IFollowing my quadruple bypass I continued to take Oxycodone for the past 18 months. Is it ok to stop taking it or are there withdrawl dangers involved? Please note I entered my wrong email adress on my previous question. This is the correct one. ## The question here is what is the strength and how often a day are you taking Oxycodone? I am not a physician but I am in the medical field and do deal with medication on a daily basic. My advise is to talk with you physician regarding this. There is a possibility having taken this drug for 18 months, that you may experience some withdrawl. The other thing is if you are truly in severe pain (because this is the only reason you should be taking this medication). Then you probably still need it. However this drug is highly additive, and often ti...

which is stronger oxycodone-acetaminophen 10-650 mg oroxycodone 15mg 1mm rel?and are these same as generics you get because if insurence? ## The 15mg immediate release contains 15mgs of Oxycodone, it is the generic for OxyIR. The other one you mentioned contains 10mgs of Oxycodone and 650mgs of Acetaminophen, the active ingredients in Percocet. Thus, in reference to the Oxycodone, the immediate release one is stronger, however, which one is better for you depends on what condition is being treated. If your condition involves swelling that is contributing to the pain, then the one with the Acetaminophen will be more helpful, since it can help reduce inflammation. Side effects are similar to both, since they both contain Oxycodone and may include: nausea, drowsiness, dry mouth and constip...

Are there oxycodone 15/325? I was shot and the 5/325 or 10mg oxycodone doesn't work. Any suggestions? ## No, the maximum dose available is 10/325mg. Oxycodone itself, without the accompanying Acetaminophen/Tylenol is available in higher doses, though. The FDA warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Actually i take oxycodone and they are straight 15.

Does anyone have any information about Oxytrex? I am currenly on oxycodone, 10 mg 3x a day. I want to start LDN (like 0.5 mg a day to start) but it appears I will have to completely come off the oxycodone first. But if theres a medication that combines he two maybe I don’t. My doctor tried 4.5 mgs on a patient and they had immediate withdrawals, but he isn’t sure that will happen to me on 0.5 mg. Does anyone have any links to the information from the drug trials, or what doses they are using?

1500mg of oxy or roxi a day. Give or take 300mg ## @Mike, Your description is a bit vague, so I don't know what it is you might be referring to with that type of dosage in mind, but I've never heard of anyone taking 1500mgs of Oxycodone in a day! That sounds like it's far beyond the point of someone abusing it; maybe for someone who just wants to put an end to their life. Even for severe cancer patients, the average daily dose of controlled release Oxycontin can range from 20mg to 640mg per day. And for immediate release, doses higher than 30mg are rarely needed or prescribed. So I guess my question to you is, why would you recommend such a remotely high dosage of this drug knowing that very few people don't even take half of what you suggested? ## 1500mg a day is a deat...

I have been taking oxycodone 512 And my Pharmacy now gives me. a 349 Oxycodone but it fells like there not as strong . ## They are both 5/325mg doses, as listed in the databases by the FDA, just manufactured by different companies, since this is a generic. However, there can be slight fluctuations from one generic to the other, so this one could be slightly lower. Since the differences are usually very slight, your body will usually adjust in a week, or so. If not, then you should consult your doctor. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

Can I take a 7.25 oxycodone every six hours with a 500 mg tynol once a day? Will it hurt my health ? ## Hello, Carol! How are you? You can take them together, if your doctor approves, Acetaminophen can augment the efficacy of the Oxycodone in some people that take it. However, as reported by the U.S. FDA, long-term use of high doses of Acetaminophen carries the risk of liver damage, or failure. They also warn that Oxycodone carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

It's that time my pain manag. And I are getting togeather to change my meds I am currently on oxycodone 20mg 5 times a day. I was wondering about demoral. Thoughts I have cronic pain in my ankle and have have 5 surgeries to try to fix it with nonluck. Also what other long and short act meds should I look up that are stronger than what I am currently taking ## Hello, Mtothej! How are you? I'm very sorry that you're in pain. Demerol isn't actually a good choice, because it's much weaker than Oxycodone. For each 20mgs you take of Oxycodone, you'd have to take 300mgs of Demerol to be equivalent. There are higher doses of Oxycodone available, including the time released Oxycontin that's taken every 12 hours. There are also patches available that contain Fentanyl, ...

Oxycodone + Naltrexone Drug Index

Oxytrex is an investigational drug currently in clinical trials. It combines the well known opioid agonist oxycodone in the treatment of pain with an ultra-low dose of naltrexone, an opioid antagonist. Naltrexone can have markedly different pharmacokinetics at ultra-low doses which may include, the attenuation of a pre-established opioid tolerance, the prevention of tolerance from the oxycodone in the formulation, and the possible amplification of oxycodone. It is being developed by Pain Ther...

My Dr. wrote me a script on the script it says oxyCODONE (ROXICODONE) 15 MG immediate release tablets. the tablets are small and light green with the funny looking v on 1 side and 48 11 on the other side is this the imm rel.? I was taking two of the 5mg imm rel and they seemed to take care of the pain better than th 15's do I'm confused ## Hello, James! How are you? There actually aren't any in the higher doses that are immediate release, the only immediate release ones available are 5mg capsules. The one you've asked about is a 15mg regular release tablet that's manufactured by Vintage Pharmaceuticals. They generally take about 15 to 20 minutes to start working. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming a...

I took my last Oxycodone on Saturday. I've been taking 30 mg for 5 years. How long would withdrawals last if I take tiny pieces of 8 mg Suboxone? How long will I need to do this so that I don't get sick? Thanks ## I have a great deal of experience with induction phase of subs. If you are on Subutex you can start as soon as you feel a little sick. But make sure you have gone at least 24 to 36 hours. Since there is no Naloxone in Subutex it is not like subuxone, Start with a small piece of sub try that and see if you get relief. If you are ok take a little more until you feel straight. Subutex is alot easier to get on then subuxone so make sure you are really sick or you will go through Precipitative Withdrawal Or Hell as I like to call it. Remember, less is more and the oxys will...

I'm trying to manage pain for degenerative stenosis and see that hydrocodone is usually in 5 or 10 mg pills, while oxy, which is supposedly 2+ times stronger, is in 20 , 30 or 40 mg pills. What am I missing here? ## Originally, since it has the Acetaminophen added, the Hydrocodone products, such as Vicodin, Lortab and etc. were meant to be only for short-term use. Just to treat pain that was expected to resolve in a week or two, such as what someone may experience after they've had surgery or been in an accident. Currently, the government is trying to transition it back to being used this way, by restricting how much doctors can prescribe and for how long, though they haven't completely managed to do so, yet. (This would be the same as the original intent for Percocet, which...

Is aspirin in the blue oxy 30 mg..I took it and was sick bad..I'm allergic to aspirin..just curious if it did and that's why I got so sick ## There are no 30mgs Oxycodone tablets that contain Aspirin or any other active ingredients. The higher doses are only available in tablets that solely contain Oxycodone. Learn more Oxycodone details here. However, Oxycodone is a narcotic and can cause some pretty bad side effects, so it could just have been it that made you sick. What types of symptoms did you experience?

So a friend of mine was trying to tell me that they make a 60,80 and 100mg IR oxycodone. Not ER oxycontin but IR, I told him he was crazy the highest mg they make for IR is the 30mg Roxicodone. He said they do make them in pill form but choose not to tell us about them because of the already crack down on opioids. I was just wondering if anyone out there has either seen heard of or ever had one of these pills. My guess is they dont make them. ## You are correct, the immediate release formulation of Oxycodone is only available in dosages up to 30mgs. The instant release is only available in 5mg capsules, and anything over 30mgs is only available in the time released formulation. There was a time other doses were available, but they were removed from the market due to regularly increasing ...

IS THERE ANY THING STRONGER THAT MY PAIN MGMT DR CAN PRESCRIBE ME THAN A 30MG ROXY, he also prescribes 200mg of ms contin ## Hello, Dave! How are you? I'm sorry that you're in pain. There is a time released form of the Oxycodone available called Oxycontin, you could speak to your doctor about switching to that, since it would be stronger than the MS Contin. There are also patches available that contain the potent narcotic Fentanyl, it's the strongest one available. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. To replace your regular release medication, if you prefer to do that, there are higher doses of Roxicodone available, as well as several other alt...

30 mg oxycodone in red and white capsule with no marking ## Are there 30 milligram oxycodone that come in red and white capsules? ## To my knowledge, the answer to your question is no. The closest match I've been able to locate is a red and white capsule containing 5 mg of Oxycodone plus 500mg of Acetaminophen. Perhaps this is the pill that you're describing? Manufacturer: Teva Pharmaceuticals USA National Drug Code (NDC): 00555-0658 Let me know if you have any more questions or concerns regarding this pill! ## The only way that this dosage in unmarked capsules would be legal in the U.S. would be if they were specially ordered by a doctor and put together by a compounding pharmacy. And since there are tablets readily available in doses higher than the current 5mg capsule on the ...

please explain Naltrexone can have markedly different pharmacokinetics at ultra low doses which may include the attenuation of a pre-established opioid the prevention of tolerance from the oxycodone in the formulation, and the possible amplification of oxycodone ## Think of it as wiping the slate clean. Thats what naltrexone does to the opiod receptors thereby "erasing" tolerance and making the receptors more sensitive again ## @John, I don't know if you may be looking for a second opinion on this, but I think the previous post does a good job of putting into perspective how Naltrexone works to prevent the tolerance of opioids. According to the U.S. National Library of Medicine, a 100mg dose of Naltrexone is said to provide a 96% blockade by the time 24 hours have passed, an...

I find it ridiculous that sooo many people are messing around with schedule II narcotics yet have no clue to the potency, side effects, drug interactions, etc.. are you people not adults? Oxy is indeed a good 1.5% stronger than morphine and not at all subtle like morphine.. Most doses of Oxy that are between 15-30 mg are IR's not ER (extended release like most morphine)... SO BE CAREFUL AND FOR YOUR LIFE'S SAKE! DO SOME SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH BEFORE POPPING YOUR PILLS LIKE CANDY!! 60 mg of oxy in one release can stop your breathing! ## Hello, Nobody! Thank you for the warning you have posted for others. However, I do want to correct one point. The only instant release Oxycodone available is a 5mg capsule. Anything greater than 5mgs is regular release or time released. This is a nar...

Ok I'm talking 10mg of oxycodone, they are very tiny and pink. My question is I hear people say they take 5/500....or some numbers like that and their round and white. What is the difference? My Dr told me to take two in the morning and 2 in the evening. That's not helping me and it's scaring me Cuz I don't want to raise the dose! ## Percocet contains Oxycodone coupled with Acetaminophen, because it can augment the narcotic, so it works better for some people. That's why they list 2 numbers in the dosage, for example the 5 would be the amount of Oxycodone and the 500 would be the amount of Acetaminophen, though it does need to be acknowledged that doses containing more than 325mgs of Acetaminophen are no longer available. If your current dosage isn't working for ...

My husband died from what is described as "the result of a toxic level of oxycodone, 200 ng/mL." How many pills could he have taken? ## Dear Chrissy, My sincere condolences for the loss of your husband. I think the answer to this question (re: how many pills he could've taken) may be subjective based on your husband's tolerance to opiates/opioids, the speed of his metabolism, when he took them relative to the timing of his death, etc. For a chronic pain patient who depends on daily oxycodone use for relief, I'd imagine that the number of pills could've been quite high. However, an individual with no drug history would likely be affected a magnitude greater even on lower doses. Unless you were able to factor in things like metabolism & the timing of his dose, ...
