I took 100 mg of Tramadol last Thursday and have to have a urine test at my pain doc next Thursday (2 weeks between dosage and test). I was wondering if anyone has been tested positive after that long?

Tramadol is not considered a narcotic, but is, however, a controlled substance now because it is a synthetic (and weak) version of an opioid pain killer. Therefore, it will alleviate withdrawal from meds like Lortab and Percocet, but you will not receive the same euphoric effects and it also gives you a terrible taste in your mouth. Suboxone doesn't seem to recognize tramadol the same way it would a Lortab, and I, personally could feel the effects of tramadol on Suboxone, unlike other pain meds that were definitely blocked by it when I took them.

Nope, usually they can find it on a ten panel, but not a five. It's an opioid not an opiate. Tramadol will cross reference with suboxone and methadone too i believe. The five panel will find stuff like vicoden, perkaset (if you even had enough in system) i wouldn't worry

Omg people!!! Go to medical school and then you can answer questions and give advice.... Until then shut up! If you are in legitimate pain a health care professional will not mind treating you with something, otherwise don't take it if you have to be tested, plain and simple. Just go to the doctor and do it legally.

If your a chemist and a u.a. tech you should know about e.t.g. tests for alcohol. The metabolite of alcohol stays in your system for up to 80 hours depending on frequency of use and type of booze consumed as well as the amount. It isn't just magically gone when "the hangover" leaves you. Stop giving false info and acting like you know it's fact. Ass hat

The closest anwser to what you asked....before people got off on if it is a narcotic or not........ is 3-5 days and during that time you have to drink allot of water and I mean allot. That is the only anwser I have seen after so many have asked and responded all these years LOL. But yes its a Narcotic now. Its a man made one. It was a few months ago they added it to that list. It is a good medicine for pain. It however is not as strong as all the others. It used to give me great relief..... but when I started having seizures..... not caused by the med..... they took me off of them ASAP. So drink your water.... and good luck. And Hey come back and let us know. People do not come back and let us know how it went for them. That is how people will know how long it might take. The bigger the person it will take longer even though it dont stick to fat cells in your body like pot does.

It is very true that is a narcotic. Walmart verified tht for my ex sis in law. As it is not on the $4 dollar chart anymore because they have. Added it to the class of narcotics!

Ok so I took my usual drug test and I am on Tramadol and Gabapentin. My drug test showed up as Methadone. I am on Probation. So I am really needing to know Because I Have not taken anything else.

I too see a pain management and they were able to tell me exactly that I has ultram in my syStem
I was perscriped it early in pain treatment. But since I had to take a stronger meds. They ask me why was I taking ultram. So with pain management they have a 27 specific testing. So beware of this

Suboxone certainly helped me. It kept me from getting high from a few relapses. It did not get me "high" either, since it was taken in correct doses (and if not, NOT a good "high"), and also because it was very very easy to taper down to 1 mg (ready to stop), although you can stop at 2mg. It is NOT a "replacement drug". The reason it "doesn't work are many (e.g. people trade them dope, get clean successfully but start a new drug, or overall, just want SOMETHING to be high. Me, I wanted off what I was on - badly. But a lot of the younger teens are forced into the program from their parents or to comply with a program - but you have to WANT to stop. But yes, it works!

Yes they test for tramadol now. I had taken it like 4 days before my drug test b.c I left my meds at home and I had a old script for tramadol in my car and I came up positive and my doc said something to me about it. He was cool and let me retest instead of dropping me. But yes they do test for tramadol also and I know the tests are super sensitive.

I originally looked this question up because I had an allergic reaction to Tramadol after just 2 days, only taking each night. I still have a horrible rash, but the swelling has gone down. How can people take this! It didnt help my pain, just distracted me by making me swell up, itch and look like a bright red strawberry! Tramadol obviously is addictive, as I have been reading, but with all the side effects and bad things it does (especially if you end up allergic), is it worth it? I am back to just taking ibuprofen for my torn ACL! At least I know I will be safe.
