Nardil is a hard medication to be on. I was wondering if there are any other antidepressants that have the same effect as Nardil without the side effects? ## You will not find any drug without side effects, the class of drug does not matter. How badly they affect you depends on your body and your metabolism. ## I have been on Nardil for three months now. I am taking 45mg a day. Is this a typical dose? ## I was on Nardil for about 6 years and it did work for my aniety / panic attacks very well. However my physiatrist said there are much cleaner meds available now for my type of condition. Am having hip replacement & need to find a pain medication that won't have any side effects with the Nardil ## Hello, Babe! How are you? I'm sorry, but I've checked many via the interaction checked from MedScape and I'm not finding any. However, in the hospital, it may be different after the surgery, because they can monitor you. So, they may know of something they can give you that isn't as risky. Has your doctor had any ideas? Sometimes, they will have you go off of the Nardil for awhile, before doing surgery. Sir/Madam I been taking the original Nardil for over 35 years and did help me. In 2003 Pfizer reformulate it to genric, without telling to any one of the change, in short time i lost 50 lbs. Apparently 80.000 people experienced the same. Humanly and ligally Pfzer was wrong, furthermore Pfizer sold the crap formula to others companys. Now days its avaible in USA the Gavis Nardil manifactured by Novel Pharmaceutical, the Gavis Nardil its very close to the original Nardi and is been proven is working. >UNFORTUNATELY not avaible in Canada. Intuniv contains the active ingredient Guanfacine and Nardil contains Phenelzine, there are problems that can arise from taking them both, because it can cause a severe hypertensive crisis, which can be followed by severe hypotension....

I take Nardil or Phenelzine sulfate for depression. I am very nervous because the Dr prescribed Methocarbamol and I don't know if it works with Nardil? ## I didn't find any problems, or interactions listed, but it is always best to double check. My wife experienced alarming bradycardia (heart rate <50 bpm), weakness and dyspnea after only 5 doses of Multaq. She has been a long time user of the antidepressant Nardil. International package inserts (PI) disclose inhibition by MAOI's of Multaq's metabolic clearance. Regrettably the US PI does not disclose this potential for drug interaction. I have urged both Sanofi and the US FDA to correct this omission of useful information. ## In response to your request for more information: Heart rate returned to the normal range (~75 bpm) within 5 days of discontinuing Multaq. I was let go by my physician, him assuming I was selling my med's. I take 4 to 5 oxycodones a day. Didn't show in my urine or blood work on 2 months of lab work. I take my med's. I am now flagged and my records are assuming I wasn't taking the medicine and the Dr. would not prescribe my pain med's until I could get into another Pain Clinic and has assumed I was not taking my med's.. I have never sweared on anything but I will swear to anyone, I take my med's as prescribed to me. Please give me any info you can. This is my character being ruined and I haven't done anything wrong.
