacy. Please, any suggestions?

Hello, Scott! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem you're having.

However, if you've called the pharmacies, then you've likely not actually received an honest answer to your inquiry. They have no way of knowing if the person on the phone is a legitimate patient with a need, or a potential thief, so most will just tell you that they don't carry it. The only way to get accurate answers is by actually going to the pharmacy, with your prescription in hand.

The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Does anyone know of a pharmacy in that area that carries it?

I got the ?? 411 ones b4, that your talking about now mine has a M an some numbers on it. It's the same medicine, just different manufacturer. Kinda like pain pills, there's norco, miland, an ip. Different color, different shapes, same thing. There's another subutex that is as small as a birth control pill, an another one that is oblong shape. They make a genetic suboxone that's white now but they wouldn't give u that with a prescription for the other. Hard to find a pharmacy that will even fill them. Idky pharmacists have the right to turn ppl away. I don't have insurance, an idk a lot of ppl with a drug problem that does, suboxone in any firm us expensive. $800 a mnth, cash, 2 a day. Subutex, $400 a mnth, 2 a day. There is a legit reason why ppl are getting them an it seems like it doesn't matter to the pharmacies. They are making money off every prescription, dumb to turn ppl away. Yet, if someone goes in with a script of morphine, percs, not god knows what else, they fill them with no problems.

I'm having the same issue, with a Sunday appt I knew it would be hard to get my script filled but, I had no idea it would be this hard, visited/called 60 pharmacies in Washington PA, and surrounding areas extending into WV, had the same issue, from WV with WV ID, PA script. Places in WV told me that they won't fill PA scripts, PA places told me they only fill for local people. Spent all day trying to get it filled with no luck. It's sad that people try to get help and are turned away like trash. No wonder most people give up and relapse. Things need to change this is so unfair for people who are trying to hold on to sobriety!

Phils Pharmacy Pitcairne PA ... Monroeville basically just outside Pittsburgh will fill your PA script for Buprenorphine ... formerly known as Subutex... regardless of where you are from as long as you have a valid ID... doesnt matter what state the ID is from. Phil only carries the small ones and they are $7 each.

Darren where did u go to get ur script filled that was an hour and half away?? I'm having problems getting mine filled too. I travel from Ohio to pa for a script only to have absolutely no one fill my script. I only found 1 place but they are the smalls ones n like u said they aren't as good as the big ones. I have to do twice as much as oposed to the big ones. Everyone I know that gets them won't help either cuz no one wants to give up their pharmacy. I need help n I'd greatly appreciate it if u were able to help since u stated to contact u for the info if it was needed. Plz help plz

Wow, even after being gone some time, it seems people are still faced by this terrible thing of not being able to find pharmacies to fill their Subutex prescriptions. What I do when they do this to me lately is file a complaint with corporate for the pharmacy refusing your prescription, now the prescription must be presented in person just to be clear, collect their reasons for denying it, say nothing, go home and file a complaint with their corporate headquarters. I have gotten results every single time this way. It's best to let them say no, give a reason and just walk away and then file the complaint. Every single complaint I have filed has been answered so far and I've been able to get my medication filled at the pharmacy that first denied me or they are quick to find me a pharmacy. I think if everyone would do this, it would work. WE MEAN BUSINESS and aren't giving up easily.

Jewell. Try imperial pa. There are pharmacys there that carry it. I don't think it helps calling because they will just lie. I think it should be illegal not to fill someone's script because they don't want to. A doctor prescribes it for a reason. I'm so sorry I went through the same exact thing. I never had that much trouble getting subutex filled

Mine too. I have filled at Walgreens for sometime and now am having a serious issue as they say they will not fill it next time which is this coming Thursday. I live in VA but my Dr is in TN and this is ridiculous. If I was selling, taking them in a way I wasn't suppose to take them, etc then I could understand. I have no idea what to do and suboxone makes me so sick. I have massive headaches, etc. Anyone know of a place I can get them filled in the tri-cities area and not be ridiculed? It's ridiculous, would they rather us go to a "pain management clinic" and get rx'd pain meds....I bet they'd have zero problem filling that. It's so ridiculous.

Hi. I was in your situation a few days ago. I paid to see my doctor got my prescription and went to every pharmacy in Pittsburg to fill it and no one would. I called and went in everywhere most people were rude. My advice is to go to one outside of Pittsburg I went to one a couple exits past coming back to WV. I called a rite aid they said they carried it but were out of stalk I went anyways and was just going to drop it off because I had wasted my whole day. Turns out they did have it. They pharmacist worked with discount cards and got me 30 of them for 110 dollars and it was better than nothing. I am from WV too and I had been on subutex since I started treatment someone at my clinic overdosed so my doctor switched me and I couldn't take the strips.

Hey i go to a and r solutions i got a script for subutex and im having trouble finding a pharmacy to fill my i found one but they dont take my incurance im from ohio and i have careaource they will cover it but if i hace to ill pay for the script did you find a pharmacy to fill yours ive called every where and been to diffent palces moat of them dont carrie it or i have to be pregant and have a letter stating that or allargie to suboxone and i am but they dont have it on fill i wote it on my paper work at the office and thats why he gave me subutex when when the pharmacy calls them they cant tell them im allergie to it cause its not on fille anywhere did you have any luck filling yours ihave this script for about a week now and i need help please help me

I've been on suboxone for about 14yrs due to addiction and chronic pain for hips replacements n broken back and realized they helped better with pain rather than 20 opiates a day but ive been going to P.A. for 10yrs n live in W.V. I've been involved with 3 different W.V. pharms n the past 5yrs and they've all ended up telling me they cant fill no more which is such bulls***. I've got insurance and im fully disabled and im treated like a junkie at every pharm ive tried getting my scrpt filled at. I've not been able to find a pharm to fill em at all. I take 3 suboxone 8mg a day, and again ive been the victim of the system- here's the miracle tablet that will save your life and get u back on track but then f*** me and stop filling, so if any body knows a pharm taking new scripts plz let me know. Again im another W.V. dude getting a P.A. script and W.V. nor P.A. will fill em. Totally f****d up when a person has turned his life around and makes a come back then to be shot down and have to go back to the devil.

I live in the Tri-Cities area as well. Just went to my doctor got my weekly prescription of subutex. I have been going to this pharmacy since September every week. Today they told me they would fill it but next week I have to have proof that I'm allergic to naloxone. I have to go pay an allergist to make sure, that a letter from my doctor isn't sufficient they need actual proof. It's crazy they will fill pain pills all day long but a few subutex and they need all this. I had a hard time finding a pharmacy as well. I use to go to Value Pharmacy on Market Street in Johnson City. They charge $8 a pill. They sometimes have the big white ones and other times have the little one, which I don't care for the little ones either.

I go to SC...It's worth the trip. I get 3 per day and also 3 2mg Xanax per day. I am agoraphobic and cannot leave the house most days... It's cheaper...only $280 for the doctor and $140 for 84 8mg subutex. {edited for privacy}

90% of pharmacies carry it. 90% of pharmacies lie to you about carrying it. 90% of pharmacies refuse you the treatment that your life depends on, literally a life sustaining medicine that your recovery from addiction at this point absolutely depends on. 90% percent of pharmacies would rather let you stick a needle filled with heroin into your arm than to give you your prescribed medication that cost you $200 just for the visit. 90% of pharmacies can't read the damn English phrase on the prescription that says INTOLERANCE TO NALOXONE: CAUSES CHRONIC MIGRAINES. 100% of the previously mentioned are all big pharma pill mills that had no problem addicting an entire nation. Now these same dipshits are refusing the treatment medicine to the ones seeking help. Yes. I feel your pain. Best bet small local mom n pop places. People that have a heart and sense of community are your best chance. Bring every kinda of proof u can that shows your recovery is taken seriously....because they're cruel as s***.

kdmrXohio - I am most certainly on board with you on the petition. You're right, it IS INDEED discrimination. Pharmacies should NOT be allowed to pick and choose whom they fill legit prescriptions for regardless of how many customers they already have, I was told by a pharmacist a while back that there is not a limit on the quantity of Buprenorphine they can order and there is not a limit on the number of customers a pharmacy can have for the medication either. Pharmacies should never be allowed to bill insurances, especially Medicare and Medicaid, for only cheap or medications they so choose to bill for, if they accept the insurance for ANY medication they should be mandated by law to accept the same insurance for any medication that is covered or partially covered under the customers plan. They should also not be able to say no to a legit script because of the state the doctor wrote the prescription in or the state in which you reside. A reasonable stipulation to this could be they won't fill if the customer is neither from that state and the script is not written in that state, that would be a reasonable reason to say no but just because you see a doctor in PA and live in WV doesn't mean you shouldn't be able to get it filled in PA or WV whichever you so choose. Many people live on the border of WV/PA so it is CLOSER for them to see a PA doctor or vice versa. I am positive that the board of pharmacy where they can check you out to see what you are and have been filling is nationwide now, supposedly that was the previous issue but how is it an issue now? They also shouldn't be allowed to refuse you based on who the doctor is or what the name of the clinic you attend is, if the doctor can legally practice medicine and can write prescriptions for Buprenorphine, whos a pharmacy to say, no we don't fill for that doctor? It's outrageous.

Addicts are CONSTANTLY harassed about getting into treatment but why exactly would anyone want to go into treatment and go through the crap people who obtain legitimate prescriptions have to go through just to get their medication filled? After an addict gets the help, then what? You're not guaranteed to find a pharmacy and you will play hell doing so unless someone is kind enough to point you in the right direction.

If you want to start a petition, I will happily add my name to it and spread the word. I guarantee all of my friends will sign it and honestly, the doctors that give a damn truly would probably pass out or post a flyer notifying people of the petition. I have friends that do not even take Subutex that think how we are treated by these big pharmacies is the most ridiculous thing they have ever heard of that will sign it too. A well written petition would definitely draw some attention. If we, the people this is affecting, do not stand as a whole, no changes will be made. It's up to us to get these changes made and into effect immediately.
