Doctors In Louisiana That Prescribe Methadone For Chronic Pain (Page 7)

I have been taking 120 mg of methadone for approximately 5 years. My husbands job transferred us from Florida to Louisiana where I found a pretty good pain doc. He is now running scared and wants to take me off of methadone. Methadone has given me a good quality of life; I am able to work and be a productive member of society. My doctor is unwilling or unable to assist me in finding a new doctor who will continue my meds. Oh yeah, I have been the route of blocks and injections and gotten little if any relief. I'm tired of being branded a drug seeker-I have years of medical records that back up my claims and verify the dosages that I've been on-what drug seekers have this kind of back up? I am looking for a Louisiana doctor, but am willing to travel (within reason of course). Please help!!

It means he inky takes patients who aren't addicted to drugs ! Legit pain patients only

Hi Melody. I looked up Dr. Crackhower online. One site says he specializes in geriatric medicine. The other lists him under Physicians & Surgeons/Weightloss. Both sites listed his address as Mobley Drive in Lafayette.

Robley drive in Lafayette yes :) that's him he's been a doctor for over 30 years and has specialized in a lot I see him currently so I know what I'm talking about :)

Great. I think I'll give his office a call soon. I love my doctor with a passion! He is gentle and kind. But come August he is starting his mdvip practice. He's going to start charging 1650 annually to see him. It literally is a VIP program. The perks are great. But it's just too much. Thank you for your kindness in sharing. It is worth a try. It's nice to know there are still some good doctors out there who don't treat methadone like it's crack! Everyone is different in the way medicine works, you know?

Hi I live in St. Tammany parish (mandeville) I went to Southeast clinic for years in Lafayette. You mentioned your doctor is starting a program for $1650 med program. does he prescribe Methadone? if he does I do not mind paying. It is the only thing that gets me thru my day. Tranchina g, we obviously went to the same dr. Who I loved and saw for 8 years. But I'm in the same situation as you. I've been turned away from 3 pain management placed because I take methadone. I can't find a doctor anywhere that will prescribe it. The ones who do prescribe it will not take new patients. Methadone saved my life. It gave me a life!! Because I went to our old doctor for 8 years I never knew it was so hard to find a doctor to write methadone . I afraid my quality of life is about to drastically go down and I may lose everything I've got if I'm unable to function at work. Were not the only people in this situation. I've heard there is hundreds of people all trying to find a doctor to write methadone. The doctors who do write it won't take our old doctors patients .tjey say they just can't take on that many new patients.i just don't understand why doctors would rather me take morphine, or OxyContin when it doesn't come close to working like methadone and it can give u a buzz , and make u want to take more. Methadone made me feel like normal , I could work , do everything a normal person did and the main thing was that it didn't make me drowsy, or feel any different that normal . I didn't feel like I was on meds . I'm taking morphine now and at the same time feeling withdrawels from methadone . It doesn't come close to stopping the pain. And I'm miserable ! No quality if life at all! It just doesn't make sense to me why doctors would rather give you opiates and simular meds that makes me feel loopy and at the same time I'm still hurting like crazy . My wife and i are moving back to louisiana she needs a doctor who will prescrib methadone she has been on the clinc for 15 years for pain it would be nice not to have to go to the clinc because it has become relly crazy at them.

I know u have had many people tell you to go to a methadone clinic and that is almost the only way to get it in louisiana. But make sure u do NOT tell the clinic that u need it for pain because I made that mistake and they turned me away!! Said they can only treat addicts!! So good luck!!

You need to remember that if you are treated at a Methadone Clinic, you are classified as a Substance Abuser. That may make it impossible to get treated for your pain. In other words you will have to continue to go to a Methadone Clinic.

She sue doctor for stop RX her methadone in California. She won !! She won because her doctor couldn't fix her pain and ingore her the need of methadone. She won a lot .. She didn't tell me how much she won. I was happy that she has methadone over a year til 94 years old. I has Chonric pain and took methadone for 8 years. In Louisiana , any doctor refuse and call it addict. What the heck Pharmacy has methadone for? Oh oh I get it he want me to keep complain my pain went to hospital to waste government money again and again. I want to save government money for the live of pain person by RX them their need. Yes I can sue! Hospital charge government $3000 per day and one little pain pill in big bottle. Yes We can sue. Don't let government go broke. We need government strong support and not robbing them. Doctor do and that sad. Yes we can sue.

in the court of LA you self induced with drugs not litigation. Reporting him is BS because DRs never Find faults w/other DRs so 1-800-bad-drugs may help a law firm I wish you luck! Dr.Troy Beaucordray in metairie la writes & takes all ins. state and private. also no ua for cannabis. just illegal street drugs. he is a neurologist my field they have carte' blanc for writing pease love and hope <3

hi! i dont know if we went to same doc. but I also went to southeast pain alliance and saw dr. holmes.before they shut down i requested my records to be sent to my neurologist.i signed all the correct forms and all. my neurologist never recieved a thing and now i cant get in touch with anyone to give me a copy of my records.I started seeing DR,jerrot in covington la then after Katrina i was moved to laffayette and been there since 2004.im just now off of methadone and my neurologist put me on 15mg oxycodone.ITS NOT HELPING and im running out early bc im having to take more to help with my pain. I NEED MY RECORDS!!! DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY ADVICE WHAT I CAN DO??? im in the earlty stages of withdrawal ONCE again and im sick of being sick. i was never sick going through withdrawals on methadone .i need help!!

laura, Put Louisiana Medical Society AND Closing a medical practice im your search bar. The site will come up in the list, go there and read what it says about what drs are to do when they are closing their medical practice. If your dr did the things he was suppose to do, there is nothing you can do about your medical records.

To the guy that cant get is scrip field out of state .. just call the pharmacy that u been dealing with and ask them if they would mail them to um or drive like I do. It suck dea. Telling dr. How they can give u med... I wish u luck !
