Doctors Willing To Prescribe Pain Medication In Las Vegas Nv (Page 3) (Top voted first)

Updated

I have mouth cancer that is very painfull and have been taking opioids/pain meds for many years. My tolerance is extremely high, so to have the meds actually work on the pain i'm needing a lot more than most. Just a guide of what i thank would help me and my history with pain meds: About 360 roxys 30mg, 180-240 lortabs 10mg, 90 morphine er mg, 150 xanax 2mgs, and 180 somas, which is not a lot to me. Is there any Dr. in las vegas, NV willing to write like this any more? #CANCER PAIN IN VEGAS

Hi, look I understand what you and everyone else here's going through! I can help. If your backs against the wall I found that kratom really helps. Perfectly legal here in LV, some states it is not. You gotta take alot of it but it a plant that hits in the same receptor family as opiate pain meds. I've used it for years and I have spinal stenosis, dextroskelitol scoliosis, two herniated disks, one 6mn other 3, pinched sciatic nerve, ECT...hope this helps!!

The Jurani Clinic in Las Vegas is where I go for my hydrocodone. I have a herniated disc, fibromyalgia, a brain injury, arthritis in both hands and carpal tunnel.

Re: Mojoworkin (# 248) Expand Referenced Message

You all are being LIED TO. THE DEA HAS ZERO LAWS REGARDING THE AMOUNT OR DOSAGE that can be prescribed. Any doctor or pharmacy that tells you otherwise is LYING TO YOU. There is not a single DEA law that limits the number of pills or the dosage a doctor can prescribe. The pharmacies that tell you the DEA stopped their shipments...ARE LYING TO YOU.

Here is the deal with no lies and no BS. There is an "epidemic" of people overdosing on prescription medications in this country. So, as with any other supposed epidemic, people go bats*** crazy because poor little Jimmy accidentally killed himself by taking too many oxycodone at one time, Mommy and Daddy are heartbroken, so they are lashing out, demanding these are not so readily available and on the streets of America to save other parents from the heartache and devastation of burying one of their children. I don't want to sound like an uncaring ass here, but, I am probably just an uncaring ass. In response to the supposed "epidemic", the CDC put out an opioid prescribing guideline letter. In it, they suggest that doctors not prescribe more than 90 mg daily of any opiate morphine/morphine equivalent. What has ensued is a knee jerk backlash over-reaction response. The CDC is the center for disease control, they are not a law writing, legislative, nor law enforcement organization. They are the organization that released the stupid "GUIDELINES" that have caused all the doctors and pharmacies to react and restrict the prescribing and filling of the opioid medications.

JUST SO YOU KNOW.....DR DEBRA HOURY MD, is the MPH DIRECTOR of National Center for Injury Prevention and Control. In other words, a big shot at the CDC who had a huge hand in the guideline written and released by the CDC that has caused the mess.

SHE HERSELF, has stated that everyone is overreacting to the guideline written and it is being implemented and enforced in a manner in which the CDC never intended. Let me give you a few quotes from her letter that I happen to have a copy of:

"Patients, such as yourself, with chronic pain deserve safe and effective treatment."

"The Guideline is a set of voluntary recommendations intended to guide primary care providers as they work in consultation with their patients to address chronic pain."

"Specifically, the Guideline includes a recommendation to taper or reduce the dosage only when the patient harm outweighs the patient benefit of opioid therapy. The Guideline is not a rule, regulation, or law. It is not intended to deny access to opioid pain medication as an option for pain management. It is not intended to take away physician discretion and decision-making."

"Furthermore, CDC encourages physicians to continue to use their clinical judgment and base their treatment on what they know about their patients. It is the ultimate goal of the Guideline to ensure people who need them have access to opioids, while reducing opioid related deaths."

SO...... All this whoopla is all about nothing. The doctors and the pharmacists are all lying to all of us.

I know this post is from a long time ago, but I saw you finally has gotten a good doc. I have Crohns dz, Fibromyalgia, nerve damage, migraines and bulging disks. I cannot find anyone to treat me even though I have years of records, have never abused medication nor drugs of any kind. I am at my wits end and hopeless. I finally got Medicaid so I can see a pain Dr. No one on the posts have the name of a Dr so it didn't help because I can't call! If you get this and either still see the sane Dr or have any others that have treated you fairly and were caring and managed your pain and you don't want post public, my email is {edited for privacy}. My name is Leigh and I would really appreciate it so much. Hope you are doing alright. I know you deal with a lot of pain and from one to another, my heart goes out to you. Hope to hear from you. Thank you!

Quick follow up.. I can't say this strongly enough. Do not take more meds than you are prescribed and expect your doctor to understand that you were having a bad day. You could end up without a doctor. Remain in close partnership with your pain doctor. The objective is to keep you out of pain. The entire system is broken right now and without extreme caution you will make your situation worse. It isn't a car repair business where you can just take your business elsewhere. These doctors are under so much scrutiny now that they often don't care if you go elsewhere. Until we get some leadership who will fight FOR pain patients things will likely get worse before they get better.Best of luck!

Put TIRF in your search bar. That should show you a page that explains the TIRF REMS Access program. It is still up to your dr to decide if he thinks this is best for you. Be sure your new dr has copies of your medical records from your previous drs.

Hi Cindy. I am also a disabled chronic pain patient with a long list of diagnosis' from a high speed auto accid. I've tried every treatment out there & drs say they won't touch me for surgery since I'm a very poor risk so, pain medication has been what gives me some sort of life & allows me to do at least simple things. We are relocating to Las Vegas & Im so worried about finding a good, compassionate pain management Dr. especially with the DEA going around & scaring the hell out of any caring physicians that are left!! I'll be locating in Clark County Vegas area. If you have found our do find a good physician & would be willing to share his name with me I'll be happy to do the same with you. I have a family member who resides there & is looking into some referrals. Let me know & best of luck to anyone who's in need of finding a new pain mgnt.dr!!

Bill, here is just 1 of the many problems folks face with pain. The DEA also has doctors educated in pain/chronic pain management. Therefore they seem to rule on how much the limit is. Now keep in mind these same tax payer DEA agents go out and get so dunk they can not stand up. Rather strange how American's see things. They do seem to complain more but that may not be a bad thing because it teaches others to find better results for managing pain. Someday God will get them back for they have no idea what journey you have been on. God Bless...

Just so you know most drs here in Las Vegas won't write percocet anymore as its a big problem in Las Vegas. I know I was on it and my dr said sorry he can't write it anymore. I have been with him for 10 years. I really do like him but he is a pa which from reading some don't like having a pa. Steve olencheck (idk if that's the correct spelling) he is under a dr of course.

I have mouth cancer too and back problems as well. There is no way you should or need to take so much medicine no matter what you say. You are drug seeking or selling those drugs. Its people like you who are making it harder for real pain patients to get their meds.
